On a generalization of the Constantin–Lax–Majda equation

    No full text
We present evidence on the global existence of solutions of De Gregorio's equation, based on numerical computation and a mathematical criterion analogous to the Beale-Kato-Majda theorem. Its meaning in the context of a generalized Constantin-Lax-Majda equation will be discussed. We then argue that a convection term, if set in a proper form and in a proper magnitude, can deplete solutions of blow-up

Dealing the Majda Koren’s literature works at the classroom teaching in the primary school

Children’s literature comprises a complex of belles-lettres texts, written by adult authors who establish a dialogue with a child in this way. The author's self-understanding or how the adults see the dialogue with the child is seen in literary works and autopoetics. The latter is about the author's explanation of their own view on young adult literature creation. Children’s literature is very diverse, considering the perspective from which the author presents the textual reality. In my thesis I researched the prevailing perspectives in literary works of Majda Koren, and how the pupil's feedback differs based on different perspectives. The introductory part is focused on presenting the Slovene children’s literature writer Majda Koren and her literary work. In the central part various perspectives that are characterized in young adult literature are presented, and Koren's works are analyzed according to the prevailing perspective. I figured out that the perspective of reconciliation is prevailent in her works, which means that the author identifies herself with the child's soul and mostly writes about the troubles of heroes that prevent the children’s world to be like they want it to be. In the final part lesson plans for four literary works of Majda Koren are written. I carried out the lessons in the 5th grade of primary school. The students’ feedback to the discussed works was positive, but it differed according to the perspective. They liked works with the realistic perspective and a hero they could identify with the most. With every discussed literary work pupils were also recreating literary works. The easiest for them was to write fantasy texts – about themselves as the allmighty hero who solves all the problems. Somewhat harder for them was to describe real events that they experienced, because they could not use their imagination in this case. In the end I did an interview with Majda Koren

A sparse resolution of the DiPerna-Majda gap problem for 22D Euler equations

A central question which originates in the celebrated work in the 1980\u27s of DiPerna and Majda asks what is the optimal decay f>0f > 0 such that uniform rates ω(Q)f(Q)|ω|(Q) \leq f(|Q|) of the vorticity maximal functions guarantee strong convergence without concentrations of approximate solutions to energy-conserving weak solutions of the 22D Euler equations with vortex sheet initial data. A famous result of Majda (1993) shows f(r)=[log(1/r)]1/2f(r) = [\log (1/r)]^{-1/2}, r1r 1 as a sufficient condition for the lack of concentrations, while the expected gap α(1/2,1]α\in (1/2, 1] remains as an open question. In this paper we resolve the DiPerna-Majda 22D gap problem: In striking contrast to the well-known case of distinguished sign vortex sheets, we identify f(r)=[log(1/r)]1f(r) = [\log (1/r)]^{-1} as the optimal regularity for mixed sign vortex sheets that rules out concentrations. For the proof, we propose a novel method to construct explicitly solutions with mixed sign to the 22D Euler equations in such a way that wild behaviour creates within the relevant geometry of \emph{sparse} cubes (i.e., these cubes are not necessarily pairwise disjoint, but their possible overlappings can be controlled in a sharp fashion). Such a strategy is inspired by the recent work of the first author and Milman \cite{DM} where strong connections between energy conservation and sparseness are established.24 page

On global solutions for the Constantin-Lax-Majda equation with a generalized viscosity term

    No full text
We consider a one-dimensional model for the three-dimensional vorticity equation of incompressible and viscous fluids. This model is obtained by adding a generalized viscous diffusion term to the Constantin-Lax-Majda equation, which was introduced as a model for the 3-D Euler equation[2]. It is shown in [6] that the solution of the model equation blows up in finite time for sufficiently small viscosity, however large diffusion term it may has. In the present article, we discuss the existence of a unique global solution for large viscosity. We investigate convergence of the solution and show that the solution blows up in finite time for sufficiently small viscosity coefficient regardless of the order of derivative of the viscosity term.http://www.iop.org

Crises économiques et politiques monétaires : analyse théorique des effets sur l’inflation et la croissance multisectorielle

