This is a descriptive-exploratory study, conducted with seven graduates of the Technical Course in Community Health (CTSC) of the Landless Workers Movement (MST). Its main objective was to analyze interactions between health education - ethical issues - political issues in the daily lives of the community health technicians of MST. The research blended qualitative research with the Thematic Research proposed by Paulo Freire. With the exploration, inference and interpretation of the research material were found five categories, four of which emerged in the time of collecting specific data and one that came out in the setting of research itself, they were: (1) the amenity of the health sector; (2) the output of the militants and health sector stagnation; (3) in the course we learned how to deal and to value with the human being as a whole; (4) health education should be linked to a society project; (5) when you need the health sector works. In the interpreting process of the material these categories were grouped into three broad thematic groups: counter-hegemony of the health sector within the movement, work in health and health education. With this organization was realized transversality in the category: In the course we learned how to deal and to value with the human being as a whole. It has been demonstrated as characteristic of the formation process of the MST a contraposition to a fragmented training courses still prevailing in the health area, which contributed to the understanding one of the main challenges in training professionals to work in SUS: to promote educational processes articulated with larger struggles of social movements, contributing to an unfragmented formation in which people are understood as historical, social and collective beings

    No full text

Test-beam results of a silicon pixel detector with Time-over-Threshold read-out having ultra-precise time resolution

    No full text
A time-tagging hybrid silicon pixel detector developed for beam tracking in the NA62 experiment has been tested in a dedicated test-beam at CERN with 10 GeV/c hadrons. Measurements include time resolution, detection efficiency and charge sharing between pixels, as well as effects due to bias voltage variations. A time resolution of less than 150 ps has been measured with a 200 μm thick silicon sensor, using an on-pixel amplifier-discriminator and an end-of-column DLL-based time-to-digital converter

Changes in educational assortative mating in contemporary Spain

    No full text
This article analyses patterns and trends in educational assortative mating of the Spanish women born between 1920 and 1969 using data from the 2001 Spanish Census. By means of loglinear models we examine the following issues: i) intensity and changes in educational assortative mating patterns; ii) crossing barriers across educational thresholds and iii) degree of symmetry between male and female patterns. Results show that education matters in the composition of unions: people tend to marry assortatively according to their education. However this pattern clearly differs across cohorts and between educational groups, being higher for the extreme categories. The most notable trends are 1) the increasing intensity of homogamy among the more educated and 2) the incipient extinction of the traditional female hypergamic pattern.2001 Census, assortative mating, educational attainment, marriage, Spain

Search for Leptonic Decays of Dark Photons at NA62

    No full text
The NA62 experiment at CERN, configured in beam-dump mode, has searched for dark photon decays in flight to electron-positron pairs using a sample of 1.4×1017 protons on dump collected in 2021. No evidence for a dark photon signal is observed. The combined result for dark photon searches in lepton-antilepton final states is presented and a region of the parameter space is excluded at 90% confidence level, improving on previous experimental limits for dark photon mass values between 50 and 600 MeV/c2 and coupling values in the range 10-6 to 4×10-5. An interpretation of the e+e- search result in terms of the emission and decay of an axionlike particle is also presented

Pulsed Production of Antihydrogen in AEgIS

Low-temperature antihydrogen atoms are an effective tool to probe the validity of the fundamental laws of Physics, for example the Weak Equivalence Principle (WEP) for antimatter, and -generally speaking- it is obvious that colder atoms will increase the level of precision. After the first production of cold antihydrogen in 2002 [1], experimental efforts have substantially progressed, with really competitive results already reached by adapting to cold antiatoms some well-known techniques pre- viously developed for ordinary atoms. Unfortunately, the number of antihydrogen atoms that can be produced in dedicated experiments is many orders of magnitude smaller than of hydrogen atoms, so the development of novel techniques to enhance the production of antihydrogen with well defined (and possibly controlled) conditions is essential to improve the sensitivity. We present here some experimental results achieved by the AEgIS Collaboration, based at the CERN AD (Antiproton Decelerator) on the production of antihydrogen in a pulsed mode where the production time of 90% of atoms is known with an uncertainty of ~ 250 ns [2]. The pulsed antihydrogen source is generated by the charge-exchange reaction between Rydberg positronium (Ps*) and an antiproton (p¯): p¯ + Ps* → H¯* + e−, where Ps* is produced via the implantation of a pulsed positron beam into a mesoporous silica target, and excited by two consecutive laser pulses, and antiprotons are trapped, cooled and manipulated in Penning-Malmberg traps. The pulsed production (which is a major milestone for AEgIS) makes it possible to select the antihydrogen axial temperature and opens the door for the tuning of the antihydrogen Rydberg states, their de-excitation by pulsed lasers and the manipulation through electric field gradients. In this paper, we present the results achieved by AEgIS in 2018, just before the Long Shutdown 2 (LS2), as well as some of the ongoing improvements to the system, aimed at exploiting the lower energy antiproton beam from ELENA [3]

This reflection article aims to answer the question: What are the implications, subjectivities and intersectionalities, from a feminist stance, present in the investigation and occupational intervention with adolescent mothers? For this purpose, the viewpoints of “Las Mercedes” (name that refers to adolescent mothers under State protection; their stories and life expe- riences) will be presented for dialogue, together with my own viewpoint as an occupational therapist as a researcher and intervener. The article addresses topics such as intersectionali- ties, ideas of employment and of being a woman, among other aspects, creating the challen- ge of the research/intervention from a decolonial posture in the hope that we can recogni- zing the subjectivities we have from being part of a system and, in this manner, discuss and cooperatively build knowledge under the light of the unveiled positionalities.

    No full text
An experiment was performed at GSI with the objective of measuring theβ-intensity distribution in the decay of Hg, Au and Pt isotopes around N=126 using the total absorption gamma-ray spectroscopy technique. The aim is to benchmark theoretical models used to make predictions of half-life and neutron emission probabilities of exotic nuclei involved in the rapid neutron capture process, leading to the synthesis of very heavy elements. This paper presents some experimental details and the current status of the analysis

Observation of short range three particle correlations in e+ e- annihilations at LEP energies

    No full text
Measurements are presented of short range three-particle correlations in e+e− annihilations at LEP using data collected by the DELPHI detector. At small values of the four-momentum difference, strong three-particle correlations are observed for like-sign (+++ and −−−) and for unlike-sign (++− and +−−) pion combinations which are not a consequence of two-particle correlations. A possible explanation of the observed effects in like-sign combinations is the existence of higher order Bose-Einstein interference, which significantly changes the particle distributions in jets
