Blended Learning Method to Optimize English Language Learning in Non-English Language Education Departments at Muhammadiyah University of Enrekang
No full textLimited time to direct learning in class often made learning English less effective, especially for classes with various levels of English proficiency. In a higher education climate that demands active learning, English teachers often find it difficult to help students whose English competency was below average to catch up with their peers who had good competence. In general, this compulsory course was only held for one semester. In fact, the target of learning English on campus was generally quite high, namely to make students had sufficient English proficiency so that they could write academic papers in English as an international language. To help overcome these obstacles, this study offers the use of the blended language learning method, which was a learning method that complements direct learning with distant learning using the internet. Blended language learning was able to complement the lack of direct time in class with distance learning using internet media. This research was the result of writer's experience in applying this method for one academic year along with the results obtained from the application of the blended language learning method in the teaching process. With the application of the blended language learning method, the writer found that language learning at the college level could be more effective, efficient, and more student-centered even though the author still faces some obstacles in its application

Menurut Kemendagri, pemberian KIA pada anak menunjukkan negara hadir dalam melindungi hak anak serta memberikan perlakuan non diskriminatif bahwa anak memiliki identitasnya sendiri sebagai seorang WNI. Oleh karenanya penulis tertarik untuk membuat sebuah video feature mengenai Kartu Identitas Anak. Video ini akan dikemas secara menarik dan informatif sehingga masyarakat yang menonton video ini akan merasa puas dan tentunya mendapat informasi lebih banyak tentang pentingnya memiliki KIAChild Identity Card (KIA) is the official identity of children who are less than 17 years old and unmarried. Published by the Regency/City Population and Civil Registration Service. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, providing KIA to children shows that the state is present in protecting children's rights and providing non-discriminatory treatment so that children have their own identity as Indonesian citizens. Therefore, the author is interested in making a video feature about Children's Identity Cards. Implementation of “Outbound Green Class” Program as a Way to Increased English Language Ability and interest of reading activity for Children and Adolescents at Makassar City
No full textCommunity Service Activities (PKM) about “Outbound Green Class” program was one of the newest programs that the author applied in her English course place. She carried out this activity in collaboration with several her friends and who have same profession with her that was English lecturer. "Outbound Our Green Class" program provided a brief description of the guidance process increased English learning skills and interest to do reading activity with used the principle "English was cheap and could be learned anywhere and anytime". In this community service (PKM) activity, English was one of the fields of knowledge that would be specialized or studied. Children and adolescents who came from poor parents' economies were the second material to be specialized or studied in this community service activity (PKM) about English tutoring using the principle "English was cheap and could be learned anywhere and anytime". Some of the goals or functions of this community service activity (PKM) were in accordance with the principle "English was cheap and could be learned anywhere and anytime", namely: the first purpose or function, to show the world, especially to the wider community, especially children and adolescents who speak English. English was not difficult, and not as scary as a monster. The second purpose or function was to help children and adolescents who came from poor parents' economies to learn English at no charge and help prepared themselves to implement the "AFTA" program, which provided a great opportunity for all Indonesian citizens to work. And the third purpose or function was to foster enthusiasm of learning English for children and adolescents in Makassar city

No full textThis thesis is a study of conflicts which leads the main character, Tommy Wilhelm, to his downfall in Saul Bellow?s Seize The Day. It analyzes the process of the male major character?s downfall through his conflicts, In the analysis, the writer uses the library research to find the data. She uses the theory of conflict to analyze his external and internal conflicts in order to learn that his character traits have triggered the conflicts that later bring him to his downfall. From the analysis, the thesis writer finds that Tommy?s failure stems from his character traits that are weaknesses, foolishness, dependence, immature, and indolence. Having those character traits, Tommy gets involved in conflicts with other characters, and also conflict with himself. At the end of this thesis, the thesis writer concludes that Tommy?s downfall is caused by his conflicts with his father and his wife. His partner also plays an important role in his downfall. Tommy?s internal conflicts also influence his downfall for he cannot decide the good way for his life. The downfall can be seen in the end parts of Seize The Day where Tommy was crying on someone funeral after he lost all his hopes. The important point of Seize The Day is the author?s irritation to the readers to appreciate this life and take the opportunity no matter how hard and difficult it would be, as long as it will be good for us. It is not the quantity of life but the quality of life that man should consider and think of
PERANAN ALICE PAUL DALAM MEMPEROLEH HAK SUARA BAGI WANITA DI AMERIKA SERIKAT (1910-1920)
No full textPenelitian ini membahas mengenai peran seorang tokoh bernama Alice Paul dalam pergerakan suffrage atau pergerakan menuntut hak suara bagi wanita di Amerika Serikat. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini ialah mengenai bagaimana latar belakang dari tokoh tersebut sehingga ia menjadi seorang aktifis suffrage, hal-hal yang ia lakukan dalam pergerakannya, serta dampak dari pergerakannya terhadap kehidupan kaum wanita di negara tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode historis. Dalam metode historis terdapat langkah-langkah yang harus dilakukan, yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi dan historiografi. Dalam mengkaji permasalahan penulis menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner, dengan meminjam konsep-konsep dari ilmu sosiologi, politik dan psikologi. Sejak kemerdekaannya Amerika Serikat tidak memberikan hak suara bagi kaum wanita. Padahal Negara tersebut sangat menjunjung tinggi kebebasan dan hak individu warganya. Pergerakan suffrage di Amerika Serikat sebenarnya telah ada sejak pertengahan abad ke-19. Akan tetapi gerakan tersebut tidak mendapatkan hasil yang signifikan, hingga memasuki awal abad ke-20. Alice Paul mulai aktif dalam pergerakan suffrage pada tahun 1900-an. Metode pergerakannya dinilai sangat militan, karena itu ia seringkali mendapat kritikan dari masyarakat maupun dari sesama aktifis suffrage disana. Akan tetap metode pergerakannya telah memberikan kemenangan bagi gerakan suffrage di Negara tersebut.

