    Get PDF
Purpose – The text aims to present the results of the analysis on the state of knowledge on Customer Education (CE) and propose future research directions in market‑ ing area. The filtering criteria was the chance to apply the gathered information in the marketing area. Research method – The method of the systematic literature review was applied. Regarding customer education keywords, I examined two databases (SCOPUS and Web of Science). Then the results were analysed with the assistance of VOSviewer and using content analysis (qualitative research). A total number of 79 articles was analysed. Results – Customer Education (CE) is rarely examined, especially in marketing. The concept evolves from instructions to co-creation. Bibliographic analysis shows the relation of CE with CX, customer satisfaction and loyalty to the organisation when it aims for internal and external customers. Originality /value/implications/recommendations – Due to the novelty of the problem and its development in business, it is worth stimulating debate on CE in science. The paper aims to fill a gap in literature reviews on the issue and might be a voice in pointing out future research directions. Future research can gravitate toward new channels of CE, learning communities, and the relationship between CE and: customer behaviour, CX, application of AI and data mining, and usage of learning management systems (LMS)[email protected] of LodzAbosag I., Baker T.L., Hall K.L., Voulgari A.-D., Zheng X., 2017, Antecedents and Consequences of Liking in Retail Service Relationships in China and Greece, “International Business Review”, No. 26(3), pp. 566–578. Implications of pocket money on young clients’ shopping decisions : international comparison

    Get PDF
PURPOSE: The paper’s main goal was to diagnose the customer behaviour of young customers in terms of the pocket money they receive.DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: Along with the changes in the role of children in the family, their role in the purchasing process is also growing. Autonomous decisions of children are related not only to the perception of their role in the family but also to the fact that they start receiving pocket money. Despite that – the analysis of children’s customer behaviour is neglected. After the systemic literature review, desk research was conducted (including the scientific papers and business literature).FINDINGS: The key findings were that the amount of money children receive grows as children get older. Young clients prefer spending their money on sweets and toys, but as time passes – they change their preferences toward online products. Similarly, older children more often receive online money instead of cash. Pocket money is correlated positively with overweight, self-destructive behaviours and more extensive economic awareness and knowledge.PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The negative impact of pocket money on children's health, such as increased use of electronic devices and obesity, is also a key element to be addressed through social activities. Corporate social responsibility could strengthen financial education by incorporating health education initiatives.ORIGINALITY/VALUE: A systematic literature review and a desk research method to analyze the spending behavior of children regarding pocket money.peer-reviewe

Kieszonkowe – narzędzie edukacji finansowej czy czynnik ryzyka chorób cywilizacyjnych

    Get PDF
Przeprowadzone badania pozwoliły ustalić, iż: wysokość otrzymywanego kieszonkowego rośnie wraz z wiekiem, nadal dzieci głównie wydają pieniądze na słodycze i zabawki, jednak zaczynają grawitować w kierunku produktów elektronicznych.

    Get PDF
At the beginning of the series of Augustine’s earliest extant literary works are the three philosophical dialogues Contra Academicos, De beata vita and De ordine, which were composed in the autumn of 386 during Augustine’s otium philosophandi in Cassiciacum. In the introductions of all three works, the marine metaphors are widely used. The author compares human life with a stormy sea and sees as the only salvation the port of philosophy. In beata v. 1. 2 Augutin compares the people to whom philosophy can accommodate with navigantes, which he groups in tria genera. Although the people who belong to the respective group are described in detail, the author does not mention names. This arouses research interest and justifies the attempt to propose a representing person for each group. The present work sets itself the goal by parallel reading of beata v. 1. 2, with some passages from Cicero’s Epistulae, Tusculanae disputationes and De officiis to make a new proposal. And this in addition to the currently existing assumption that Romanianus, to whom the dialogue Contra Academicos is dedicated, should be considered as a representative of the second group of seafarers. However, the author of the present work now ventures a completely new approach, in which Cicero can be accepted as a representative of this group

