Measurement of CP observables in B<sup>0</sup> → DK <sup>∗0</sup> with D →K<sup>+</sup> K<sup>−</sup>
No full textThe decay B 0 → DK *0 and the charge conjugate mode are studied using 1.0 fb−1 of pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at s√=7 TeV in 2011. The CP asymmetry between the B 0 → DK *0 and the B−−0→DK−−∗0 decay rates, with the neutral D meson in the CP-even final state K + K −, is found to be AKKd=−0.45±0.23±0.02, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. In addition, favoured B 0 → DK *0 decays are reconstructed with the D meson in the non-CP eigenstate K +π−. The ratio of the B-flavour averaged decay rates in D decays to CP and non-CP eigenstates is measured to be RKKd=1.36+0.37−0.32±0.07, where the ratio of the branching fractions of D 0 → K −π+ to D 0 → K + K − decays is included as multiplicative factor. The CP asymmetries measured with two control channels, the favoured B 0 → DK *0 decay with D → K +π− and the B−−0s→DK∗0 decay with D→K + K −, are also reported

No full textPh.D.We investigate the DK conjecture on derived categories of coherent sheaves stated by Bondal-Orlov and Kawamata: there should be a derived embedding for any flip and in particular a derived equivalence for any flop. Observation of B-c(+) -> (DK+)-K-0 Decays
No full textsing proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1), recorded by the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, the B-c(+) -> (DK+)-K-0 decay is observed with a statistical significance of 5.1 standard deviations. By normalizing to B-c(+) -> (D) over bar (0)pi(+) decays, a measurement of the branching fraction multiplied by the production rates for B-c(+) relative to B+ mesons in the LHCb acceptance is obtained, R-D0K = (f(c)/f(u)) x B(B-c(+) -> (DK+)-K-0) = (9.3(-2.5)(+2.8) +/- 0.6) x 10(-7), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This decay is expected to proceed predominantly through weak annihilation and penguin amplitudes, and is the first B-c(+) decay of this nature to be observed

Oxygen Permeability (Dk) Of Silicone-Hydrogel Materials: Relationship With Water, Silicon, And Fluorine Contents
No full textTo more precisely determine the fundamental relationships between oxygen permeability (Dk), water content (WC), silicon (Si) content, and fluorine (F) content of clinically prescribed silicone-hydrogel (SiHy) materials, identical methodologies for 16 commercially available brands of SiHy materials were performed. Dk and WC were determined according to the ANSI and ISO standards and, with Si and F contents, on the same lot numbers of samples across a common range of available refractive powers. A negative linear relationship was found between Si content and water content. Lotrafilcon A, Lotrafilcon B, and the bulk polymer of Delefilcon A initially deviated from this relationship. However, they contributed to the relationship when their F contents (the former two) and hydrogel surface layers (the latter) were included in the analysis. There was a negative relationship of Dk with WC, positive relationship of Dk with the combination of Si and F [(Si+F)] content, and negative relationship of Dk with the combination of WC, Si, and F [WC+Si+F)] content. Plots of Log(Dk) with these contents were linear within the ranges of (Si+F) and WC in this study [0.76–16.7% (Si+F) and 21.8–73.8% water, respectively]. The quadratic and linear semi-logarithmic relationships were modeled in two-dimensional and three-dimensional plots to show the interrelationships between these three characteristics. A point of equality for water and (Si+F) contents of SiHy materials was located at 18.6 %, where Dk was 154.6 Fatt Dk units. Another point of equality for the WC of SiHy and conventional hydrogel materials was located at 73.3 %, where Dk was 46.3 Fatt Dk units. The SiHy materials that fell near these points were Lotrafilcon A and Efrofilcon A, respectively. The oxygen permeability of pure dimethylsiloxane (i.e., “silicone”) was found to be 8.8 times that of water, or approximately 900 Fatt Dk units. These relationships are of importance in the characterization of polymers in the contact lens field. They are the aspects of Dk, Si content, F content, and WC that can guide the formulation of new polymers for contact lenses and other devices, to supersede these relationships and to maintain them while biocompatibility and comfort are pursued

Vurderingen gives som resultat af en tværfaglig dokumentanalyse af Vækstplanen, som vi har foretaget på baggrund af et begrebsligt værktøj fra følgende samfundsøkonomiske samt politologiske teoretikere: Anthony Giddens, Willy Shih og Gary Pisano, John M. Keynes, Milton Friedman, Gary Becker og Theodore W. Schultz. Ud fra disse vil vi vurdere, hvad der skal til for, at industrimålsætningerne kan realiseres. Det konkluderes i projektrapporten, at de problemer vedrørende industrien, regeringen skitserer i Vækstplanen, besvares til en vis grad med de opstillede industrimålsætninger ud fra de teorier, vi har valgt til at udforme analysen og vurderingen i projektrapporten. “Vækstplan DK” – an assessment of the industrial objectives In this study, an assessment and evaluation of the government's goals for the industrial sector in “Vækstplan DK - stærke virksomheder, flere job”, and if these are sufficiently approached regarding the problems outlined by the government in the document. The evaluation will be conducted on the basis of an interdisciplinary document analysis of “Vækstplanen”, which we have achieved by using comprehensible instruments from the following economic and political scientists: Anthony Giddens, Willy Shih and Gary Pisano, John M. Keynes, Milton Friedman, Gary Becker and Theodore W. Schultz. From these, we will assess what is needed for the industrial objectives to be realized.
