    Complex entanglements: Moving from policy to public sociology in the Arab world

    In this article, the author surveys his own career to illustrate some of the dilemmas of research, especially when it assumes a critical and public face. He shows how his work on Palestinian refugees, their socioeconomic rights, their right of return and their camps evolved toward complex forms of traditional and organic public sociology. The article concludes with reflections on one of the major dilemmas researchers face: conducting public research without losing its critical edge, even toward the deprived groups it seeks to protect.     Explaining spacio-cide in the Palestinian territory: Colonization, separation, and state of exception

    This article argues that the Israeli colonial project is 'spacio-cidal' (as opposed to genocidal) in that it targets land for the purpose of rendering inevitable the 'voluntary' transfer of the Palestinian population primarily by targeting the space upon which the Palestinian people live. The spacio-cide is a deliberate ideology with unified rational, albeit dynamic process because it is in constant interaction with the emerging context and the actions of the Palestinian resistance.     KONTRIBUSI HASAN HANAFI DALAM KAJIAN USHUL FIQH

    Hasan Hanafi is an expert on Islamic law who had the idea of reconstruction usul fiqh. Min Al-Nash ila Al-Waqi, written by him as the reconstruction effort, continuing the spirit of creativity, Al-Risala, Al-Mushtashfā and Al-Muwāfaqāt. Min Al-Nash ila Al-Waqi' written to undermine the claims of Islamic law to disappear the public good (al-mashāliħ al-' ammah). The entire reconstruction project of Hanafi had been referred as a result of application of the phenomenological method. Hanafi called tahlil manhaj al-khabarāt, comparable to manāhij al-ta'wil, manāhij al-nazhar, manāhij al-żauq, manāhij al-tahlil al-lughawī and other methods of classical Islamic creations. Through the philosophy of phenomenology, hermeneutics Gadamerian, Hanafi appreciate the application of the themes and traditions of thought, but in the context of Al-Quran and Al-Sunnah. Hanafi recommends usul fiqh as sacra hermeneutica, the specific case of general hermeneutics. Hanafi, divides methodological-epistemological consciousness of usul fiqh into three-dimensional consciousness; historical consciousness (la conscience historique), eidetic consciousness (la conscience eidetique), and the active awareness (la conscience active). Hanafi finds methodological shift that can be read from configuration changes chapter and logical structure of usul fiqh texts shift. This changes was seen in Al-Mustashfa, work of al-Ghazali (d. 505 H) and Al-Muwāfaqā,t work of Al-Syatibi (d. 790 H)

This research aim to determinate the level of use of Amoniazed of oil palm frond to performance of Brahman Cross. This research held in Jalan Serba Jadi Pasar I Marelan Raya, Medan on December 2010 until January 2011 that use randomize block design by three treatmeants,P1= 100% grasses + concentrate without amoniazed oil palm frond, P2= 80% grasses + concentrate contained 20% amoniazed palm oil frond and P3= 60% grasses + concentrate contained 40% amoniazed palm oil frond. The parameters observed were feed consumption, daily weight gain and feed conversion. The results of this research indicated the traetmeants were P1, P2, P3 showed non significantly different (P>0.05) with averages for feed consumption (4206,92 ± 317,84 g/head/day, respectively) and the average daily gain (315,28 ± 42,37 g/head/day, respectively) and feed conversion ration (14,75 ± 0,35).50 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan

Skripsi Program Studi Sastra Arab Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta Penelitian ini membahas konsep pembaruan Islam pemikiran Hassan Hanafi dalam upaya membangkitkan kembali kejayaan umat Islam dan kritik tradisi Islam menurut pemikiran Hassan Hanafi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif yang disajikan secara deskriptif, yaitu mendeskripsikan pemikiran Kiri Islam Hassan Hanafi yaitu Revitalisasi tradisi Islam, Oksidentalisme, sikap terhadap realitas dunia Islam, kritik tradisi Islam, reinterpretasi tradisi klasik Islam dan hermeneutika al-Qur’an. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat ditarik kesimpulan:Pertama, Hassan Hanafi menawarkan konsep pembaharuan Islam dengan Kiri Islam sebagai solusi untuk memecahkan masalah yang dihadapi umat Islam. Kedua, Pemikiran Kiri Islam mengajak umat Islam secara kritis mengkaji tradisi Islam yang tidak sesuai dengan realitas zaman. Kata kunci: Tradisi, Pemikiran dan Pemikiran Kiri Islam
