    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor internal dan faktor eksternal siswa yang tidak bersedia mengikuti kegiatan kepramukaan dalam menanamkan sikap bela negara. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 48 Jakarta, Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta Selatan selama empat bulan dari akhir Februari sampai Mei 2015. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan studi kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, pengamatan, wawancara, dokumentasi dan dilengkapi dengan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat dua faktor siswa tidak bersedia mengikuti kegiatan kepramukaan dalam menanamkan sikap bela negara. Yakni faktor internal yaitu kebiasaan tidak mau mengikuti kegiatan pramuka lebih memilih kabur dan diri sendiri yang merasa malas. (2) Faktor eksternal yaitu lingkungan sekitar siswa antara lain teman sebaya yang lingkungannya negatif. Rendahnya kesadaran siswa dalam kedisiplinan membuat siswa berani melanggar peraturan sekolah karena siswa merasa mengikuti kegiatan kepramukaan bukan sesuatu hal yang penting dan tidak adanya dorongan dari lingkungan siswa tersebut membuat siswa menjadi terbiasa melakukan penyimpangan. This research aims to know the internal and external factors of students who were not willing to follow the Scouting activity in instilling an attitude of Defense of the State. This research was conducted at the SMP Negeri 48 Jakarta, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, for four months from the end of February until May 2015. The methods used in this research was the qualitative study approach, with the technique of collecting data through observation, monitoring, interview, documentation and equipped with entry field. The results showed that: (1) there are two factors of students were not willing to follow the Scouting activity in instilling an attitude of Defense of the State. I.e. internal factors namely the habit unwilling to follow the activities of the Scouts prefer vague and myself are feeling lazy. (2) External factors, namely the environment around students among other peers that environment negatively. Low awareness of students in the discipline of making students dare to violate school rules because students feel follow scouting activities is not something that is important and the absence of encouragement from the environment that make students become accustomed to doing a perversion

    ABSTRAK Evi Chintia Dwi Kurnia (2019): Kesulitan Siswa Menggunakan Kata Benda dalam Menulis Teks Deskriptif di sekolah SMP 4 Satu Atap Tebing Karimun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) kesulitan siswa menggunakan Kata Benda dalam menulis teks descriptive pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Satu Atap Tebing Karimun (2) factor yang menyebabkan siswa kesulitan menggunakan kata benda dalam menulis teks Descriptive . Desain penelitian ini adalah descriptive dengan 30 siswa sebagai sample dari 30 siswa kelas VII SMP 4 Satu Atap Tebing Karimun. Untuk mengumpulkan data, peneliti menggunakan test dan kesioner dengan validitas dan reabilitas tinggi. Test untuk megukur tingkat kesulitan siswa dan kuesioner untuk mencari factor yang menyebabkan kesulitan siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data, penulis menemukan bahawa kesulitan tertinggi siswa menggunakan kata benda dalam menulis teks deskriptif adalah siswa tidak dapat mengidentifikasi compound noun 48,89% dan penulis menemukan bahwa faktor tertinggi menyebabkan siswa kesulitan menggunakan kata benda adalah kesulitan linguistic 43,99% Kata Kunci : Kata Benda, Menulis, Teks Deskripti

    Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
