Corinne ou l'Italie de Mme de Staël: da adaptação à retradução estrangeirizante

Programa de Pós-graduação em Estudos da TraduçãoVinculada à linha de pesquisa da "Teoria, crítica e história da tradução", este trabalho de mestrado objetiva a análise comentada do original, da primeira tradução e a retradução dos três primeiros livros da obra Corinne ou l'Italie, da escritora Madame de Staël. Na introdução a este trabalho, disserta-se sobre a literatura de Madame de Staël, sua vida, suas obras e o contexto da sua época. O primeiro capítulo analisa a obra de estudo original Corinne ou l'Italie e a primeira tradução para o português do Brasil Corina ou a Itália (1945, Edições Cultura), a partir do percurso proposto por Berman em Pour une critique des traductions: Jonh Donne (1995,) em busca das zonas problemáticas, dos traços estilísticos, das palavras-chave e do tradutor a fim de conhecer a sua posição tradutiva, seu horizonte e projeto de tradução. Em seguida, são verificados os prováveis processos de adaptação na primeira tradução, de acordo com as teorias de Bastin (2001) e Gambier (1992), entre outros. A partir dessas análises, propõe-se no capítulo 2 a retradução dos três primeiros livros da obra. Referenciam-se, entre outras, as teorias de Venuti (1986) sobre a visibilidade do tradutor, de Berman (1999) sobre a tradução da letra e a ética da tradução. Após a reflexão apoiada nessas teorias, optou-se como projeto realizar uma retradução estrangeirizante que propõe acolher o estrangeiro, com o objetivo de realizar uma prática tradutória que evidencie a letra da obra, mostrando assim o trabalho do tradutor. No capítulo 3, apresentam-se os aspectos semânticos, culturais, estilísticos e outros, verificados no original e comentados com os respectivos exemplos da retradução e da primeira tradução. Seguindo as considerações finais, o Apêndice é apresentado em forma de coluna com o texto original, a retradução e a primeira tradução Corina ou a Itália dos três primeiros livros propostos para esta pesquisa.Ce travail, qui est lié à la ligne de recherche "Théorie, critique et histoire de la traduction ", a pour but l'analyse commentée de l'original, de la première traduction et de la retraduction des trois premiers livres de l'oeuvre Corinne ou l'Italie, de l'écrivain Madame de Staël. La littérature, la vie, les oeuvres de Staël et le contexte de son époque sont abordés en introduction. Le premier chapitre analyse l'oeuvre originale Corinne ou l'Italie et la première traduction en portugais du Brésil Corina ou a Itália (1945, Edições Cultura), ayant pour base le parcours proposé par Berman dans Pour une critique des traductions: Jonh Donne (1995), afin de chercher les zones signifiantes, les traits stylistiques, les mots-clés, ainsi que le traducteur, sa position traductive, son horizon et projet de traduction. Ensuite, sont verifiées les probables procédures d'adaptation dans la première traduction, selon les théories de Bastin (2001) et Gambier (1992), entre autres. A partir de ces analyses, dans le chapitre 2, est proposée la retraduction des trois premiers livres. Les théories de Venuti (1986) sur la visibilité du traducteur et de Berman (1999) sur la traduction de la lettre et l'éthique de la traduction sont notamment référencées pour appuyer le choix du projet de retraduction qui a pour but d'accueillir l'étranger et de réaliser un travail de traduction qui met en évidence la lettre de l'oeuvre, ainsi que le travail du traducteur. Dans le chapitre 3, les traits sémantiques, culturels, stylistiques et d'autres traits sont verifiés à partir de l'original et commentés avec les respectifs exemples de la retraduction et de la première traduction. Après les considérations finales, l'Appendice est présenté sous forme de colonne avec le texte original, la retraduction et la première traduction Corina ou a Itália des trois premiers livres proposés pour cette recherche
Semantic Constructions for Hidden Algebra
No full textHidden algebra is a behavioural algebraic specification formalism for objects. It captures their constructional aspect, concerned with the initialisation and evolution of their states, as well as their observational aspect, concerned with the observable behaviour of such states. When attention is restricted to the observational aspect, final/cofree constructions provide suitable denotations for the specification techniques involved. However, when the constructional aspect is integrated with the observational one, the presence of nondeterminism in specifications prevents the existence of final/cofree algebras. It is shown here that final/cofree families of algebras exist in this case, with each algebra in such a family resolving the nondeterminism in a particular way. Existence of final/cofree families yields a canonical way of constructing algebras of structured specifications from algebras of the component specifications. Finally, a layered approach to specifying complex objects in hidden algebra is presented, with the semantics still involving final/cofree families

No primeiro capítulo, descrevem-se a vida e as obras da autora, com ênfase para Corinne ou l'Italie, que foi traduzida e retraduzida em outras línguas, principalmente o inglês, italiano e alemão. Em seguida, no capítulo 2, apresenta-se a primeira tradução para o português do Brasil Corina ou a Itália (1945, Edições Cultura). Como terceira etapa, comenta-se a retradução com base nas reflexões teóricas de Berman, Pym, Venuti, Gambier. Apresentam-se exemplos dos aspectos semânticos, culturais, estilísticos presentes ao longo dos XX livros, a partir do original e da retradução. Os comentários do processo de tradução permitem uma frutífera troca literária e cultural e a tradução, o estudo e conhecimento da obra de Madame de Staël, por consequência, enriquecem o cânone da literatura francesa traduzida no Brasil.Abstract : This thesis, linked to the research field "Theory, criticism and history of translation" attempts to do a commented retranslation of Mme de Staël's Corinne ou l'Italie (1807). The first chapter describes the life and the works of the author, with emphasis on Corinne ou l'Italie, which was translated and retranslated into other languages, mainly English, Italian and German. In Chapter 2, the first translation of Corinne ou l'Italie into Brazilina Portuguese (1945, Cultura Printings) is presented. In chapter 3 the retranslation is analyzed through comments based on theoretical reflections of Berman, Pym, Venuti and Gambier. Examples of semantic, cultural and stylistics aspects of the XX books (original and retranslated version) are presented. The comments of the translation process allow a rich literary and cultural exchange. As well as a deeper investigation about Madame de Staël's work enriches the standard of French literature in Brazil

No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
