A refined CLNA model in fretting fatigue using asymptotic characterization of the contact stress fields

    No full text
Using the Atzori-Lazzarin criterion, the first author has recently proposed a unified model for fretting fatigue (FF), called the crack-like notch analogue (CLNA) model. Two possible types of behaviour were suggested: either 'crack-like' or 'large blunt notch,' and these are immediately studied in the typical condition of constant normal load and in phase oscillating tangential and bulk loads. The former condition ('crack-like') was treated by approximating the geometry to the perfectly flat one of the crack analogue (CA), improved in some details, reducing all possible geometries to a single contact problem. The latter ('large blunt notch'), with a simple peak stress condition i.e. a simple notch analog-Lie model. In the present paper, the calculation of the 'crack-like' behaviour is unproved using the recent asymptotic characterisation developed by Dini, Hills and Sackfield, which extracts the asymptotic singular stress field of the fretting contact. A significant difference is found in the 'equivalent' geometric factor obtained for the Hertzian geometry, particularly near full sliding, where the new criterion is more conservative, but still not large enough to permit to find, for example in Nowell's FF experimental data, if the refinement is an improvement of predictive capabilities. In flatter geometries, the difference is expected to be even smaller than in the case of the Hertzian geometry, and in this case, the original CLNA model, for its simplicity, remains a very convenient simple closed form criterion

    No full text
Background: Household waste management is an important issue in Indonesia, especially in rural areas that still face limited facilities and access to information. Poor waste management can trigger environmental pollution and negatively impact public health. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with household waste management behavior in Margagiri Village.  Method: This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted from January to June 2025 in Margagiri Village, Bojonegara Subdistrict, Serang Regency. The sample consisted of 100 housewives selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test. Result: The univariate analysis showed that 56% of respondents had poor household waste management behavior and 61% had a low level of knowledge. A total of 27% of respondents had never received information related to waste management, 21% did not receive support from health workers, 82% were unemployed, and 86% had an income below the regional minimum wage. The bivariate analysis revealed significant relationships between knowledge (p=0.002), information (p=0.000), health worker support (p=0.000), and income (p=0.052) and household waste management behavior. Meanwhile, the employment variable showed no significant relationship. Conclusion: These findings indicate that household waste management behavior is influenced by the level of knowledge, access to information, support from health workers, and income level

The Semantic field of the expression “… Qalīlan Mā” in the Qur’an and the problem of Its translation

    No full text
“…اَ مًليلاَق” kalıbı “iman etmek”, “tezekkür etmek” ve “şükretmek” şeklinde üç farklı fiille birlikte Kur’an’da on âyette geçmektedir. اَ مًليلاَق” kalıbının kullanıldığı âyetlerde doğru anlamın ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmaktadır. The pattern “… اَ مًليلاَ/ق qalīlan ma” takes place in ten verses in the Qur’ān with three different verbs: “to believe in”, “to contemplate” and “to be grateful”. The meaning of this expression in both the exegeses and the translations appear to be different even in the same exegesis or translation. In fact, the meaning is expressed in such a way as to indicate the qualitative insufficiency of the relevant act used with this pattern or the quantitative insufficiency of the agents or the absence of the act in the least. In addition to this, the expressions in which the pattern “… اَ مًليلاَق” is used are expressed by different authors with different meanings even in varied verses that are passed by the same author. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the accurate meaning in verses where “… اَ مًليلاَق” pattern is used. Within this direction, we will put emphasis on the linguistic/ grammatical use of the pattern “… اَ مًليلاَق” as well as the context of the verse in which this pattern is addressed as we believe that they have an important role in revealing the accurate meaning. As a matter of fact, the related expression is used in the meaning of absence in the Arabic language as well as in the real sense (rarity). It is clear that in all the other verses, except al-Baqara 2/88, the polytheists are mentioned and therefore these expressions take place in the Meccan chapters. Since the chapter al-Baqara is an Madanian one, the address in the relevant verse is directly to the Jews. Therefore, we argue that since the interlocutors are the polytheists and Jews in the verses in which the expression take place, it is more appropriate to understand it in the sense of the absence of the acts, believing-contemplating-being grateful, to which the expression denote

