Experimental results on neutrino oscillations
The phenomenon of neutrino oscillation has been firmly established: neutrinos change their flavor in their path from their source to observers. This paper is dedicated to the description of experimental results in the oscillation field, of their present understanding and of possible future developments in experimental neutrino oscillation physics
Skriveni sukobi sa neortodoksnim prevodiocem: doprinosi Dore Gabe jevrejskoj štampi u Bugarskoj
The article presents the contributions of Dora Gabe to the Jewish newspaper „Maccabi“, published in Sofia from 1920 to 1940. She cooperated with the paper both as a translator and an original author. Gabe’s texts in „Maccabi“ have not been reprinted and are almost forgotten. This factor explains why they need to be revisited. First, I trace Edmond Fleg’s influence on Gabe’s ideas on Jewish identity, as the poet is a vivid promoter and a keen translator of Fleg’s work. Then this topic is represented in light of a hidden conflict between other journalists from Maccabi circles and Dora Gabe. The main argument of the text is that Gabe was criticized not only for assimilating into Bulgarian society but mostly because of her feminist ideas and her original, paradoxically anti-national viewpoints on the Zionist movement.U članku su predstavljeni doprinosi Dore Gabe jevrejskom listu „Makabi“, koji je izlazio u Sofiji od 1920. do 1940. godine. Tema ovog broja: "Balkanske Jevrejke" (the topic of this issue: "Balkan Jewish women")
Život i stvaralaštvo Dore Pejačević u razdoblju romantizma
Njihove su rezidencije u Našicama, Retfali, Virovitici, Podgoraču, Osijeku, Rumi, Šopronu, Budimpešti i drugim mjestima. U romantičkom se razdoblju intenzivno skladala vokalna i vokalno-instrumentalna glazba. Nadalje se u glazbi romantizma, sukladno stanju u umjetnosti općenito, mogu uočiti i vrlo jake crte historicizma u službi ideja o posebnosti, neobičnosti i jedinstvenosti.
The doctoral art project Cyclicity as a language of expression in the selected works of Robert Schumann and Dora Pejačević was conceived and based on the elaboration and comparison of four works; Robert Schumann: Kreisleriana op. 16, and Dora Pejačević: Six Fantasy Pieces op. 17, The Life of Flowers op. 19 and Sonata in B minor op. 36. In the introduction of the work, the primary essence as well as the reasons for choosing these four compositions, which are the main subject of artistic research in this work, are stated. In the main part of the work, each composition is presented separately, along with a biographical overview of each composer. In the work, first of all, the emphasis is on finding, defining, researching and comprehensively analyzing the segments of inspiration and motivation crucial for the creation of works that are carried out through research, mainly through the prism of cyclicity, which reflects, in this case, the artistic language of Robert Schumann's expression and Dora Pejačević. The conclusion establishes fundamental coincidences among the composers whose works are investigated, stating the primary reasons that connect them, and thus make the logical integrity and meaning of this doctoral art project, which certainly contributes in certain segments to the artistic community, above all to those who are interested in the period of romantic music, as and musical forms within the same, psychological and program romantic works and the identification of the composers themselves with the works they composed

Klavirske minijature Dore Pejačević : Ogled o sazrijevanju skladateljice
Prvi dio rada se ukratko osvrće na život i djelo skladateljice Dore Pejačević. U drugom dijelu se provodi analiza minijatura za klavir: Berceuse op. 2, Gondellied op. 4, Chanson sans paroles op. 5, Papillon op.6 i Menuett op.7
On the closedness of the sum of two closed operators
We find conditions on a Banach space X and on closed linear operators
A and B acting in X, which ensure that A + B is closed.
The result is applied to get maximal regularity in Banach valued L^p spaces for the abstract Cauchy problem
u'=Au+f
u(0)=0
where A is the infinitesimal generator of an analytic semigroup
Dirichlet Problem for Second-Order Abstract Differential Equations
We study the well-posedness in the space of continuous functions of the Dirichlet boundary value problem for a homogeneous linear second-order differential equation u''+Au = 0, where A is a linear closed densely defined operator in a Banach space. We give necessary conditions for the well-posedness, in terms of the resolvent operator of A. In particular we obtain an estimate on the norm of the resolvent at the points k^2, where k is a positive integer, and we show that this estimate is the best possible one, but it is not sufficient for the well-posedness of the problem. Moreover we characterize the bounded operators for which the problem is well-posed
A Dynamic Subfilter-scale Stress Model for Large Eddy Simulations Based on Physical Flow Scales
We propose a new definition of the length scale in an eddy-viscosity model for large-eddy simulations (LES). This formulation extends and generalizes a previous proposal [Piomelli, Rouhi and Geurts, Proc. ETMM10, 2014], in which the LES length scale was expressed in terms of the integral length-scale of turbulence determined by the flow characteristics and explicitly decoupled from the simulation grid; this approach was named Integral Length-Scale Approximation (ILSA). As in the original ILSA, the model coefficient was determined by the user, and required to maintain a desired contribution of the unresolved, subfilter scales (SFS) to the global transport. We propose a local formulation (local ILSA) in which the model coefficient is local in space, allowing a precise control over SFS activity as a function of location. This new formulation preserves the properties of the global model; application to channel flow and backward-facing step verifies its features and accuracy
