What is gateball anyway? Well, it's a game not unlike croquet invented to address the lack of healthy recreation for Japanese youth. Back in 1947, rubber was expensive, but wood was cheap, so Suzuki Kazunobu came up with a game where players use mallets to knock wooden balls through gates. This slow-moving sport was a flop with the young, but was embraced by the elderly, becoming something of the shuffleboard of Japan. By the 1990s, it was so popular that the police became concerned over reports of white-haired gateballers forcing kids out of parks and fights between geriatric players. The purpose of this research is to find out the coaching of gateball sports in the city of Padang. This type of research is descriptive, this study was conducted on august 28, 2021 in the field of the Public Works and Public Housing Office (PUPR) of Padang city. The population in this study was the official and gateball athletes of the padang city which was 33 people. Sampling techniques using saturated sample techniques, then the samples in this study are: (10) the manager of the Padang City Pergatsi Pengkab who is still active, (2) the coach who handles gateball athletes, (21) gateball athletes. The data collection techniques in this study used research questionnaires and interviews, observations and documentation. The results of research 1) In the management of the board, the Pergatsi of Padang city runs with makeshift, including minimal facilities, less human resources. Evaluation of Gateball National Championship in 2022
No full textGateball is a sport developed after World War II. It is a combination of golf and cricket. In Indonesia, the national gateball championship is one of the annual programs that aims to build and improve gateball performance among sportsmen. As the number of gateball fans in Indonesia increases, it is necessary to evaluate to increase public trust and provide information to gateball organizations in Indonesia. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the national gateball championship. This research uses qualitative and evaluation techniques using Context, Input, Process and Product (CIPP) methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection method used triangulation (questionnaire, interview, and observation). We used a random sampling method. Study population covered 32 provinces, involving 515 respondents representing all provinces in Indonesia. In this study we found (1) context evaluation: national championships need to be expanded in order to create young athlete seeds, (2) input evaluation: participants, organization, financing, and committee have not been carried out properly and need to be improved in accordance with the development of gateball competitions, (3) process evaluation: sports competition regulations must always be updated in accordance with the development of gateball in Indonesia, and (4) Product evaluation: there is an increase in the number of participants and high public interest in organizing national competitions every year. Athletes competing in national gateball championships focus on the achievements obtained by athletes at both the regional and national levels. In addition, media support as a means of publication and promotion of sports to the public needs to be expanded

No full textAktifitas olahraga tanpa disadari atau sadar sering dilakukan dimana-mana. Aktifitas ini berkaitan dengan gerakan jasmani, bermain, dan rekreasi. Olahraga rekreasi ialah olahraga yang mengarah kepada aktifitas gerak yang bertujuan untuk kesenangan dan bergembira. Banyak yang dapat menemukan olahraga rekreasi di tempat-tempat wisata, jenisnya juga semakin berfariasi dari yang mulai berpetualangan sampai dengan yang menantang, salah satunya olahraga gateball. Gateball merupakan jenis olah raga yang unik, karena dimainkan secara bersamaan antara tujuan rekreasi sambil meraih prestasi.Tujuan yang ingin di capai dari penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui perkembangan olahraga gateball, hambatan olahraga gateball. respon pemerintah, masyarakat, dan faktor pendukung olahraga gateball di Kabupaten Semarang. Pendekatan penelian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yaitu data yang dikumpulkan berupa kata-kata, gambar, dan bukan angka-angka. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Penelitian dilakukan secara lisan (wawancara) dengan 4 responden. Lokasi penelitian di Balai Besar Wilayah Sungai Pemali Juana. Data hasil penelitian yang telah dikumpulkan sepenuhnya dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian : Perkembangan olahraga rekreasi gateball belum begitu luas dikenal dimasyarakat. Setiap cabang olahraga pasti akan memerlukan perhatian khusus dari pemerintah dengan harapan olahraga itu sendiri akan berkembang dan lebih maju. Kurangnya sosialisasi dan kurangnya pertandingan yang diselenggarakan oleh pemerintah menjadikan olahraga gateball kurang diminati masyarakat. Hambatan yang terjadi adalah dari sektor pendanaan, harga peralatan olahraga gateball lumayan mahal untuk kalangan menengah kebawah. Simpulan hasil penelitian : Perkembangan olahraga rekreasi gateball di Kabupaten Semarang kurang begitu luas. Hambatan yang terjadi adalah soal pendanaan dan mahalnya peralatan olahraga gateball. Respon pemerintah sampai saat ini belum memberikan bantuan dan respon yang baik, sedangkan respon masyarakat sangat baik dan mendukung dengan adanya olahraga rekreasi gateball. Reasons for gateball participation among older Japanese
Full text linkThis article focuses upon a game known as gateball which is popular among older Japanese. The game is described and patterns of social behavior among gateball players are also discussed. Using data collected from an open-ended questionnaire, participant observation on a gateball team, and a series of semi-structured interviews with older people living in a rural region of Japan, some of the reasons behind participation in gateball are explored. These motives are then placed into the context of changing patterns of social interaction between younger and older Japanese and are also discussed in terms of the presence of age grading practices which structure the life course for many Japanese living in rural areas. PROFIL TINGKAT KEBUGARAN JASMANI PEMAIN GATEBALL KOTA BANDUNG
Full text linkTujuan penelitian untuk mengukur profil tingkat kebugaran jasmani pemain gateball kota Bandung. Sampel dari penelitian ini sebanyak 28 peserta yang merupakan pemain gateball kota Bandung. metode dari penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Motor Ability Test. Hasil data lapangan menggambarkan kondisi fisik pemain tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kondisi fisik pemain gateball yang termasuk dalam katagori baik ada 3 orang pemain (11%), kategori sedang ada 6 pemain (22 %), kategori kurang ada 18 orang pemain (67%), kategori kurang sekali tidak ada. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kondisi tingkat kebugaran jasmani pemain Gateball Kota Bandung adalah masih kurang, untuk itu harus ditingkatkan lagi.
Peningkatan Ketrampilan Teknik Dasar Gateball Melalui Penggunaan Media Adobe Flash Player
Full text linkMateri latihan teknik dasar gateball memiliki variasi yang beragam, namun model latihan teknik dasar sangatlah minim. Hal ini membuat pemain gateball susah memahami materi latihan teknik dasar yang diberikan pelatih. Oleh karena itu diperlukan model latihan teknik dasar gateball yang baru agar lebih mudah dipahami. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah mencari seberapa besar peningkatan ketrampilan teknik dasar gateball setelah belajar menggunakan media adobe flash player. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah pemain pemula klub gateball di Kota Semarang. Rumus uji efektivitas adalah t-test menggunakan spss. Pada hasil nilai pre-test dan post-test, terdapat peningkatan sebesar 17,75%. Hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran memiliki keefektifan yang signifikan dengan nilai signifikansi (p value) 0,01 < 0,05 yang berarti bahwa media tersebut efektif. Sebagai simpulan akhir dinyatakan bahwa produk terbukti dan efektif meningkatkan ketrampilan teknik dasar olahraga gateball pada klub olahraga gateball di Kota Semarang
