IT2Rail: Information Technologies for Shift to Rail
AbstractThe IT2Rail-“Information Technologies for Shift2Rail” project is a first step towards the long term IP4 -“IT Solutions for Attractive Railway Services”, one of the Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking's Innovation Programmes, which aims at providing a new seamless travel experience, giving access to a complete multimodal travel offer which connects the first and last mile to long distance journeys. This is achieved through the introduction of a ground breaking Technical Enabler based on two concepts:•The traveler is placed at the heart of innovative solutions, accessing all multimodal travel services (shopping, ticketing, and tracking) through its travel-companion.•An open published framework is providing full interoperability whilst limiting impacts on existing systems, without prerequisites for centralized standardization. This Technical Enabler will be completely settled in the context of the Shift2Rail IP4, and IT2Rail is proposing a reduced approach to the scale of a specified use case without weakening any of the key concepts of IP4, such as the usage of Semantic Web technologies, meta planning on distributed data, travel companion with a protected and secured personal wallet stored in the cloud and including the rights to travel. The use cases will be defined as specific instantiations of our open concepts, and will benefit from a completely scalable architecture fully instantiated in IP4. This approach is addressing all the key challenges of the work program, supporting a complete door-to- door multimodal travel offer and proposing a seamless integration of the very diverse existing and future services for planning, one-stop-shop ticketing, and real-time re-accommodation.Moreover, thanks to an Interoperability framework which insulates travel applications from the standards fragmentation in multimodal transport, IT2Rail liberates business-model innovations in the market-place, guaranteeing the economic self-sustainability of these e-services in the long-term
Risk factors at slaughter associated with presence of Salmonella on hog carcasses in Canada
Despite the application of hazard analysis and critical control point systems at slaughter and during processing, Salmonella contamination is still a significant biological hazard associated with pork products. A better understanding of risk factors in slaughterhouses and of contamination sources is therefore critical to improve control of this bacterium in the abattoirs. The objectives of this study were to identify the risk factors at slaughter that are associated with the presence of Salmonella on hog carcasses and to assess possible sources of contamination. A questionnaire on potential risk factors was developed. Over 7,400 hogs originating from 312 randomly selected production lots were tested. The lots were from 10 different abattoirs located in five different Canadian provinces. At slaughter, blood was collected for serological analysis, and mesenteric lymph nodes (MLN) and carcass swabs were collected for Salmonella analysis. Furthermore, pulsed-field gel electrophoresis was conducted to establish the genetic profiles of selected isolates from carcasses and MLN and to compare these profiles with those recovered from the slaughter environment. Multivariate regression analysis results indicated that the cleanliness of the hogs and the status of the scald water were factors significantly associated with the Salmonella status of the carcasses at the end of the slaughter process. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis analysis showed that most isolates from carcasses were similar to those from animals (MLN) or the preevisceration environment.Accession Number: 19903396. Distribution of postcritically finite polynomials II: Speed of convergence
To appear in Journal of Modern DynamicsIn the moduli space of degree d polynomials, we prove the equidistribution of postcritically finite polynomials toward the bifurcation measure. More precisely, using complex analytic arguments and pluripotential theory, we prove the exponential speed of convergence for C 2-observables. This improves results obtained with arithmetic methods by Favre and Rivera-Letellier in the unicritical family and Favre and the first author in the space of degree d polynomials. We deduce from that the equidistribution of hyperbolic parameters with (d − 1) distinct attracting cycles of given multipliers toward the bifurcation measure with exponential speed for C 1-observables. As an application, we prove the equidistribution (up to an explicit extraction) of parameters with (d − 1) distinct cycles with prescribed multiplier toward the bifurcation measure for any (d − 1) multipliers outside a pluripolar set

Parallels between Moduli of Quiver Representations and Vector Bundles over Curves
This is a review article exploring similarities between moduli of quiver representations and moduli of vector bundles over a smooth projective curve. After describing the basic properties of these moduli problems and constructions of their moduli spaces via geometric invariant theory and symplectic reduction, we introduce their hyperkähler analogues: moduli spaces of representations of a doubled quiver satisfying certain relations imposed by a moment map and moduli spaces of Higgs bundles. Finally, we survey a surprising link between the counts of absolutely indecomposable objects over finite fields and the Betti cohomology of these (complex) hyperkähler moduli spaces due to work of Crawley-Boevey and Van den Bergh and Hausel, Letellier and Rodriguez-Villegas in the quiver setting, and work of Schiffmann in the bundle setting. This article is based on lecture notes for the fifth workshop on the Geometry and Physics of Higgs bundles, and the author would like to thank Laura Schaposnik for the organisation of this workshop. The author would also like to thank the participants of a seminar on counting indecomposable quiver representations held at the Freie Universität Berlin for interesting discussions related to this topic. The death receptor CD95 activates adult neural stem cells for working memory formation and brain repair
Adult neurogenesis persists in the subventricular zone and the dentate gyrus and can be induced upon central nervous system injury. However, the final contribution of newborn neurons to neuronal networks is limited. Here we show that in neural stem cells, stimulation of the “death receptor” CD95 does not trigger apoptosis but unexpectedly leads to increased stem cell survival and neuronal specification. These effects are mediated via activation of the Src/PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, ultimately leading to a global increase in protein translation. Induction of neurogenesis by CD95 was further confirmed in the ischemic CA1 region, in the naive dentate gyrus, and after forced expression of CD95L in the adult subventricular zone. Lack of hippocampal CD95 resulted in a reduction in neurogenesis and working memory deficits. Following global ischemia, CD95-mediated brain repair rescued behavioral impairment. Thus, we identify the CD95/CD95L system as an instructive signal for ongoing and injury-induced neurogenesis

Language heirlooms consisting of grammar books, dictionaries and guides are the photograph of the Turkish language for the period in which it was written. These works are explained in the language preferred by the author. The examples given by the author are mostly with two languages. In some, however, the narration is in two languages, with examples in three, four or even five languages. Multilingual transcription texts show the vocabulary of the Turkish language and other sub-languages at the time of writing, and such works contribute not only to the Turkish language but also to the secondary languages in the work. An example of multilingual dictionaries is an 1841 work by Alexandre Handjeri, Dictionnaire Français-Arabe-Persan et Turc. An example of multi-lingual grammar is an 1838 work by Victor Letellier, Vocabulaire Oriental, Français-Italien, Arabe, Turc et Grec. An example of a multilingual guide is the French guide En trois langues: Française, Anglaise et Turque; English in English: French, English and Turkish; Ottoman Turkish, Rehber-i elsine-yi selâse: Nassif Mallouf, the author of the work which is French and English and Turkish, is a work dated 1860. Multilingual dictionaries, grammar books, and guides are old examples of today's multilingual virtual translation tools. Multi-lingual dictionaries, grammar books and guides are the subject of research of this communiqué and detailed information on its features will be presented
