A road map to assess critical materials content in boron industrial wastes using sustainable micro-X-ray fluorescence and total reflection X-ray fluorescence instrumentation
WOS: 000582495800002Turkey is the leading country in the world in terms of boron production and sale. Increasing boron production goes along with an increasing generation of boron wastes. The pollution of the soil and the air around the waste piles, as well as the occupation of several square kilometers of ground, are major environmental problems. It is, therefore, very important to snake use of the wastes to both protect the environment and create revenue. This work presenteda road map for fast screening of boron waste for critical elements followed by determination of the elements using small footprint low power instrumentation. The sample preparation was kept to a minimum. A procedure that allowed an assessment of critical materials in industrial production waste with minimal consumption of hazardous acids, energy, and time was presented. The samples were first screened for valuable and hazardous elements by micro- X-ray fluorescence (XRF). Samples with considerable contents of Cs, Rb, and Aswere then prepared as slurries for the total reflection XRF (TXRF) measurement. To evaluate the TXRI: procedure, a standard reference material was analyzed. As a result, Rb and Cs in concentrations up to 420 +/- 70 and 1500 +/- 200 mg/kg were detected in some of the waste forms. Liquid structure of Rb-Hg alloys studied by neutron diffraction
The structures of liquid Rb–Hg alloys were studied as a function of composition by neutron diffraction. In the intermediate Rb concentration range, the obtained structure factors show a small prepeak, which may be an evidence of the formation of Hg polyanion units in liquids. The Reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) analysis was applied to separate the total radial distribution function into the corresponding partial radial distribution functions. Up to 10 at.% Rb, no obvious changes are found for the first peak position of the partial radial distribution functions of the Hg–Hg pair and that of the Hg–Rb pair. The first peak position between the Hg–Rb pairs increases above 20 at.% Rb. In addition to the first peak, a subpeak between Hg–Hg pairs can be seen in the large distance. At 60 at.% Rb, the nearest neighbor distance between Hg atoms shows the closest value in the concentration range studied. These results indicate that with the progress of charge transfer the solvation structure in the dilute Rb concentration range changes into the structure containing polyanions composed of Hg species
Evaluasi Penggunaan Sucker Rod Pump Pada Sumur Rb-36 Rb- 91, Dan Rb-135 Dengan Menggunakan Data Sonolog Dan Dynamometer Untuk Meningkatkan Produksi Di PT Pertamina Ep Asset 1 Field Ramba
Secara umum metode produksi dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu sembur alam (natural flow) dan pengangkatan buatan (artificiallift). Sembur alam merupakan metoda mengalirnya fluida dari zona perforasi ke permukaan sumur secara alamiah, halini disebabkan tekanan reservoir yang mendorong fluida naik ke permukaan masih sangat tinggi. Seiring dengan waktuberproduksi, maka terjadi penurunan tekanan reservoir dan keadaan ini menyebabkan berkurangnya tingkat produksisumur tersebut, maka untuk mengatasi masalah ini dapat dilakukan dengan cara pengangkatan buatan (artificial lift).Adapun tujuan dari artificial lift adalah untuk membantu pengangkatan fluida dari dalam sumur ke permukaan. Salahsatu metode pengangkatan ini, yaitu sucker rod pump. Untuk meningkatkkan produktivitas suatu pompa sucker rod pumpperlu diperhatikan kapasitas produksi pompa,panjang langkah, kecepatan pemompaan maupun letak kedalaman pompa.Sumur RB-36, RB-91, dan RB-135 adalah sumur migas yang terdapat di lapangan Ramba, PT Pertamina EP Asset 1Field Ramba. Berdasarkan analisis kurva IPR Vogel diperoleh laju produksi maksimal (Qmaks) untuk masing-masingsumur, yaitu RB-36 sebesar 612,18 BFPD, RB-91 sebesar 336,18 BFPD dan RB-135 sebesar 306,70 BFPD, sedangkandari data sonolog diperoleh bahwa produksi sumur RB-36 sebesar 485 BFPD, RB-91 sebesar 257 BFPD dan RB-135sebesar 236 BFPD. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan optimasi yang telah dilakukan diperoleh besar laju produksi yangdapat dicapai sumur RB-36 sebesar 500 BFPD, sumur RB-91 sebesar 283 BFPD dan sumur RB-135 sebesar 270 BFPD.Dari hasil uji dynamometer akan diperoleh data pump card ketiga sumur tersebut. Dari analisis data pump card ketigasumur tu diperoleh bahwa sumur RB-36 mengalami fluid acceleration, sumur RB-91 mengalami kebocoran padatravelling valve, sedangkan untuk RB-135 mengalami kerusakan pada standing valvenya
Fractional Edge Cover Number of Model RB
