Now in its 7th edition, the best selling book on MVC is updated for ASP.NET Core MVC 2. It contains detailed explanations of the Core MVC functionality which enables developers to produce leaner, cloud optimized and mobile-ready applications for the .NET platform. This book puts ASP.NET Core MVC into context and dives deep into the tools and techniques required to build modern, cloud optimized extensible web applications. All the new MVC features are described in detail and the author explains how best to apply them to both new and existing projects. The ASP.NET Core MVC Framework is the latest evolution of Microsoft’s ASP.NET web platform, built on a completely new foundation. It represents a fundamental change to how Microsoft constructs and deploys web frameworks and is free of the legacy of earlier technologies such as Web Forms. ASP.NET Core MVC provides a "host agnostic" framework and a high-productivity programming model that promotes cleaner code architecture, test-driven development, and powerful extensibility. Best-selling author Adam Freeman has thoroughly revised this market-leading book and explains how to get the most from ASP.NET Core MVC. He starts with the nuts-and-bolts and shows you everything through to advanced features, going in-depth to give you the knowledge you need. The book includes a fully worked case study of a functioning web application that readers can use as a template for their own projects. Building a Modern Web Application Using an MVC Framework

    No full text
Since the web 2.0 renaissance, the development demands of online content has increased significantly as it became more and more user generated. To ease the development burden many developers faced, web application frameworks were created. Such frameworks come with learning curves though, and learning one can take time away from an already busy schedule. This thesis will attempt to introduce web developers to popular development frameworks using version three of a beginner friendly framework called CodeIgniter. The thesis explores the components of the framework as well as the model-view-controller (MVC) object oriented architectural design pattern it is based upon. To demonstrate the framework in action, a prototype application was created along with development documentation. At the end of the thesis the author shares the experience of learning CodeIgniter and the value of using an MVC web application framework when developing a modern, data intensive web application

Video Traffic Characteristics of Modern Encoding Standards: H.264/AVC with SVC and MVC Extensions and H.265/HEVC

    No full text
abstract: Video encoding for multimedia services over communication networks has significantly advanced in recent years with the development of the highly efficient and flexible H.264/AVC video coding standard and its SVC extension. The emerging H.265/HEVC video coding standard as well as 3D video coding further advance video coding for multimedia communications. This paper first gives an overview of these new video coding standards and then examines their implications for multimedia communications by studying the traffic characteristics of long videos encoded with the new coding standards. We review video coding advances from MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 Part 2 to H.264/AVC and its SVC and MVC extensions as well as H.265/HEVC. For single-layer (nonscalable) video, we compare H.265/HEVC and H.264/AVC in terms of video traffic and statistical multiplexing characteristics. Our study is the first to examine the H.265/HEVC traffic variability for long videos. We also illustrate the video traffic characteristics and statistical multiplexing of scalable video encoded with the SVC extension of H.264/AVC as well as 3D video encoded with the MVC extension of H.264/AVC.View the article as published at https://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/2014/189481

    ASP.NET MVC REPORTING WEBSITE

abstract: In the modern world of business, access to information can mean the difference between thousands of dollars. Executives at any corporation, large or small, would probably agree that they need to know everything and anything at the drop of a hat. As software has become more prominent in the business world so has the demand for an ever faster representation of business data. While traditional desktop applications have been used for decades to record, store, and display data, they do have their limitations. One such limitation being location—that is, they reside on a desktop. Remote access services have alleviated some of the pain that comes from location but there is still a need for faster access to data. Thankfully, the internet offers itself as ideal platform for fast, reliable, data retrieval. An ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) application manages several departments of a business. Most sophisticated applications handle accounting, marketing, ordering, invoicing, etc. plus other business operations processes. One such ERP is Evosus, a system designed for the pool industry. While Evosus is an effective ERP system, it does suffer from the same limits that any traditional desktop application has—namely fast remote access. Evosus is an application that stores all of its data in a Microsoft SQL Server Database. MSSQL Server is known for being flexible, secure, and easy to use. The use of MSSQL Server alone allows Evosus to be more flexible than many competitors. With a few simple programming commands, all of the data stored in the Evosus database can be effectively displayed in web format. Therefore, the limitations brought on by location no longer exist. Using the Microsoft product stack, a web application has been developed to display Evosus data on the web. ASP.NET MVC is used to help with the Separation of Concerns (SoC) that accompanies all web development. The website, called EvosusConnect, is used to demonstrate how, in a real world scenario, instant access to crucial business data can benefit a company, no matter how large or small

Реализация программного модуля расчета газодинамического режима доменной плавки на платформе ASP .NET MVC

    No full text
The technologist of the blast furnace gild, which is engaged in improving the technology of cast iron in blast furnaces, is currently using a software module created on the Windows Forms interface to calculate the gas-dynamic mode of blast furnace smelting. Working with the given program module has a number of risks and inconveniences. First, the existing software module on the Windows Forms platform, in contrast to web development, requires a manual installation process and a proper hardware platform is needed for full operation. Secondly, the existing software module is not mobile, as in the case of web development, and also requires special configuration and administration. Thirdly, in the existing software module, updates from the developers do not automatically occur, as in the case of web development. Fourth, the failure of a computer or operating system can become a threat of data destruction in the existing software module, while it does not threaten web development. Taking into account all the advantages of web applications, the author chose the ASP.NET MVC platform for implementing the software module for calculating the gas-dynamic mode of blast-furnace smelting. The developed web application on the ASP.NET MVC platform must perform all the functions that are available in the existing software modulation. Windows Forms
