The conventional and agile software development process models are proposed and used nowadays in software industry to meet emergent requirements of the customers. Conventional software development models such as Waterfall, V model and RUP have been predominant in industry until mid 1990s, but these models are mainly focused on extensive planning, heavy documentation and team expertise which suit only to medium and large scale projects. The Rational Unified Process is one of the widely used conventional models. Agile process models got attention of the software in-dustry in last decade due to limitations of conventional models such as slow adaptation to rapidly changing business requirements and they overcome problems of schedule and cost. Extreme Programming is one of the most useful agile methods that provide best engineering practices for a good quality product at small scale. XP follows the iterative and incremental approach, but its key focus is on programming, and reusability becomes arduous. In this paper, we present characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of RUP and XP process models, and propose a new hybrid software develop-ment model eXRUP (eXtreme Programming and Rational Unified Process), which integrates the strengths of RUP an

Abnormal Microvascular Reactivity with Hypercholesterolaemia in Pregnancy

Background: Post-occlusive skin reactive hyperaemia (PORH) is a model used to assess microvascular reactivity. This study aims to compare PORH response among pregnant hypercholesterolaemic patients with age and gestational age-matched controls. Methods: This cross sectional study involved 17 hypercholesterolaemic, pregnant women and 20 pregnant controls entering their early third trimester. Laser Doppler fluximetry (LDF) was used to measure skin perfusion. The process of PORH was performed by occluding the upper arm with an occlusion cuff at 200 mmHg for 3 minutes. Skin perfusion was recorded before, during, and after occlusion release. Baseline perfusion, time to achieve peak perfusion (Tp), peak perfusion after occlusion release (PORHpeak), and maximum change in perfusion due to occlusion (PORHmax) were recorded. Results: Serum total cholesterol (TC) was significantly different (P < 0.001) between the 2 groups: 7.25 (SEM 0.18) mmol/L for hypercholesterolaemic women and 5.54 (SEM 0.15) mmol/L for the control group. There were no significant differences in their baseline, PORHpeak , and PORHmax. However, Tp in the hypercholesterolaemic group was significantly increased (P = 0.024) compared with the controls at 14.9 (SEM 0.6) seconds and 13.1 (SEM 0.5) seconds, respectively. Conclusion: Pregnant hypercholesterolaemic patients showed an abnormal microvascular reactivity response. Tp with ischemia was significantly increased compared with normocholesterolaemic controls

صورة الحرمين الشريفين في رحلة علي الطنطاوي وغلام رسول مهر (دراسة مقارنة): The Image of Two Holy Places in travelogues of Ali Tantawi and Ghulam Rasool Mehar

The Travelogue is a literary category that shows the conditions of nations or peoples in terms of history, geography, civilization, politics, economy and culture. At a time when modern communication tools were not, trips were an important and essential source for obtaining information about different places and societies. Travelogue provides chance to learn more, and it is not just a recording of evidence, but rather sheds light on aspects of life such as feelings, emotions, events and others. And Muslims make their journey to the Two Holy Places for various purposes such as Hajj, Umrah and visits to the different holy places in them. Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam. The trip of the Two Holy Places, with its different types, differs from other trips, because it includes spiritual and faith meanings. And longing for God and His Messenger, may God bless Him and grant Him peace. We conducted a comparative study between the Travelogues "Nafhat Al-Harm" by Sheikh Ali Al-Tantawi, and "Safar Hijaz" by Ghulam Rasool Mehar. Comparison is a fertile source of human knowledge, and it leads essential facts in the very subject. The article compares the travelogues in their depiction of history, religion, politics, geography and society. For this purpose, the main focus is on the style, description, narration and characters in both of the travelogues. The article consists of four sections. The first section provides an introduction of both Travelogues and their summaries. The second section presents a comparison of both travelogues in terms of their subjects. The third section is devoted to compare the travelogues in terms of style and narration, while the last section provides the conclusion

Allama Ghulam Rasool Saeedi was one of the great scholars and writer in his period. And all his services in Islam has rendered in research field in the light of examples in his own time. No other religious scholar has done much research work religiously as Allama Ghulam Rasool Saeedi has done properly. However, all of his research work is covered eproximately, sixty thousand pages. He has achieved an important place in Urdu enlightenments. We can also call his this Tafseer (Tibiyan-ul-Quran) as Tafsir-ul-Quran-e-Hadith which consists of twelve volumes. For example, what Shari'ah ruling on video and video images? Gun hunting research? Proof of acquiring scientific knowledge from Qur'an and Hadith? Shariah order of postmortem? Medical science research on plague? And hundreds of other such issues are included in his written Tafseer Tabian-ul-Quran

This article presents a selection (with annotations) of Maulana Ghulam Rasool Mehr's correspondence with Syed Sulaiman Nadvi, Syed Abu al-Hasan Ali Nadvi and Masood Alam Nadvi that took place while he was collecting material for Syed Ahmad Barelvi Shaheed's biography. These letters not only shed light on Mehr's quest for the facts but also on some important information about Syed Ahmad Shaheed's life

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