Operational Cost Requirements Analysis in Early Childhood Education

    No full text
The government is attempting to obtain the access of Early Childhood Education pro- grams providing educational assistance. Unfortunately, the government has spent funds to calculate the unit costs that should not occur in the real world of education. In consequence, the aims of this study are to (1) calculate the amount of operational unit costs for Early Childhood Education pro- grams, and (2) enumerate variations and projections of the amount of the operational unit costs in Early Childhood Education programs by region category. This study uses quantitative data with pop- ulation of all Early Childhood Education institutions in Indonesia. The unit of analysis of this re- search is Early Childhood Education institutions consisting of kindergarten, Playgroup, Daycare, and ECCD units. The findings are that the highest operating unit cost is in TPA because there is a full day of service. Next is a Kindergarten institution because at this institution already has a special curriculum to prepare the child proceed to the level of basic education. Then the unit cost is the highest area in the eastern region. Recommendation in determining the amount of financial assistance it is necessary to consider the amount of operational unit costs so that the purpose of providing fi- nancial assistance is to improve access and quality can be achieved. Peran Orang Tua dalam Mendidik Kerohanian AnakUsia Dini Berdasarkan Ulangan 6

    No full text
The main and early education centers also started from the family environment. One of the important aspects that needs to be educated is the spirituality of the child. Parents have a responsibility to work on this. This spiritual education needs to be done from an early age, given that this age is the age at which the child can easily record, imitate and digest what he sees and feels. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to explain the role of parents in educating early childhood spirituality based on Deuteronomy 6. The author uses qualitative research methods. The role of parents in educating early childhood spirituality based on deuteronomy chapter 6 is by teaching the values of truth repeatedly, inviting children to worship God, and telling the history of the experience of faith with God to children. The main purpose is for the child to know and accept the Savior and live more and more like Christ. &nbsp

Quantitative evaluation of maceration in venous leg ulcers by transepidermal water loss(TEWL) measurement

    No full text
Skin maceration is a clinical manifestation in venous leg ulcers that leads to severe consequences for patients' quality of life and wound management. The aim of this study was to explore the use of transepidermal water loss (TEWL) measurement technique to quantify different level of surrounding skin maceration in patients with venous leg ulcers. A total of 50 patients were recruited and TEWL measurements were taken with a portable device on different locations surrounding the leg ulcer and on control skin. A clinical score for maceration was used and correlated to the involvement of surrounding skin. Statistically significant differences of TEWL values were noted between affected skin and control site (P <.001). Statistics showed an increase in TEWL values as the maceration clinical score increased (r = 0.954). Objective monitoring of skin maceration in venous leg ulcer with TEWL measurement represents an useful tool to analyze morphologic changes at different time points during treatment. © 2014 The Author(s)

Straipsnelyje apžvelgiama baltistikos profesoriaus Pietro U. Dini knyga Le lingue baltiche (Baltų kalbos) Pietro U. Dini. Lingue d‘Europa/ 5. series ed. Emanuele banfi. Scandicci (Firenze): La Nuova Italia, 1997. P.U. Dini knyga turėtų būti laikoma originalia ir konceptualia baltų bei Baltijos šalių istorijos ir dabarties sinteze. Išskirtinio pagyrimo, straipsnio autoriaus manymu, nusipelno aiškus profesoriaus kalbėjimo stilius bei išvados, apibendrinančios lingvistikos, archeologijos, istorijos, etnologijos, mitologijos žinias ir asmeninį požiūrį į baltistikos tyrinėjimus. The article provides an overview of the book by the professor of Baltic studies Pietro U. Dini Le lingue baltiche (Baltic Languages) Pietro U. Dini. Lingue d’Europa/5. series ed. Emanuele banfi. Scandicci (Firenze): La Nuova Italia, 1997. The above book received positive reviews by specialists of Baltic languages and was translated into Lithuanian, Latvian and Russian languages within rather short time. The author describes this book, the most important work by P. U. Dini, as a modern and professional introduction to the Baltic philology and linguistics. The general overview and all sections of the book are briefly introduced. Emphasis is placed on the special approach of the author of the Baltic Languages to the historical development of the language and dialects: pursuant to the Italian neolinguistic tradition, it is associated with social, political and cultural development of tribes and nations. The Baltic Languages gives a linguistic description of the historical Baltic parent language and numerous aspects of the live and extinct Baltic language. The book contains comprehensive information introducing the reader to the environment of the first millennium surrounding the Balts and affecting the formation of their language. Namely attractiveness for the reader mainly due to additional information and explanations is one of the most peculiar features of the book. The end of the book provides an impressive list of references. The book by P. U. Dini should be considered an original and conceptual synthesis of history and the present of the Balts and the Baltic States. In the opinion of the author of the article, particular merit is due to the clear style of the professor and conclusions summarising linguistic, archaeological, historical, ethnological and mythological knowledge and personal attitude to the Baltic studies