This research is about the role of who named Alice Paul in suffrage movement in the United State. The problem in this research is how the background of her life and her society until she become a suffragist, everything she did in her movement, and the impact of her movement for the women in United State. The method of this research is historical method. The steps of this method is include heuristic, critic, interpretation and historiography. To investigate the problem of this research the author used interdisciplinary approachment. She used a concepts of sociology, politic, and psychology. Since the independence day United State didn’t give woman right to vote, whereas they are really hold in the high esteem about the liberty and individual right of their citizen. That matter is attached in their declaration of independence. The suffrage movement had been existed in the United State since in the middle of 19th century, but the movement doesn’t have any significant result until early of 20th century. Alice Paul begin active in the suffrage movement is in early 20th century. The method of her movement is assessed very militant, so she often obtained critical from the people and the other suffragist. But her movement was gave the victory to the suffrage movement at the state.

No full textThe purpose of making this thesis is to determine the effect of the inquiry learning model on self-confidence in physical education. To answer the formulation of the research problem that has been formulated, the author uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Tegalwaru by taking a sample of 30 people with 15 samples in the experimental group and 15 samples in the control group. There are three stages in this research, namely: pre-test or initial test, treatment or treatment, and post-test or final test. The pre-test was conducted on 15 samples to determine the results of inquiry learning on students' self-confidence before receiving treatment. The experimental design in this study was In this research design, there were two groups, each of which was randomly selected (R). The first group was given treatment (X) and the other group was not. Then the researchers conducted a post-test on 15 samples. After being treated, the research was then processed using the T-test formula and compared with the T-table. The results of the study show that the inquiry learning model has an influence on the lower self-confidence of the students of class X MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Tegalwaru with the results of the T-test calculation of 0.012 and compared with the T-table of 0.05. No full textThis research generally discusses the Ngebeng dance, which is one of the dances that lives and develops in Rambutan Masam Village and has become a characteristic of the community. The method used in this research is qualitative research which is research with the aim of understanding the phenomena experienced by the subject. This research procedure produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observable behavior. In this case, the researcher has conducted a survey first to obtain information in advance to obtain sources of information about the object through interviews, photos and videos. As for a brief description of the results of this research, the author analyzes the existence of the Ngebeng dance procession, referring to the function of dance which is categorized as a means of performance and entertainment for the people of Rambutan Masam Village and provides views on the Ngebeng dance which is interpreted as entertainment when tired in the rice fields and fields, as well as being performances at cultural events. On the other hand, the Ngebeng dance has become a medium of communication as a unifier and a proud cultural heritage for the local community. The Ngebeng dance is used to welcome distinguished guests who come to the village, to welcome days that are considered important, as entertainment events and as a place for friendship

No full textIndustri kreatif pengolahan buah nanas menjadi varian keripik merupakan suatu terobosan yang dilakuakan untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya alam berupa nanas yang melimpah di Desa Lendang Nagka Utara, Kecamatan Mabagik, Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Pengolahan buah nanas menjadi varian keripik ini dilakukan untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya alam yang melimpah dan juga sebagai langkah untuk meningkatkan ekomomi masyarakat setempat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat yang ada di Desa Lendang Nangka Utara menajdi masyarakat yang berdaya saing berbasisi industri kreatif. Adapun tahapan dan metode dari kegiatan ini yaitu sosialisasi program (metode diskusi), pembentukan tim pengolahan (metode kolaboratif dan kooperatif) dan pelatihan (metode diskusi dan praktik). Hasil dari kegiatan berupa meningkatnya keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengolahan buah nanas menjadi varian keripik sehingga dapat berdampak pada peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat
