Método de Euler aplicado a deflexão de vigas

    No full text
The present study aims to study the behavior of the elastic line with a non-linear model, that is, without approximations. After a theoretical revision of beams, differential equations and numerical methods, the elastic line is discussed for the more general case and when we disregard approximations in the beam deflection study, the work leads to a non-linear fourth differential equation that gives results of deflections. After a reduction of order, a system of first-order differential equations is obtained which is solved by the Euler numerical method, obtaining as a solution the deflection curve of the beam.O presente trabalho tem por finalidade estudar o comportamento da linha elástica com modelo não-linear, ou seja, sem aproximações.

    Non-linear vibration of Euler-Bernoulli beams

    No full text
In this paper, variational iteration (VIM) and parametrized perturbation (PPM) methods have been used to investigate non-linear vibration of Euler-Bernoulli beams subjected to the axial loads. The proposed methods do not require small parameter in the equation which is difficult to be found for nonlinear problems. Comparison of VIM and PPM with Runge-Kutta 4th leads to highly accurate solutions

Analytical Approximation of Nonlinear Vibration of Euler-Bernoulli Beams

Abstract In this paper, the Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) with two auxiliary parameters and Differential Transform Method (DTM) are employed to solve the geometric nonlinear vibration of Euler-Bernoulli beams subjected to axial loads. A second auxiliary parameter is applied to the HAM to improve convergence in nonlinear systems with large deformations. The results from HAM and DTM are compared with another popular numerical method, the shooting method, to validate these two analytical methods. HAM and DTM show excellent agreement with numerical results (the maximum errors in our calculations are about 0.002%), and they additionally provide a simple way to conduct a parametric analysis with different physical parameters in Euler-Bernoulli beams. To show the benefits of this method, the effect of different physical parameters on the amplitude is discussed for a cantilever beam with a cyclically varying axial load

These files contain the data set used for the empirical analyses in the article, both in CSV format and in R native format, RData. The data set contains anonymized data of 100,000 customers of a leading financial services provider in Germany with 35 variables. Target variable: cross-sell. We also include an Excel spreadsheet with an overview of the variables contained in the data set and the programming code (programming language R) used in the analyses. Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of Euler-Bernoulli Beams by Using Continuous Galerkin-Petrov Time-Discretization Method

    No full text
Abstract In this paper, we present a new numerical method for nonlinear vibrational analysis of Euler-Bernoulli beams. Our approach is based on the continuous Galerkin-Petrov time discretization method. The Euler-Bernoulli beam equation which governs its vibrations is transformed into set of ordinary differential equations and the presented method is employed in order to investigate the vibrational response. A comparison is made between present method and different other methods available in literature. It is observed that the obtained results are in strong agreement with other results in literature. We conclude that the present method has a great potential to deal with nonlinear vibration analysis problems of beams and related structures like rods and shafts

Heróis de barro (nos bastidores do front): memórias de Petrônio Rebuá Alves Corrêa

The unpublished writings of Petrônio Rebuá Alves Corrêa, from Mato Grosso, graduated in the first classes of History at UFMS/CPTL, ex-combatant of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, are memories riddled with critical analysis of governmental and military decisions that directly involved Brazil in the Second World War. Great War, the military hierarchy and the organization/unpreparedness of the Brazilian Army. They also bring a sharp look at the ills and traumas between the civilian population and Brazilian squares. Traumatic memories, such as misery, hunger, mutilations and deaths among civilians, as well as neurosis, waiting, confinement, mutilation and death among the Brazilian military. These are the basis of the narrative of other ex-combatants who have published records of memories. One of the differences noted in Rebuá's writings is the way in which the author places himself in the narrated events. In general, in the memories of Brazil's participation in World War II, ex-combatants place themselves as observers when events are not dignified. Rebuá poses as a participant, sometimes as a protagonist, including in traumatic events, such as the violence committed against the civilian population of Italy, especially women. The subjectivity of the author-soldier, who died in 2002, inserts the reader into the battlefields of Italy, in the cities, towns and homes of the Italian population in the context of the Second World War.Os escritos inéditos de Petrônio Rebuá Alves Corrêa, mato-grossense, graduado nas primeiras turmas de História da UFMS/CPTL, ex-combatente da Força Expedicionária Brasileira, são memórias crivadas de análise crítica das decisões governamentais e militares que envolveram o Brasil diretamente na Segunda Grande Guerra, da hierarquia militar e da organização/despreparo do Exército Brasileiro.

An efficient coupled polynomial interpolation scheme to eliminate material-locking in the Euler-Bernoulli piezoelectric beam finite element

    No full text
The convergence characteristic of the conventional two-noded Euler-Bernoulli piezoelectric beam finite element depends on the configuration of the beam cross-section. The element shows slower convergence for the asymmetric material distribution in the beam cross-section due to 'material-locking' caused by extension-bending coupling. Hence, the use of conventional Euler-Bernoulli beam finite element to analyze piezoelectric beams which are generally made of the host layer with asymmetrically surface bonded piezoelectric layers/patches, leads to increased computational effort to yield converged results. Here, an efficient coupled polynomial interpolation scheme is proposed to improve the convergence of the Euler-Bernoulli piezoelectric beam finite elements, by eliminating ill-effects of material-locking. The equilibrium equations, derived using a variational formulation, are used to establish relationships between field variables. These relations are used to find a coupled quadratic polynomial for axial displacement, having contributions from an assumed cubic polynomial for transverse displacement and assumed linear polynomials for layerwise electric potentials. A set of coupled shape functions derived using these polynomials efficiently handles extension-bending and electromechanical couplings at the field interpolation level itself in a variationally consistent manner, without increasing the number of nodal degrees of freedom. The comparison of results obtained from numerical simulation of test problems shows that the convergence characteristic of the proposed element is insensitive to the material configuration of the beam cross-section
