No full textDespite the need of involving users in design decisions, participants cannot always easily follow and contribute to design. Democratizing design decisions is not easy due to the missing connections between the background information and how this is reflected to design practice. Habitus of design inspiration (HODI) is a design presentation technique, presented with an example use process that deals with this issue. It visually connects design rationale to design artefact. HODI is useful to for both designer - designer and designer - non-designer communications. Making the sources visible and available for reflection can help better communication and co-design of the solutions and support documentation practices in design practices. This paper presents a four- layer technique (HODI) for associating background data with design iterations. An exploratory user study shows how participants used the information in different layouts to both generate and iterate on design ideas, and its effect on the trajectories of ideas. CHILab at HODI: A minimalist approach
Get PDFThis technical report illustrates the system developed by the CHILab team for the competition HODI at EVALITA 2023. The key idea of the method we proposed for the HODI Subtask A - Homotransphobia detection, was to develop different systems arranged as suitable combinations of Pre-Trained Language Model (PTLM) for embedding extraction, neural architectures for further elaborations over the embeddings and a classifier. In particular dense layers, LSTM, BiLSTM and Transformers were used as neural architectures. The best performing system across the ones investigated in this report was made by embeddings extracted via AlBERTo coupled with a Transformer that reaches a macro-F1 score of 0.753

No full textThe article discusses the role of early scientific activity of the scientist Hodi Tillaevich Zarifov in his formation as a researcher and in the development of a mature scientist, as well as his entry into the field, as a collector of folklore. In the early years of his scientific career, that is, in 1926–1930, Hodi Zarif, wrote traditional and modern epics, many examples of other genres of folklore, and the main role in the scientific activity of this period is the development of methods of recording folklore samples, the creation of a clear system of recording the pronunciation of folk art samples in writing. Therefore, in the early years of his career, the future scientist paid special attention to the development of guidelines for recording folk art, the preparation of instructions for folklore expeditions, and in 1934 published a methodological work entitled “Dictionary and a guide for term collectors.” Although it is the first methodological work in this field, it remains the only one for now. HODI at EVALITA 2023:Overview of the first Shared Task on Homotransphobia Detection in Italian
Get PDFHODI is a new shared task for the automatic detection of homotransphobia in Italian presented at EVALITA 2023. The challenge is organized into two subtasks: Subtask A focuses on the binary textual classification of homotransphobic tweets, while Subtask B is concerned with the identification of”rationales” for explainability in the form of textual spans of text. We have received a total of 19 runs for Subtask A and 5 runs for Subtask B from a total of 8 participating teams from 6 different countries. We present here an overview of the HODI shared task, the datasets, the evaluation methodology, the results obtained by the participants, and a discussion of the methodology adopted by the teams.</p
