No full textBased on the coverage of the creative relations and mutual influences of the reformer of the domestic theater Les Kurbas and the film director and dramaturg Oleksandr Dovzhenko in the domestic humanities, the author of the article, arguing with his predecessors, proceeds to consider the differences between the functioning of words and visual media on the stage and on the screen. Analyzing certain key differences between drama and script, between the talent of a theater director and a film director and a film dramatist, it traces the process of birth of such a new dramatic genre as the script in the creative laboratory of the film master Oleksandr Dovzhenko
