Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Laberintos de materialidades expuestas: un estudio de lo erótico, grotesco y absurdo en la obra de Takato Yamamoto
No full textIn this article, we analyze how spaces and bodies intertwine and dissolve each other’s boundaries in the works of the Japanese artist Takato Yamamoto. To achieve this, we employ the “formless”, concept coined by Georges Bataille, and “rhizome”, a concept developed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. These terms and concepts help us comprehend the articulation of the erotic, the grotesque, and the nonsense as they emerge from heterogeneity, resulting in disruptions caused by the interplay between the interior and the exterior. Our investigation delves into the imagery found within Takato Yamamoto’s books, with the aim of discerning how the unfolding of bodies interacts with space, giving rise to both indeterminacies and intricate labyrinths of exposed materialities.En este artículo, analizamos cómo en la obra del artista japonés Takato Yamamoto los espacios y los cuerpos se colapsan, al mezclarse y disolver los límites entre sí. Para ello, recurrimos al “informe”, término formulado por Georges Bataille, y al “rizoma”, concepto creado por Gilles Deleuze y Félix Guattari, para entender de qué manera lo erótico, lo grotesco y lo absurdo se articulan a partir de la heterogeneidad como desórdenes surgidos del entrelazamiento del interior y el exterior. Investigamos, así, imágenes de los libros de Takato Yamamoto, con el propósito de percibir cómo la apertura de los cuerpos interactúa con el espacio, creando indeterminaciones y al mismo tiempo laberintos de materialidades expuestas.Neste artigo, analisamos como na obra do artista japonês Takato Yamamoto os espaços e os corpos são colapsados, ao se mesclarem e ao dissolverem os limites uns dos outros. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textNeste artigo, investigamos o informe, na obra de Hans Bellmer, como possibilidade de releitura da anamorfose a partir dos conceitos de diagrama e mancha, estudados por Kenneth Clark em seu texto “The blot and the diagram”. Dessa maneira, analisamos a relação entre corpo e cenário, ao explorar como Bellmer busca no studium, conceito de Roland Barthes, gerar ambiguidades, subvertendo a iconografia dedicada ao erotismo e os limites entre o exterior e o interior. Com base nesses processos, examinamos como o informe se desdobra da anamorfose e o evocamos, na obra de Bellmer, como dúvida, no instante em que a perspectiva e a anatomia são colapsadas pelo diagrama e pela mancha, dos quais se originam elementos de ordem abstrata e figurativa.In this article, we investigate the formless in Hans Bellmer’s work as a possibility of re-reading the anamorphosis from the concepts of blot and diagram, studied by Kenneth Clark in his text “The blot and the diagram”. In this sense, we analyze the relationship between body and scenery, exploring how Bellmer seeks to generate ambiguities through the studium – Roland Barthes’ concept –, subverting the iconography dedicated to eroticism and the boundaries between exterior and interior. Based on these processes, we examine how the formless unfolds from the anamorphosis, in order to understand it as a doubt in Bellmer’s work when perspective and anatomy are collapsed by the diagram and the blot, from which elements of abstract and figurative order originate

DA PREVENÇÃO À INVESTIGAÇÃO: COMO A FILOSOFIA DE POLÍCIA COMUNITÁRIA PODE SER APLICADA NA POLÍCIA CIVIL DE GOIÁS
Get PDFO presente artigo científico apresenta um debate sobre a filosofia de Polícia Comunitária, realçando seu conceito e seus princípios, destacando como tal doutrina pode ser utilizada na atualidade, elencando a eficácia desta matéria no combate à criminalidade, além de demostrar sua utilização dessas como com uma estratégia de aproximação entre a polícia e a comunidade. Não possuindo a intenção de esgotar a discussão sobre o tema, o artigo denota que tal experiência de aproximação entre polícia e a comunidade o que geraria uma relação de confiança. Neste sentido a forma como tal doutrina é utilizada pela segurança pública é considerado como uma estratégia organizacional. Nesse caso a aplicação dessa filosofia nas polícias é um fator significativo para a segurança pública de diversos países. Esse estudo objetiva destacar também a aplicabilidade, o gerenciamento e a organização da doutrina na segurança pública brasileira, ressaltando as iniciativas nas polícias investigativas em especial a Polícia Civil do Estado de Goiás, destacando a compatibilidade do policiamento comunitário com os princípios constitucionais e infraconstitucionais, além de ressaltar seus próprios princípios, apontando ainda a posição de órgãos públicos federais sobre o tema. Demostrando iniciativas da polícia investigativa goiana no combate ao aumento da criminalidade no Estado de Goiás.Palavras-chaves: Sociedade. Polícia. Aproximação. Estratégia. Princípios
