    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Membentuk Karakter Disiplin Anak Didik melalui Keteladanan Guru

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui usaha dari seorang guru dalam membentuk  karakter disiplin anak didik melalui keteladanan. Tidak adanya keteladanan guru bagi murid dapat berdampak negatif pada perkembangan karakter dan nilai-nilai pribadi murid. Dampak negatif tidak adanya keteladanan guru, siswa cenderung meniru perilaku negatif guru, Siswa kurang disiplin, Siswa kurang bertanggung jawab, Siswa kurang percaya diri, Siswa kurang mandiri. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penanaman karakter disiplin peserta anak didik bisa dibentuk melalui pembiasaan dan keteladanan dari seorang seorang guru dengan tujuan untuk mendidik dan membekali mereka agar kelak memiliki perilaku dan moral yang baik untuk dirinya sendiri, masyarakat, ataupun lingkungan sekitarnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur. Pembiasaan dapat menjadi tingkah laku serta karakter yang bersifat otomatis dan akan menjadi kepribadian yang luhur pada diri siswa dan keteladanan digunakan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai moral dan sosial pada anak. Pentingnya pembentukan karakter disiplin sejak dini pada peserta didik agar kelak anak dapat menjadi penerus bangsa yang memiliki moral dan perilaku yang bagus dan menjadi sumber daya manusia yang berkarakter baik.  Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah bahwa pembentukan karakter disiplin melalului keteladanan dari seorang guru untuk peserta didik dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai usaha dan upaya seperti mengajarkan, mengedukasi dan memberi contoh kepada peserta didik untuk datang dan pulang sekolah tepat waktu, patuh akan peraturan yang telah disepakati bersama, berucap dengan kata-kata yang baik dan benar, menetapkan aturan kelas, serta memantau perilaku kedisiplinan siswa di rumah melalui buku catatan amal yaumi atau kegiatan harian

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan hafalan Al-Qur'an pada mahasiswa di Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Al-Qur'an (STIQ) Isy Karima. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian dilakukan dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk menganalisis faktor internal dan eksternal yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan hafalan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi ilmiah dalam pengembangan metode pembelajaran tahfidz Al-Qur'an di perguruan tinggi berbasis pesantren, serta menjadi referensi bagi para penghafal Al-Qur'an dan musyrif dalam meningkatkan efektivitas program hafalan Al-Qur'an

    Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan yang mengajarkan nilai-nilai keagamaan. Oleh karenanya, pesantren berpotensi dalam membentuk karakter para santri sesuai dengna ajaran Islam. Salah satu sistem yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran di pondok pesantren adalah mulazamah, yaitu santri membersamai guru atau ustad sehingga dapat belajar secara langsung kepada ustadz. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memaparkan pelaksanaan sistem mulazamah di Darus Syahadah mengkaji pembentukan karakter santri melalui penerapan sistem Mulazamah di pondok pesantren Darus Syahadah, serta memaparkan faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelaksanaan sistem mulazamah di Darus Syahadah Boyolali. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskripsi kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara, serta dokumentasi untuk mendukung kebutuhan penelitian. Analisis data Teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan serta verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian penerapan sistem mulazamah meliputi Perencanaan, Pengorganisasian, Pelaksanaan; hingga Pengevaluasian. Karakter yang dibangung adalah karakter hormat kepada guru, semangat belajar, dan mentalitas bekerja dan berjuang.     AbstractTh e purpose of this study is to describe the management of school-based philanthropy on SMK Gratis Smart Informatika Surakarta. Th e study used a qualitative approach to the design of ethnography. Data were collected through observation, documentation and in-depth interviews with a variety of sources, Solopeduli Foundation, Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers, Employees, Students and Parents Students. Th e information collected is around management of schools ranging from school strategic plans, operational plans, school programs, fund management, human resources, learning management, monitoring, evaluation, and so forth. Th e data has been collected and then analyzed with a model Miles-Hubberman. Th e results showed that the presence of Solopeduli foundation as Islamic philanthropic institutions to make the school as a unit management program has a distinctive character that sharia management. Poverty, sincerity and concern used as view point institutions in organizing employees, equalizing step, build unity and establish sincerity in work. Donors, donations, and the mandate of the donors is said lighter so that raises self control and supervision of the divine. Th is is what makes the activities run e? ectively and e? sient.     Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
