Evaluation of Reference Service Quality in the Institut Seni Indonesia Library Surakarta Using TERRA Model
This study aims to evaluate student satisfaction with reference services at the Library of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta. An analysis based on the TERRA model was employed to measure five service quality dimensions, namely Tangibles, Empathy, Responsiveness, Reliability, and Assurance. A descriptive quantitative approach was applied using purposive sampling of 30 active students with actual experience in utilizing the reference services. Data were collected through a four-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using frequency distribution assisted by IBM SPSS Statistics 27. The results indicate that the Assurance dimension achieved the highest satisfaction level, followed by Reliability and Responsiveness, while Tangibles and Empathy were categorized as good but require improvements in terms of collection completeness and interpersonal communication. These findings demonstrate that ISI Surakarta’s reference services have effectively met the academic needs of students, although innovation remains necessary in developing art-based collections and optimizing reference spaces. The study confirms that reference services in arts education environments require service adaptations tailored to more complex user characteristics, including visual, creative, and collaborative preferences. This research contributes to the development of library service strategies that are more adaptive to the dynamic information needs of art students and expands the application of the TERRA model within non-conventional academic contexts. The findings also provide an empirical basis for integrating user perception-based service evaluations into the management of academic libraries in the era of digital transformation
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Medical Waste Management and Environmental Impact in Independent Healthcare Practices: A Systematic Review
Independent healthcare practices have an important but often overlooked role in managing infectious medical waste, particularly in low- and middle-income settings. This systematic review examines 17 empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025, comparing Indonesia with selected global cases. The results show that most independent providers face ongoing challenges such as limited facilities, insufficient training, and weak regulatory enforcement. These barriers lead to improvised segregation and unsafe disposal methods, including open burning or mixing with household waste. Regulatory compliance is generally low due to gaps between policy and daily practice, especially in rural areas. The review found environmental and health risks, such as needlestick injuries, local pollution, and exposure to infectious agents, while legal protections and community rights remain weakly enforced. Although some urban areas benefit from structured systems and professional waste services, most providers still lack sufficient support and supervision. This review highlights the need for adaptive and context-based strategies, including improvements in training, infrastructure, supervision, and community involvement. Bridging the gap between policy and practice requires comprehensive and collaborative approaches to achieve safer and more sustainable medical waste management in independent healthcare settings
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Kajian Literature: Implementasi Perpustakaan Digital di Perguruan Tnggi
This study aims to describe the implementation of digital libraries in universities. This research is a descriptive study with a literature review method. Five articles were selected that discussed the differences and similarities in user satisfaction between undergraduate and postgraduate students regarding the existence of digital libraries. This study discusses similarities, dissimilarities, provides views, compares and summarizes selected articles. It was found that there are differences and similarities in user perceptions in the use of higher education digital libraries, factors that influence user satisfaction with digital libraries such as system quality, information, and services, digital library affinity, perceived ease and satisfaction felt by users. The five selected articles stated that in a group of academics in which there were undergraduate and postgraduate students had different perceptions of digital libraries. Undergraduate students tend to emphasize speed of access, while postgraduate students prioritize the validity and up-to-date of an information source to meet their needs for information. The results of this study are expected to be a material consideration for policy makers in planning the development of digital libraries so that they are right on target so that their utilization can be maximize
Biomedical waste during the covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia: Systematic literature review
Since the beginning of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, there has been a significant increase in the quantity of hazardous biomedical waste, which poses a risk to human health and has a negative impact on the environment. There have been no specific studies conducted in Indonesia to assess the potential impact of biomedical waste during the pandemic COVID-19. Therefore, the purpose of this systematic review is to describe the various types of biomedical waste, their implications for health and the environment, as well as the techniques for managing biomedical waste during this pandemic. A total of 141 scientific articles were identified through the Google Scholar database. From these, 17 selected references were systematically analysed. The majority of the studies focused on investigating the environmental impacts of medical waste caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. From the 17 articles, we identified 7 articles that discussed the environmental hazards of biomedical waste, and 4 articles related to health. 6 articles outlined biomedical waste management (BWM) in Indonesia and solutions to implementation issues in BWM. It is recommended to conduct more studies, including meta-analyses, to gain a better understanding of the effects of medical waste on environmental health during the COVID-19 pandemic