Percepcja sztucznej inteligencji przez klientów centrów nauki

    No full text
Purpose: The aim of the article is an attempt to answer the question of customers’ knowledge on AI and its application in marketing. Design/methodology/approach: In-depth interviews with 203 people (residents of Lodzkie and Mazowieckie voivodships) who visited a science center at least once were conducted in 2019. In the sampling, the snowball effect was used. The problems concerning artificial intelligence were a part of bigger research (other matters were focused on omnichannel environment and wearables). Findings: The research results showed that respondents understand the term “artificial intelligence” (AI) in a highly intuitive manner, which often remains in conflict with the classical meaning of the term. The perception of scope and usage of AI is based mainly on stereotypes and representations sourced in mass media. The main advantages of AI noticed by respondents were time savings and offers better adjusted to their needs, while the major disadvantages were the limitation of choice in terms of preferred products (for example, during online shopping) and threats of data leaks. Respondents were supporters of usage of AI in marketing in the scope limited by law. Research limitations/implications: The usage of non-probabilistic sampling, a relatively small sample and the usage of qualitative analysis methods were major limitations of the conducted research. As the research resorted only to the people with previous experiences with science centers’ offer, the possibility to generalize research results was restricted (due to the specific profile of those entities’ customers). Originality/value: The presented paper is a part of the research area related to the usage of new technologies in cultural institutions, especially science centers’ marketing activities. The research was aimed at diagnosing how respondents understand the term “artificial intelligence” and what their attitude towards the usage of AI in marketing is. The cognitive value of the paper might also be seen in the focus on a relatively narrow and homogenous group of respondents (science centers’ customers). The reason is relatively low popularity of research in that group and their bigger knowledge and technology acceptance (as compared to the general public).Cel: próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: jaki jest poziom wiedzy klientów centrów nauki na temat sztucznej inteligencji oraz możliwości jej wykorzystania w marketingu. Metodologia: w roku 2019 przeprowadzono wywiady indywidualne pogłębione na próbie 203 respondentów (mieszkańców województwa łódzkiego oraz mazowieckiego), którzy przynajmniej raz odwiedzili centrum nauki. W rekrutacji osób do próby badawczej zastosowano efekt kuli śniegowej.

    Get PDF
The objective of this paper is to analyse Aleksander Świętochowski’s debut novella series O życie [Oh Life], with particular emphasis on the opening novella. The reflections focus on Damian Capenko, a novella showcasing its relationship with the worldview of the second half of the 19th century and tendentious literature. The author proposes an interpretation of the work in the light of Dumania pesymisty [Musings of a Pessimist], an earlier series of texts by Świętochowski, one of the most outstanding creators of Positivist literature in Poland. As a result of the analyses, the relationship between the texts and the initial ideas of the Polish Positivism programme is explained, along with the apparent artistic inconsistency of the series.

It belongs to the group of disease that increase the risk of occurrence of cardiovascular complications, which if left untreated can lead to sudden death. It is estimated that in Poland currently 32% of the population suffers from arterial hypertension. Despite great progress in the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension, it is still a huge medical-socio-economic problem. Increasing the emphasis on patient education can significantly affect self-control, adaptation to recommendations and, consequently, in the future perspective will reduce the mortality rate among patients with this disease. The aim of this work is to draw attention to the still present problems of patients with hypertension by presenting the currently valid definition, epidemiology, etiology of the disease, complications and methods of treatment. Key words: arterial hypertension, definition, epidemiology, etiology, complications, treatmen

Nuove acquisizioni sullo Specchio di Illuminazione della Beata Illuminata Bembo

The discovery of some fifteenth-century manuscripts of the Specchio di Illuminazione of Beata Bembo in the so-called “Archivio della Beata Caterina”, kept in the Archbishop’s General Archive of Bologna, has opened up new and completely unexpected perspectives on the hagiography of St. Catherine of Vigri, revealing a multiform and complex evolution of this work. Two new editions have emerged, different from the one known so far: one shorter and widely epitomized, the second longer, with significant inserts, concentrated mainly in chapters VI-IX. Based on some significant clues, the author hypothesizes that this drafting chronologically precedes that of the so-called “autograph” and that it has been the subject of a series of second thoughts and complaints by the author herself or her circle. Some 16th century codices have also emerged, witnesses of the drafting known so far, but not without interest. Very recent paleographic studies had questioned the real autography of the edited manuscript. A first examination of the new acquisitions seems to confirm that they do not derive from the “autograph”, presenting several lessons and disjunctive errors.

Omnichannel environment — phenomena, processes and the directions of change

    No full text
Omnichannel as a concept was introduced to the business practice due to the development of multichannel actions and their integration. This paper aims to identify processes and phenomena occurring in an omnichannel environment in the past years (2020–2022) and their evaluation based on the literature. We used the literature review method, focusing mainly on two professional journals: Total Retail and Multichannel Merchant. Based on the literature studies, we can say that in the analysed period, the major issues discussed were the extension of customer experience and personalisation of contact, development of offered ways of delivery (including the curbside delivery or 'dock and load') and payment methods (including m-payments), the need for more frequent actualisation of POS solutions, changes in the way in which stock and supplier relations are managed, implementation of new technologies (such as headless e-commerce and Progressive Web Application [PWA]), development of contact-less shopping and further development of sustainable commerce
