Background: Psychosocial problems among nursing students have become a significant concern in healthcare education. High academic demands combined with clinical practice pressures create vulnerability to mental health issues. This study aimed to describe psychosocial problems among D-III nursing students in Poso. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted among 111 nursing students using the SRQ-29 questionnaire. Data were collected through online forms and interviews over three days. The study focused on identifying neurosis-related psychosocial problems among respondents. Results: The findings revealed that 57 students (51.4%) experienced neurosis problems, while 54 students (48.6%) showed no significant psychosocial issues. Female students showed higher prevalence (52.7%) compared to males (48.6%). The highest proportion of neurosis cases was found among third-year students (56.3%) and those aged 16-17 years (71.4%). Conclusion: More than half of nursing students experience psychosocial problems, primarily neurosis. These findings highlight the need for mental health support programs and counseling services within nursing education institutions

Implementing the Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT) for Managing Ineffective Breathing Pattern in a Patient with Congestive Heart Failure: A Case Study

Background: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is a chronic clinical syndrome characterized by the heart\u27s inability to pump blood effectively, often leading to dyspnea due to pulmonary congestion. The Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT) is a breathing exercise designed to regulate breathing patterns, improve ventilation, and facilitate sputum clearance, which may alleviate dyspnea in CHF patients. To evaluate the effectiveness of ACBT in reducing dyspnea in a CHF patient with an ineffective breathing pattern Methods: A case study design with a nursing care approach was conducted over three days. The patient was assessed through interview and observation. A nursing diagnosis of Ineffective Breathing Pattern (SDKI D.0005) was established. Interventions included Airway Management (SIKI I.01011), semi-Fowler positioning, and ACBT administration for 15 minutes daily. Respiratory rate was measured using an oximeter, and dyspnea complaints were monitored. Results: Before the intervention, the patient complained of dyspnea with a respiratory rate of 28 breaths/minute, using accessory muscles and nasal flaring. After three days of ACBT intervention, the respiratory rate decreased to 20 breaths/minute, and the patient reported no further dyspnea. Conclusion: The ACBT intervention was effective in reducing respiratory rate and relieving dyspnea in a CHF patient with an ineffective breathing pattern. ACBT can be recommended as a non-pharmacological nursing intervention to manage dyspnea in CHF patient

Background: Aedes mosquitoes are the main vectors of dengue fever (DF), which remains a public health problem in Indonesia. Excessive use of chemical repellents can cause adverse effects on humans and the environment, so safe and effective natural alternatives are needed. This study aims to determine the protective power of langsat peel extract (Lansium domesticum) as a repellent against Aedes sp. mosquitoes. Method: Experimental with a post-test only with a control group design. The variations in extract concentration used were 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%, with five repetitions. The parameters observed were the number of mosquitoes that landed during six hours of observation every five minutes, and the results were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using the protection power formula  Result: The results showed that the protective power of langsat peel extract increased with concentration, namely 84% at a concentration of 15% (not protective), 95% at 20% (highly protective), and 100% at 25% and 30% (highly protective). Conclusion: Langsat peel extract with a concentration of ≥20% is effective as a natural repellent against Aedes sp. mosquitoes and has the potential to be developed as an environmentally friendly natural repellent base ingredien

Training and Mentoring of Health Cadres with the Smart Cadre Pocket Book to Prevent Stunting in Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi

Stunting remains a significant public health problem in Indonesia, particularly in Donggala District, where the prevalence has reached 32.4%. In Loli Tasiburi Village, the prevalence of stunted children under five is 28%, exceeding the national average. Local government efforts through supplementary feeding have not been sufficient to reduce the prevalence, thus requiring additional interventions such as education and cadre empowerment. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of village cadres in stunting prevention through Training based on the Pocket Book for Smart Cadres to Prevent Stunting. The methods included interactive education, hands-on anthropometric measurement practice, pocket book distribution, and one-month mentoring. Evaluation was done through pre-test and post-test, skills observation, and post-training monitoring. The results showed a significant increase in cadre knowledge, with the average score rising from 58.5 to 84.2 (an increase of 43.9%), and 85% of participants could perform anthropometric measurements according to WHO standards. Post-training mentoring reinforced the cadres’ ability to apply their skills in community health posts, as indicated by the increased reports of early stunting detection and nutrition education for pregnant women and toddlers. The pocket book proved effective as a practical guide supporting program sustainability. This activity successfully enhanced cadre capacity in stunting prevention, although program continuity requires multi-sectoral support from village government, health centers, and local health authorities

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus, often leading to end-stage renal failure. Patient knowledge is a critical factor in preventing or slowing its progression. This study aimed to assess the level of knowledge regarding CKD risk among diabetic patients. Methods: A descriptive quantitative study was conducted in the working area of Talise Public Health Center, Palu. From a total population of 219, a sample of 69 respondents was selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire assessing knowledge of CKD etiology, symptoms, and risk factors. Knowledge levels were categorized as good, sufficient, or poor based on total scores. Results: The study found that less than half of the respondents (37.7%) had good knowledge of CKD risks. A plurality (47.8%) had sufficient knowledge, while 14.5% had poor knowledge. Conclusion: While most diabetic patients in this setting possess at least sufficient knowledge, the proportion with good knowledge remains under 40%. This indicates a significant need for enhanced and targeted patient education programs to improve understanding of CKD risks. Future research should investigate determinants of knowledge and develop effective community-based interventions for CKD prevention