    No full text
This article, based on a systematic and integrative review of the literature on economic crises, offers an in-depth analysis of the impacts of financial, health, and geopolitical shocks on inflation and multisectoral economic growth. By adopting a comparative, multidimensional, and multidisciplinary approach, it draws on lessons from the 2008 global financial crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and current geopolitical tensions including armed conflicts, disruptions to global supply chains, and economic sanctions. These events are examined in terms of their capacity to trigger feedback effects on key macroeconomic balances, particularly through market volatility, reduced investment, and fluctuations in international trade. The article places particular emphasis on the effectiveness and limitations of unconventional monetary policies such as quantitative easing (QE), negative interest rates, and asset purchase programs implemented by central banks to mitigate the economic fallout. While these measures have, in some cases, supported aggregate demand, stabilized financial markets, and delayed recessions, their long-term effects raise persistent concerns: increasing social inequalities, speculative bubbles, unsustainable public and private debt, and excessive reliance on central bank interventions. The article thus highlights the structural weaknesses of these mechanisms and calls for a reform of economic policy frameworks, including ambitious structural reforms, strengthened financial regulation, and enhanced international cooperation to build a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable economy. Assessing late-time singular behaviour in symmetry-plane models of 3D Euler flow

    No full text
Motivated by work on stagnation-point type exact solutions of the 3D Euler fluid equations by Gibbon [Gibbon et. al. Phys. D, 132, 497, (1999)] and the subsequent demonstration of finite-time blowup by Constantin [Constantin, Math. Res. Notices, 9, 455, (2000)] we introduce a one-parameter family of models of the 3D Euler equations on a 2D symmetry plane. These models provide a collection of blow-up scenarios which admit analytical solutions and are computationally inexpensive in comparison to the full 3D Euler equations. We take advantage of these features to examine the efficacy of novel methods which aid the assessment of finite-time blow-up in numerical simulations. The principal of these is the mapping to regular systems [Bustamante, Phys. D, 240, 1092, (2011)]; a bijective nonlinear mapping of time and the prognostic variables based on a Beale-Kato-Majda (BKM) type supremum norm regularity condition [Beale et. al. Commun. Math. Phys. 94, 61, (1984)]. We show a 3 order of magnitude increase of accuracy of the singularity time when employing the mapping with negligible additional computational expense. An investigation of the spectra of the primary field (vortex stretching rate) allows us to confirm a power law decrement of the analyticity-strip width with time in agreement with rigorous bounds bridging between the global spatial behaviour and BKM theorems [Bustamante & Brachet, Phys. Rev. E. 86, (2012)]

V magistrski nalogi smo proučili nekatere vidike družine in delinkvence v delih pedagoginje Majde Pšunder. Master thesis studies and researches various aspects of family and delinquency in works written by teacher and educator Ms Majda Pšunder. Research originates in her biography as the author has dealt in depth with the aspect of family and youth delinquency in her abundant academic career. For the purposes of this master thesis her chosen works have been chronologically reordered and later on presented through their important content characteristics, theoretical basis and research results. Family is a primary unit which by setting examples and boundaries, consistency, communication and teaching about independence and freedom leads and directs a child through life. With growing up and being integrated in educational institutions family no longer presents a primary identification pattern to a child. Other factors interfere and effect child\u27s perspective of the world and delinquent behaviour which is most frequently seen at school. School is an educational institution with a ready-made educational plan and in case of a child\u27s delinquent behaviour it acts according to the alternative disciplinary measures and later on proper disciplinary measures. Consistent cooperation between parents and teachers is most important for a successful child\u27s and teenager\u27s development. For the purposes of this master thesis personal individual interview with the author herself has been carried out as we were interested in motifs for her academic path as well as her interests in this specific field, personal goals and contentment. Interviews with seven other associates of professor Majda Pšunder PhD have been carried out

Batorego 15 41-902 Bytom Keywords: leukotriene E4, infants, allergy, urine. Summary Objective LTE4 is the end point of cysLTs pathway and its only stable product. Its role was discussed in asthma and AEDS. We aimed to investigate the impact of genetic and environmental factors ( sex, maternal positive family atopy history, breastfeeding, passive smoking and pet exposure ). 60 newborns ( including 30 boys ) were enrolled in the study. Each child was examined at 12 months and urine samples for urinary LTE4 measurement were collected. All samples were processed using ACETM Enzyme Immunoassay Kit ( Cayman Chemical, Ann Arbor, MI, USA ). The mean level of urinary LTE4 at 12 months was 186,99 pg/ml ( median: 159,0; CI 95%: 157,79- 221,59 ). The Shapiro- Wilk test showed that the distribution of the levels of urinary LTE4 were abnormal. 12- month- old girls had higher urinary LTE4 levels than boys ( mean: 270,50 vs. 193,55 ), but maternal positive atopy history, pet exposure, tobacco smoking or length of breastfeeding had no impact on urinary LTE4 excretion. Conclusions In conclusion, most of genetic or environmental factors do not change levels of urinary LTE4 in infants
