This article contains an analysis of the English translation of Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi’s short stories. These translations are the result of the skill and diligence of Professor Sajjad Shaikh. He translated twenty Urdu short stories of Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi into English for the first time. This book was first published by National Book Foundation, Islamabad in 1981. Professor Sajjad Shaikh was awarded the Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi Literary Award for this endeavor. In these translations, Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi’s stories seem to travel from one language to another without any strangeness. Proficient in Urdu and English, Prof. Sajjad Shaikh has made a successful attempt to make Urdu Literature stand out on the world’s stage by translating the subject matter of these short stories.</p

induced quasielastic production of hyperons leading to pions

The quasielastic production cross sections and polarizations of the hyperons induced by νˉμ{{{\bar{\nu }}}}_\mu on the free nucleon as well as from 40^{40}Ar in the sub-GeV energy region has been reviewed (Fatima et al., Front Phys 7:13, 2019; Fatima et al., Phys Rev D 98:033005, 2018; Akbar et al., Phys Rev D 94:114031, 2016; Fatima et al., Eur Phys J A 54:95, 2018; Akbar et al., Eur Phys J A 53:154, 2017). The effects of the second class currents in the axial vector sector with and without T-invariance as well as the effect of SU(3) symmetry breaking are also studied. We find that the cross sections and the various polarization components can effectively be used to determine the axial vector transition form factors in the strangeness sector and to test the validity of various symmetries of the weak hadronic currents like G-invariance, T-invariance and SU(3) symmetry. These hyperons decay dominantly into pions giving an additional contribution to the weak pion production induced by the antineutrinos. In the case of nuclear targets like 40^{40}Ar, this contribution is shown to be significant when compared with the pion production by the Δ\varDelta excitations in the energy range of Eνˉμ0.7E_{{\bar{\nu }}_{\mu }} \le 0.7 GeV (Fatima et al., Front Phys 7:13, 2019). This study could be useful for the DUNE experiment where argon will be used as the target material and the electronic imaging of particles is possible and the particle tracks can be identified

سجاد ظہیر کے ناولٹ ”لندن کی ایک رات“ کا ما بعد نو آبادیاتی جائزہ: A POST-COLONIAL REVIEW OF SAJJAD ZAHEER'S NOVELETTE "LONDON KI EK RAAT"

“London ki Ek Raat”is a famous novel by Sajjad Zaheer. In this novel, he has thoroughly reviewed the poor patriotism of the people of India. In this novel, the elements of post-colonialism have been reviewed. Creation relates differently to a creator. I think it is not fair to deny the author. The characters contribute according to the author's intention and move the story till the end. The feelings and emotions of the audience and viewers come out as the feelings and emotions of the characters and the pain and difficulty of the character becomes the difficulty of the reader and he feels sympathy for him. Even in "London Ki Ek Raat" where five, six stories are going on simultaneously. The purpose of Sajjad Zaheer himself to write this novelette is a different story, as every writer has a specific mindset. In the same way, those goals also enter into the creation even if the creator does not want it, and their reflections can be mixed up. Sajjad Zaheer has also given the most suitable role to the characters in the background and foreground of the world and the subcontinent in "London Ki Ek Raat

The intention of this research is to evaluate factors influence on the brand equity specifically to know the impact of consumer’s loyalty and attachment on brand equity. The research is composed of primary data, the population of this research consists on the different Educational, industrial, and commercial sector for conducting research. For gathering the response of respondents, the 200 questionnaires were distributed among the respondents on the different places. For interpreting the research result, we draw the correlation and regression analysis by using of SPSS software and frequency distribution are used. The research results indicate that there is positive relationship between the dependent and independent variables. The research results also showed that the independent variables influence the dependent variable. This research will be helpful commercial sector and managers to redesign their strategies in order to get customer loyalty and capture maximum potential customers

Pakistan Journal of Library and Information Science (PJLIS) is an HEC recognized journal published by the Department of Library and Informat ion Science, University of the Punjab, Lahore. A total of 111 publications from 11 issues of PJLIS were pu blished during 1995 to 2010. It has outstanding contribution in the dissemination of LIS research on national and international level as it publishes both in print and electronic format. A bibliometric analysis of contributions published in the PJLIS from 1995 to 2010 has been presented in this paper. Attempt has been made to study all 11 issues of this journal on the basis of different parameters, viz., author productivity, extent of authors’ collaboration, authors’ institutional affiliation, authors’ geographic affiliation, type of publication, language of papers, number of citations used per article, length of papers, and year-wise distribution of papers

De-radicalizing Pakistani society: The receptivity of youth to a liberal religious worldview

No full text
The reported rise in radicalism among youth in Pakistan since 9/11/2001 has been attributed to religious education in madrasas and schools. However, education in Pakistan is only part of the historical and contemporary forces that contribute to the prevailing exclusivist religio-political discourse. Although most policy papers have recommended a secularization of public education, such efforts by the Pakistani government have been counterproductive. These efforts by the Pakistani government to reshape education, with massive funding from international donors, have faced strong opposition and there are signs of psychological reactance as evidenced by even greater levels of religious radicalism among Pakistani youth. The current study suggests a viable alternative for reshaping education in Pakistan. A nationwide survey of educated urban youth (N = 386) conducted by the first author, revealed that when considering radical religious, Western secular and liberal religious ideas, Pakistani youth were overwhelmingly supportive of a liberal religious approach to education that highlights an inclusive Islam emphasizing freedom and compassion. Findings have implications for government reforms, peace education initiatives, and long-term conflict transformation in Pakistan
