Chamber of Deputies. The once prominent composer, author, and music critic
represented the Fascist Union of Musicians in the chamber and had roles in the
administration of government-subsidized festivals. Although little is written about the
composer-legislator, what is available depicts him as opportunistic and self-serving.
Previous scholarship claims that he used his position in the fascist bureaucracy to his own
advantage by pushing his aesthetic philosophy through legislation. These claims are
substantiated by Lualdi’s private communications and published works which detail his
opinions on musical aesthetics. Comparing Lualdi’s political records to his publications
shows that his personal opinions on aesthetics did not interfere with legislation to the
degree that past scholarship suggests. I argue that previous scholarship conflates Lualdi’s
legislative voice with his personal voice, offering a distorted, and therefore incomplete
version of Adriano Lualdi as a historical figure

portando all’attenzione del lettore la visione di biblioteca promossa e concretizzata da Adriano Olivetti a servizio della
sua fabbrica di macchine per scrivere, finalizzata all’avanzamento sociale complessivo della comunità di cui era parte.
Partendo dalle prime esperienze delle biblioteche di fabbrica, l’articolo riflette poi sul ruolo delle biblioteche immaginato
dallo stesso Adriano nell’ambito dei progetti di ricostruzione da lui diretti nel dopoguerra, passando a un’idea di biblioteca
che fosse ‘diffusa’ e altresì infrastruttura di base dei ‘centri comunitari’, cellule democratiche del progetto comunitario
di Adriano.The article contributes to the current debate on the identity of the contemporary public library and on its social role
reflecting on the vision of the library promoted and concretized by Adriano Olivetti within his factories, aimed at the overall
social advancement of its community.
Starting from the first experiences of the factory libraries, the article reflects on the role of libraries imagined by Adriano
within the reconstruction projects he led in the post-war period, passing through an idea of a ‘diffused’ library, also as
basic infrastructure of the ‘community centers’, the democratic cells of Adriano’s community project

Programa de Pós-Graduação em HistóriaEsta dissertação trata do processo de construção do urbano e da memória em São Miguel do Oeste, Santa Catarina. Através dela, procuro mostrar uma cidade que começou a ser feita antes dos anos 40 e que cresceu influenciada pelos discursos de progresso e de prosperidade. Nesta cidade, as fronteiras entre urbano e rural, passado, presente e futuro, real e ideal, foram sempre muito tênues ou inexistentes, sendo deslocadas constantemente pelos inúmeros sujeitos que por ela passaram. Foram estes sujeitos que fizeram São Miguel do Oeste em diferentes momentos, deixando suas marcas nesta cidade e a ela atribuindo significados diversos, conforme suas experiências e seu poder de interferência e transformação da realidade vivida. Assim, enquanto para alguns São Miguel se fez através da proximidade com os espaços oficiais de poder, da busca por grandes obras e projetos e, mais tarde, também da reconstrução do passado local, o que deu visibilidade aos chamados pioneiros e desbravadores do município, para outros a cidade se fez em momentos de conflito, de miséria, de exclusão social e de luta. Foi dessa forma que uma "rede de famílias antigas" pôde manter-se visível e influente até hoje no cotidiano local, com seus membros sendo lembrados anualmente durante a comemoração do aniversário municipal, enquanto um grande número de moradores de São Miguel do Oeste e do Extremo Oeste Catarinense permaneceu segregado, boa parte nas "favelas" da (s) cidade (s), distante dos espaços públicos de poder e da memória oficial

No full textDopo un primo accostamento all’idealismo fichtiano, Adriano Tilgher elaborò una concezione della filosofia come tensione irrisolvibile tra opzioni morali e visioni del mondo, rifiutando ogni totalità sistematica. Sul piano religioso, per Tilgher il problema fondamentale di ogni religione è il problema del male: di fronte ad esso, se il buddismo ha proposto di fuggire il mondo, il cristianesimo «ha sempre considerato il mondo, la vita, la società come campi di combattimento e preparazione del cielo». Le soluzioni religiose tradizionali, compreso il cristianesimo, sono, però, afferma Tilgher, in grave crisi, dato l’indebolimento della credenza nell’involucro mitico che le sosteneva, ma il tema del male resta non certo meno pressante del passato e l’autore si mostra estremamente critico anche con le ideologie politiche che hanno preteso di sostituire le tradizioni religiose, non certo risolvendo e anzi aumentando ancora l’entità del male.

After an initial approach to Fichtean idealism, Adriano Tilgher developed a conception of philosophy as an irreconcilable tension between moral options and worldviews, rejecting any systematic totality. On a religious level, for Tilgher, the fundamental problem of every religion is the problem of evil: in the face of it, while Buddhism has proposed to escape the world, Christianity "has always regarded the world, life, and society as fields of battle and preparation for heaven." However, traditional religious solutions, including Christianity, are, Tilgher asserts, in serious crisis due to the weakening of belief in the mythical framework that supported them. Yet, the theme of evil remains no less pressing than in the past, and the author is extremely critical of political ideologies that have sought to replace religious traditions, which have not resolved the issue but rather exacerbated the extent of evil.

Approach to a stationary state in a driven Hubbard model coupled to a thermostat
No full textWe investigate the dynamics of the Hubbard model in a static electric field in order to identify the conditions necessary to reach a nonequilibrium stationary state. We show that, for a generic electric field, the convergence to a stationary state requires coupling to a thermostatting bath that absorbs the work done by the external field. Following the real-time dynamics of the system, we show that a nonequilibrium stationary state is reached for essentially any value of the coupling to the bath. We characterize the properties of such nonequilibrium stationary states by studying suitable physical observables, pointing out the existence of an analog of the Pomeranchuk effect as a function of the electric field. We map out a phase diagram in terms of dissipation and electric field strengths and identify the dissipation values at which the steady current is largest for a given field.
