The game space and its attributive characteristic in the novel "The defence" by V.V. Nabokov
© Journal of Language and Literature. The article deals with the analysis of game space and its attributive characteristic in the novel "The Defence" by V.V. Nabokov. The author provides a review of the most interesting and significant works, devoted to the study of game phenomenon in the creative work by V.V. Nabokov. Besides, the meaning of notion "game text" is expanded in the work; there are also made the conclusions about lexical organization of the novel game space (it is a chessboard in this case) and about ways of characterization of this space: 1) direct characterization (through description); 2) indirect characterization (through the comparison with another subject)

Role of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system in the interaction with coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and in the development of strategies for prevention and treatment of new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) [Роль ренин-ангиотензин-альдостероновой системы во взаимодействии с коронавирусом SARS-CoV-2 и в развитии стратегий профилактики и лечения новой коронавирусной инфекции (COVID-19)]
The 2019 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), due to the new SARS-CoV-2 virus, represents the greatest global public health crisis and an unprecedented challenge to find effective ways to prevent and treat. In the active phase of a pandemic, early results allow these preventive measures to be implemented on a scale compatible with the pandemic. If the results are convincing, their value will be difficult to overestimate, since additional one or two outbreaks of this infection are expected. Clinical data is emerging rapidly from a large number of people afflicted with SARS-CoV-2, which should provide clinicians with accurate evidence of the effectiveness of different preventive and treatment methods. In particular, an active search is underway for cellular mechanisms that SARS-CoV-2 uses to penetrate tissues. These include information about the receptor of the angiotensin-converting enzyme receptor (ACE 2). SARS-CoV-2, a single-stranded envelope RNA virus, attaches to cells via a viral spike (S) protein that binds to the ACE 2. After binding to the receptor, the viral particle uses the receptors of the host cell and endosomes to enter the cells. Human type transmembrane serine protease 2 (TMPRSS 2) facilitates penetration into the cell via protein S. Once inside the cell, viral polyproteins are synthesized that encode the replicate transcriptase complex. The virus then synthesizes RNA through its RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. Structural proteins are synthesized leading to the completion of the assembly and release of viral particles. These stages of the virus life cycle provide potential targets for drug therapy. Current clinical and scientific data do not support discontinuation of ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers in patients with COVID-19, and an ongoing discussion is addressed in this review. © 2020 All-Russian Public Organization Antihypertensive League. Dry eye disease in keratoconus: etiology and medical treatment
V.V. Averich
Scientific Research Institute of Eye Diseases, Moscow, Russian Federation
This paper reviews published data on the studies on keratoconus associated with dry eye disease (DED) presentations. Despite the lack of a direct correlation between DED and keratoconus, many studies have demonstrated that keratoconus is associated with DED in more than 80% of cases. The author describes major endogenous and exogenous (inflammatory, immune/allergic, mechanical, neuropathic) factors triggering the development and association of these conditions. Approaches to the medical treatment of disorders resulting from the association of these entities are discussed. The primary management strategy implies tear film and ocular surface protection with tear substitutes based on the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. In the lack of the effect of tear substitutes or in rigid gas permeable contact lens wearers, gel-based dexpanthenol in high concentrations is recommended. This treatment significantly increases drug bioavailability and prolongs the ocular surface reparation. Scleral contact lenses ensuring intact corneal epithelium and high visual acuity in irregular astigmatism caused by keratoconus are also used for corneal protection and DED therapy.
Keywords: keratoconus, keratectasia, dry eye disease, epitheliopathy, tear film.
