Recepcja żydowskich rytuałów w staropolskim apokryfie Żywot Pana Jezu Krysta
In the presented article I deal with the reception of ancient Jewish rituals by the author of the Old Polish apocryphon Żywot Pana Jezu Krysta. These are two celebrations closely related to the birth of a male descendant: the offering of the newborn and the cleansing of the mother from cultic impurity. The aim of the article is to indicate the manner in which this reception took place, as well as its theological consequences for medieval Mariology
W stronę badań słowiańskich kontekstów staropolskich apokryfów (2). Sposoby wprowadzania przytoczeń w Životě Krista Pána oraz Żywocie Pana Jezu Krysta Baltazara Opeca
The aim of the article is to observe the similarities and differences concerning the formation of text by the writers of two Slavic Biblical-apocryphal narrations based on the analyses of the means of introduction of quotations in the Czech Život Krista Pána and in the Polish Żywot Pana Jezu Krysta by Baltazar Opec. The author of the article demonstrates that the texts were written at a similar stage of development of both vernacular languages and, consequently, they include structures at different levels of complexity – indirect speech coexists with direct speech and intermediate forms. The author indicates the differences and similarities in the way the metatext is constructed. For example, she contends that the author of ŽKP used direct speech much more often, introduced quotations serving as a commentary on specific events differently (e.g., from the Bible or Church Fathers), used different patterns when introducing the utterances of the protagonists of the story. Also, the author of the article shows that the quotations intertwined in the story Żywot Pana Jezu Krysta were more expensively modified in comparison to ŽKP. Moreover, the repertoire of structures used for the inclusion of reported speech into the main narration is richer in the Polish text

Oral Health Promotion in Rural Pediatric Primary Care
abstract: Background
Pediatric oral health disparities are one of the leading global chronic problems that affect children of all socioeconomic backgrounds. Poor oral health leads to the development of dental caries, which can cascade into an innumerable number of comorbidities, including pain, infection, malnutrition, and decreased self-esteem. Oral health education from the medical and dental home in conjunction with regular cleanings and biannual fluoride varnish has been shown to decrease the risk of caries by at least one third.
Implications for Health Care Providers
Oral health, dental caries, and the resulting comorbid conditions affect the overall health of the child who follows up with their primary care provider. Pediatric health care providers can play a major role in the prevention of these dental caries through the promotion of oral health education and fluoride varnish application during well-child visits
Results
In comparison to pre-data, providers felt more confident and comfortable discussing oral health hygiene and offering fluoride varnish after the educational intervention. There was no significant change in the fluoride varnish applications pre and post in the chart audit; however, there was inconsistent data between the chart audit and the fluoride varnish questionnaire data filled out by providers during the well visit. Lastly, a significant number of parents declined the application of fluoride varnish implying that further intervention should be focused on parent education

Genetic characterization of the zoonotic parasite Ancylostoma caninum in the central and eastern USA
Ancylostoma caninum is the most common nematode parasite of dogs in the United States. This study aimed to describe the molecular epidemiology of A. caninum isolates from the central and eastern states of the U.S. using the partial mitochondrial cox1 gene and to compare them with those reported globally. We isolated eggs from fecal samples of dogs and characterized each isolate based on cox1 sequences. A total of 60 samples originating from Kansas, Iowa, New York, Florida, and Massachusetts were included. 25 haplotypes were identified in the U.S. dataset with high haplotype diversity (0.904). Sequence data were compared to sequences from other world regions available in GenBank. Global haplotype analysis demonstrated 35 haplotypes with a haplotype diversity of 0.931. Phylogenetic and network analysis provide evidence for the existence of moderate geographical structuring of A. caninum haplotypes. Our results provide an updated summary of A. caninum haplotypes and data for neutral genetic markers with utility for tracking hookworm populations. Sequences have been deposited in GenBank (ON980650 - ON980674). Further studies of isolates from other regions are essential to understand the genetic diversity of this parasite. This is a pre-print of the article Quintana, Theresa A., William L. Addressing nursing student clinical placement poverty concerns : a discussion paper
Background: Research indicates that more than two-thirds of Australian nursing students experience placement poverty and increased stress and anxiety because of the financial cost of completing clinical placements. Aim: A contemporary discussion on the issue of the financial impact of placement experienced by Australian nursing students. Design: Discursive. Discussion: >96 % of nursing students from one Australian study expressed a necessity for financial support to complete clinical placements. Available Australian scholarships and income support programs target overall university study costs. Few are placement specific. Direct and indirect costs of placement are introduced and discussed along with the impact of placement poverty on students. Media articles indicate nursing students in other countries may also experience financial stress during placement. Solution focussed recommendations are provided. Conclusion: Globally, rates of uptake of scholarships are largely unknown and there are eligibility barriers. Financial support mechanisms for students undertaking placement need to be widely disseminated and focus on reimbursement for placement costs incurred. Solutions must privilege students' learning over workforce contributions. Understanding nursing student experiences of placement poverty universally is needed to enhance placement learning experiences and student retention and wellbeing. © 2024 The Author
North Dakota State University Study Abroad Strategic Plan: Enhancing Student Mobility for the 21st Century
This study analyzes current study abroad efforts at North Dakota State University (NDSU) and aids in the design of a strategic plan to grow student mobility numbers. The NDSU study abroad office (SAO) desires to increase the number of students studying abroad from two percent to five percent of the study body by the year 2019. In order to establish accountability across the entire infrastructure of the institution, NDSU has signed onto a commitment with the Institute of International Education (IIE) and its Generation Study Abroad (GSA) initiative that aims to double the number of U.S. students nationwide that study abroad in five years. The research was conducted through an analysis and ongoing environmental scan of study abroad within the institution. The theory of change, the international education Matrix model, and modernization theory are contributing theoretical foundations discussed in regards to creating a sustainable study abroad culture on NDSU’s campus. The author develops a mission statement, program goals and objectives, and participant goals and objectives for the SAO that lay the foundation for a strategic plan that considers important strategies vital to the success of a three percent student mobility abroad increase in five years goal. This paper presents a design that includes benchmarks and desired outcomes for the following strategic areas: curriculum, staffing, program marketing, student recruitment and admissions, logistics, health and safety, crisis management, budget, and evaluation. The overall purpose of the research is to support the progression of study abroad as an internationalization effort within higher education as a direct response to globalization in conjunction with IIE and GSA
What is stopping Norwegian firms from innovating their business models? : towards a business model perspective on innovation
The purpose of this thesis is to explore the diverging concept on business model innovation
and understand why Norwegian firms fail to innovate their business models. In doing so, the
differences and relationship between BMI and service innovation, process innovation, and
product innovation is developed into a conceptual representation of a business model
perspective towards innovation.
Based on the survey data from 284 firms across industries in Norway and interviews from 11
interviewees, the author analyzes the barriers and challenges associated with attempting
business model innovation, grouping them at an individual, firm and industry level.
Ultimately, this contributes a conceptualization of a business model perspective towards
innovation for managing firm activities. Moreover, this thesis finds that because service
innovation, process innovation, and product innovation are located within the business
model itself, business model innovation faces additional barriers.nhhma
