dificultad respiratoria, dolor abdominal, decaimiento.
The following case report was conducted with a 4 year old cocker spaniel male
canine having a weight of 14 kg. The dog was brought to consultation because he
showed indications of ascites, in addition to respiratory distress, abdominal pain, and
decay. Clinical tests were applied such as hemogram, abdominal ultrasound,
abdominocentesis, and blood chemistry. According to the results, a therapeutic plan
was established where the patient showed a slight improvement for a few days;
however, the dog relapsed again. Because of the poor physical state of the patient,
it was decided to apply the euthanized and then the necropsy. Samples of some of
the affected organs were taken (i.e., liver and spleen) and sent to
immunohistochemistry to determine what type of cell B or T is the lymphoma. Based
on the immunohistochemistry results, the following presumptive diagnostic was
reached: lymphoplasmacytic, plasmoblastic lymphoma, and plasmacytoma. The
diagnosis of lymphoma is related to the type of lymphocyte present, the location of
the affected organ, the characteristic of the cell and the stage in which the
development of the disease is found
Neuroradiological findings in three cases of pontocerebellar hypoplasia type 9 due to AMPD2 mutation : typical MRI appearances and pearls for differential diagnosis
Pontocerebellar hypoplasia type 9 (PCH9) is a rare autosomal recessive neurodegenerative disorder with prenatal onset caused by mutations in adenosine monophosphate deaminase 2 (AMPD2). PCH9 patients demonstrate severe neurodevelopmental delay with early onset and typical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings consisting in: pontine hypoplasia or atrophy with dragonfly cerebellar atrophy appearance on coronal images, reduction in size of the pons and middle cerebellar peduncles, abnormal midbrain describing a figure of "8" on axial images, diffuse loss of cerebral white matter with striking periventricular leukomalacia (PVL), and absence or extreme thinning of the corpus callosum. A review of the literature on PCH9 shows that the MRI phenotype observed in the series herein presented is similar to the eleven cases of PCH9 previously reported. Finally, the main radiological elements which differentiate this diagnosis from other PCH subtypes are described
Dairy Plant Design, Construction and Operation
The design of a dairy processing plant requires knowledge of theproduct, process, economics, and hygienic design principles that ensure theproduction of a safe product. Upon developing a flow sheet of the plant, therequired equipment is identified. In dairy processing, certain equipment iscommon to all plants, such as tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, pipes, fittingsand valves, centrifuges, and homogenizers. Equipment specification is subjectto standards developed by the industry and government agencies and can also beassisted by the selection of equipment from the European Hygienic Engineeringand Design Group (EHEDG) list of certified equipment that has passed areference challenge test for cleanability. Another important aspect of plantdesign involves utilities, including steam, chilled water, hot water, electricity, and natural gas. The overall plant design must include a propercleaning- and disinfection-system, which is often operated in a clean-in-placemanner. Environmental concerns necessitate the use of a properly designed wastedisposal system. More details regarding these topics are provided in thisarticle.Fil: Singh, R. P.. This research analyzed 124 patients with canine mammary gland neoplasm which were attended during a one-year period in several veterinary clinics in Manizales, Colombia, including the Veterinary Hospital of the Caldas University. Forty-one cases (33.1%) did not have a report from the pathology laboratory, while 83 cases (66.9%) were diagnosed by a defining histological study. The results indicate a high appearance frequency of the Mixed Malignant Tumor in 21 cases (25.3%), followed by Carcinoma with 20 cases (24.1%), Benign Mixed Tumor 17 cases (20.5%), Adenomas 16 cases (19.3%) and other diagnosis 9 cases (10.8%). The largest filing of cases occurred in animals older than 7 years; and with regards to breeds, 53 patients were French Poodles, 15 mixed breeds, 9 Boxers, 6 Pinschers, 5 Cockers, 5 Labradors, and in less number, other breeds. However, it was proportionally established that the most affected dog breeds were French Poodle, Cocker, Boxer and Pinscher, while mixed breeds and Labradors showed a lower prevalence of the disease. Due to differences with other global reports, it can be concluded that it is important to continue with researches regarding risk factors, biology of tumor growth and epidemiology of these neoplasm in Manizales.

Chanua: A serious game for engaging young girls from a low-resource setting of Kenya in STEM education
The island of Lamu is a part of an archipelago in Kenya’s southeast. In comparison to other parts of Kenya and the rest of the globe, it is a remote and rural area where residents do not have the same access to contemporary educational materials. The Kenya Red Cross Society’s IOMe005 Innovation Hub attempts to combat these disparities by providing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) toolkits to the Lamu children. Generally speaking, STEM fields are frequently associated with stigmas and preconceptions that steer girls away from these disciplines. This phenomena also exists in Lamu, which may make it difficult for girls to respond to STEM toolkits provided in schools. The design goal of this project was therefore defined to design a serious board game which sparks the interest of the young girls of Lamu and help them feel confident when engaging in STEM education. The intervention should create positive interactions on which girls can fall back when facing stereotypes or other alike incidents. The report first presents the IOMe as the client of this project and Lamu as the area of study. The assignment of developing both the game and the method to design this game is then clarified, along with the approach adopted to carry out this project. The information needed to comprehend the design choices is provided by a review of the pertinent literature combined with observations and insights gathered from the research and design activities during the field trip. These insights concern the context of Lamu, the current situation regarding STEM education, the potential of playful learning, and especially serious games, for the solution space and finally existing methods for designing games. These methods inspired the development of a canvas which consists of two tools that guide the designers at the IOMe in generating concepts for serious games and evaluating them, respectively. This canvas is regarded as the method which supported the elaboration of the final game concept for this project. The findings of the field research also allowed to understand the needs and wishes of the end-users of the game, depict the current interactions they have with STEM and illustrate the desired situation to be achieved by this design intervention. Besides, they indicated the important requirements to be met by the final design. Next, the chosen concept for this project is then revealed. It is a board game which mirrors the environment of Lamu. Players start “at home” and must arrive “at school”, by moving their pawn on a path on the board, but encounter challenges on their way. These challenges are embedded in cards with questions that the players must answer to win points. The game encourages the girls to observe their surroundings critically and from a scientific point of view. A final prototype was tested with ten girls at a school of Lamu. The insights collected from the test enabled to make a preliminary evaluation of how well the final design performs with regards to the specified requirements. Furthermore, the design iterations which led to developing this final prototype are introduced. To conclude, the outcomes of this project have shown that CHANUA is well designed to not only meet the end user’s needs but also contribute to amplifying the client’s exposure to the community and empower secondary stakeholders. The game fits well in the context as it brings innovation with a new energy to a low-resource setting. Besides, the canvas serves as the first example of brainstorming tool specifically developed for the IOMe to keep on developing serious games. Finally, recommendations for future work, such as involving the outer social circles of the end users in such a project, are listed.Design for Interactio