Model RB is a random constraint satisfaction problem with a growing domain size, which exhibits exact phase transition phenomena. Many hard instances with planted solutions can be generated via Model RB, to be used as benchmarks for algorithmic competitions and researches. In the past, some structural parameters of constraint hypergraphs are analyzed to show hardness of Model RB, such as hinge width, decycling number, treewidth, and hypertree width. In this paper, one more structural parameter of constraint hypergraphs of Model RB, namely the fractional edge cover number, is analyzed. We show upper and lower bounds on the fractional edge cover number of Model RB. In particular, the fractional edge cover number of Model RB is shown to be asymptotically linear in the number of variables, like hinge width, decycling number, treewidth and hypertree width. Indices of apoptosis and proliferation as potential prognostic markers in non-functioning pituitary adenomas
OBJECTIVE: Non-functioning pituitary adenomas (NFAs) are a distinct group of pituitary adenomas, which comprise approximately 20% of pituitary adenomas. Although most pituitary adenomas are benign, there is a subset of adenomas that behaves in an aggressive fashion, with either invasion of the surrounding structures or recurrence. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the behaviour of NFAs can be predicted using immunohistochemical markers that label proliferating and apoptotic cells, including a new marker for apoptosis (M30 CytoDEATH). This is the first study to analyse both the proliferation labelling index (LI) and the apoptotic index (AI) in NFAs and to correlate the labelling indices of these histological markers with tumor growth rate as measured by 2 postoperative MRI scans. MATERIAL AND METHODS: 40 patients in total were included in the study. 20 patients with high growth rate and percentage change in the pituitary adenoma volume as assessed on 2 postoperative MRI scans were age/sex matched to 20 patients with low growth rate or percentage change.RESULTS: There is no significant statistical difference of the histological and immunohistochemical indices assessed between cases and controls.CONCLUSION: The routine assessment of the proliferation and the apoptotic markers used in this study in NFAs has no prognostic value

Makaralı perdahlama işleminin dublex ve 316L paslanmaz çeliklerinin yüzey bütünlüğü ve mekanik özellikleri üzerindeki etkileri
Roller burnishing (RB) or deep rolling is a mechanical surface treatment method to enhance the surface integrity of manufactured components which affects component’s performance. Although there are some valuable researches on the effects of RB on different materials, there is no comprehensive investigation about roller burnishing of duplex stainless steel (DSS) and 316L stainless steel, in a comparative manner. The main purpose of the present thesis is to reveal the effect of RB on surface integrity and mechanical properties of duplex and 316L stainless steel. In order to understand the effect of RB parameters on surface integrity, Taguchi L9 (34) experimental design method was utilized. The changes in microstructure, surface microhardness, and surface roughness were measured after the RB process and the optimized parameters for the maximum surface microhardness (condition H) and the minimum surface roughness (condition R) were determined. It was shown that bur nishing created a refined surface layer up to 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm, enhanced surface microhardness to 118%, and 147%, and reduced surface roughness to 52%, and 40% of the initial values, respectively for DSS and 316L. Ambient temperature tensile tests were performed and the results revealed no no table improvement in yield and tensile strengths after the RB process. On the other hand, significant enhancements were observed in the cyclic performance after the bur nishing process. Subsequently, the results of high cycle fatigue (HCF) tests revealed that the cyclic performance of the burnished sample with H condition was signifi cantly higher than those of both unburnished and condition R samples, especially at low-stress amplitudes. Besides, fracture surface analysis exposed the restriction of crack initiation and propagation in the hardened surface layer. Subsequently, the re sults of reciprocating wear tests unveiled a significant increase in wear resistance after the burnishing process. It was detected that the condition H samples have superior wear resistance in hard abrasive cases, while condition R samples are more resistive in soft abrasive conditions.Makaralı perdahlama i¸slemi, i¸s par¸casının performansını etkileyen y¨uzey b¨ut¨unlu˘g¨un¨u iyile¸stirmek amacı ile uygulanan mekanik bir y¨uzey geli¸stirme y¨ontemidir. Aneuploidy in spermatids of Robertsonian (Rb) chromosome heterozygous mice
© 2014, The Author(s). Rb translocations are chromosomal rearrangements frequently found in natural populations of the house mouse Mus musculus domesticus. The standard diploid karyotype of the house mouse consisting of 40 telocentric chromosomes may be reduced by the emergence of metacentric Rb chromosomes. Multiple simple Rb heterozygotes form trivalents exhibiting higher anaphase nondisjunction frequency and consequently higher number of unbalanced gametes than in normal males. This work will attempt to establish whether frequencies of aneuploidy observed in heterozygote spermatids of the house mouse M. musculus domesticus show differences in chromosomes derived from different trivalents. Towards this goal, the number and distribution frequency of aneuploidy was assessed via FISH staining of specific chromosomes of spermatids derived from 2n = 32 individuals.
