    Measurement of the mass difference m(B-0)-m(B+)

    No full text
    Using 230 x 10(6) B (B) over bar events recorded with the BABAR detector at the e(+)e(-) storage rings PEP-II, we reconstruct approximately 4100 B-0 -> J/psi K+pi(-) and 9930 B+ -> J/psi K+ decays with J/psi -> mu(+)mu(-) and e(+)e(-). From the measured B-momentum distributions in the e(+)e(-) rest frame, we determine the mass difference m(B-0) - m(B+) = (+0.33 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.03) MeV/c(2)

    Search for f(J)(2220) in radiative J/psi decays

    No full text
    We present a search for f(J)(2220) production in radiative J/psi --> gamma f(J)(2220) decays using 460 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e(+)e(-) collider. The f(J)(2220) is searched for in the decays to K+K- and (KSKS0)-K-0. No evidence of this resonance is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the branching fractions for J/psi --> gamma f(J)(2220) and f(J)(2220) --> K+K-((KSKS0)-K-0) as a function of spin and helicity are set at the level of 10(-5), below the central values reported by the Mark III experiment

    We present a study of the decays B0,+→J/ψωK0,+ using 383×106 BB̅ events obtained with the BABAR detector at PEP-II. We observe Y(3940)→J/ψω, with mass 3914.6-3.4+3.8(stat)±2.0(syst)  MeV/c2, and width 34-8+12(stat)±5(syst)  MeV. The ratio of B0 and B+ decay to YK is 0.27-0.23+0.28(stat)-0.01+0.04(syst), and the relevant B0 and B+ branching fractions are reported

    No full text
    We study the rare B meson decays B-+/-,B-0 -> J/psi(K+K-K +/-,0), B-+/-,B-0 -> J/psi phi K-+/-,K-0, and search for B-0 -> J/psi phi, using 469 x 10(6) B (B) over bar events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) asymmetric energy collider. We present new measurements of branching fractions and a study of the J/psi phi mass distribution in search of new charmonium-like states. In addition, we search for the decay B-0 -> J/psi phi and find no evidence of a signal

    Dalitz Plot Analyses of J/ψ→π+π−π0 , J/ψ→K+K−π0 , and J/ψ→Ks0K±π∓ Produced via E+e− Annihilation with Initial-State Radiation

    We study the processes e+e-→γISRJ/ψ, where J/ψ→π+π-π0, J/ψ→K+K-π0, and J/ψ→KS0K±π∓ using a data sample of 519 fb-1 recorded with the BABAR detector operating at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at center-of-mass energies at and near the Υ(nS) (n=2,3,4) resonances. We measure the ratio of branching fractions R1=B(J/ψ→K+K-π0)B(J/ψ→π+π-π0) and R2=B(J/ψ→KS0K±π∓)B(J/ψ→π+π-π0). We perform Dalitz plot analyses of the three J/ψ decay modes and measure fractions for resonances contributing to the decays. We also analyze the J/ψ→π+π-π0 decay using the Veneziano model. We observe structures compatible with the presence of ρ(1450) in all three J/ψ decay modes and measure the relative branching fraction: R(ρ(1450))=B(ρ(1450)→K+K-)B(ρ(1450)→π+π-)=0.307±0.084(stat)±0.082(sys)

    We present a study of the decays B-0,B-+ -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-)pi K-0(0,+), using 467 x 106 B (B) over bar pairs recorded with the BABAR detector. We present evidence for the decay mode X(3872) -> J/psi omega, with product branching fractions B(B+ -> X(3872K(+)) x B(X(3872) -> J/psi omega) = [0.6 +/- 0.2(stat) +/- 0.1(syst)] x 10(-5), and B(B-0 -> X(3872)K-0) x B(X(3872) -> J/psi omega) = [0.6 +/- 0.3(stat) +/- 0.1(syst)] x 10(-5). A detailed study of the pi(+) pi(-) pi(0) mass distribution from X(3872) decay favors a negative-parity assignment

    We report the observation of the B meson decay B±→J/ψηK± and evidence for the decay B0→J/ψηKS0, using 90×106 BB̅ events collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e+e- asymmetric-energy storage ring. We obtain branching fractions of B(B±→J/ψηK±)=[10.8±2.3(stat)±2.4(syst)]×10-5 and B(B0→J/ψηKS0)=[8.4±2.6(stat)±2.7(syst)]×10-5. We search for the new narrow mass state, the X(3872), recently reported by the Belle Collaboration, in the decay B±→X(3872)K±,X(3872)→J/ψη and determine an upper limit of B[B±→X(3872)K±→J/ψηK±]<7.7×10-6 at 90% confidence level

    We study the decays B-0 -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-) and B+-> J/psi pi(+)pi(0), including intermediate resonances, using a sample of 382x10(6) B (B) over bar pairs recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) B factory. We measure the branching fractions B(B-0 -> J/psi rho(0))=(2.7 +/- 0.3 +/- 0.2)x10(-5) and B(B+-> J/psi rho(+))=(5.0 +/- 0.7 +/- 0.3)x10(-5). We also set the following upper limits at the 90% confidence level: B(B-0 -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-) nonresonant) J/psi f(2)) J/psi pi(+)pi(0) nonresonant)< 7.3x10(-6). We measure the charge asymmetry in charged B decays to J/psi rho to be -0.11 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.08
