Estabilidade e propriedades sensoriais da bebida de farelo de arroz parbolizado orgânico e os efeitos de seu consumo em ratos

O uso deste farelo vem crescendo no País devido ao seu valor nutricional e benefícios à saúde. Com o objetivo de oferecer alternativas para o consumo do farelo de arroz, foi elaborada uma bebida de extrato deste farelo em dois diferentes sabores. A bebida foi tratada termicamente e avaliada quanto à composição química, estabilidade e propriedades sensoriais, parâmetros de qualidade pertinentes ao novo produto. Os parâmetros para avaliar a vida de prateleira foram acidez titulável, pH e reologia. Foi realizado um ensaio biológico com ratos, para avaliar os efeitos do seu consumo no colesterol total e glicose e outro ensaio biológico para determinar o comportamento de ratos no nado forçado e no labirinto em cruz elevado com determinação de ACTH plasmático, além do efeito desta bebida na absorção de cálcio em ratos. A análise da composição nutricional mostrou um produto rico em ácidos graxos insaturados e minerais, especialmente, fósforo, potássio, manganês e magnésio. A reologia mostrou que a bebida obtida com este farelo estabilizado conservou-se por 20 dias sob refrigeração. A análise sensorial indicou que a bebida de farelo de arroz foi aceita dentro das formulações estabelecidas. Foi verificado que, em ratos, a bebida de farelo de arroz não apresentou efeito significativo (p>0,05) sobre o colesterol, mas apresentou efeito significativo (p0,05). Não houve efeito negativo na absorção de cálcio.The stabilized rice bran is a byproduct of processing grain of rice. Use of this meal is growing in the country because of its nutritional value and health benefits. Aiming to offer alternatives to the consumption of rice bran, was prepared for a drink of this bran extract in two different flavors. The drink was treated and evaluated as to the chemical composition, stability and sensory properties, the quality parameters relevant to the new product. The parameters to evaluate the shelf-life were acidity, pH and rheology. An assay was conducted with rats to evaluate the effects of its consumption in total cholesterol and glucose and other biological test to determine the behavior of rats in the forced swim and in the plus maze with determination of plasma ACTH, in addition to the effect of this drink in the absorption of calcium in rats. The analysis of the nutritional composition showed a product rich in unsaturated fatty acids and minerals, especially phosphorus, potassium, manganese and magnesium. The rheology showed that the drinks with the meal stabilized lasted 20 days under refrigeration. The sensory analysis indicated that the drink of rice bran was accepted into the formulations established. It was found that in rats, the drink of rice bran showed no significant effect (p> 0.05) on cholesterol, but significant effect (p 0.05). There was no negative effect on the absorption of calcium

No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

San Carlos Apache Tribe transit feasibility study : final report
No full textabstract: In October 2009, the San Carlos Apache Tribe completed an update to their Long-Range Transportation Plan. One of the recommendations from the LRTP was for the Tribe to conduct an extensive transit feasibility study to evaluate the existing services and identify improvement opportunities. The San Carlos Apache Transit Services applied for, and received Planning Assistance for Rural Areas program funding from the Arizona Department of Transportation Multimodal Planning Division to conduct the Transit Feasibility Study. The study consists of two separate phases: The first phase focuses on the feasibility of expanding and enhancing the San Carlos Apache Transit Services operation, and the second phase is the development of a five-year plan for implementing the recommended enhancements and service expansion. Producción científica y visibilidad de los investigadores de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid en las bases de datos del ISI, 1997-2003
No full textLos objetivos planteados en esta tesis son conocer los hábitos de publicación de los investigadores adscritos a un conjunto de áreas/departamentos de la UC3M, durante el período 1997-2003, en las bases de datos del Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), identificando la calidad de las publicaciones recogidas (documentos propios y citas recibidas), medida ésta en términos de impacto y visibilidad, y relacionando esta calidad con los hábitos de publicación obtenidos.
La metodología utilizada en el trabajo ha requerido la aplicación conjunta de técnicas estadísticas (univariantes, bivariantes y multivariantes), y del análisis de redes sociales, para la construcción de indicadores bibliométricos unidimensionales y multidimensionales, tanto de la producción científica identificada como de las citas recibidas por la misma.
Entre las conclusiones del estudio destaca que tanto la producción como las citas recibidas en todas las áreas/departamentos analizados tienen una tendencia ascendente, que los trabajos se realizan habitualmente en colaboración, así como que las temáticas con mayor producción son Física y Matemáticas, que gran parte de la investigación se publica en revistas situadas en el primer cuartil del Journal Citation Reports (JCR), y que esta actividad investigadora recibe normalmente citas de revistas con igual o mejor posición en el JCR en función de su Factor de Impacto

No full textNeste trabalho de revisão de literatura, a composição, a estabilidade, as aplicações e os benefícios à saúde do farelo de arroz foram abordados. Aspectos referentes à composição de biofenóis no óleo de arroz e novas tecnologias empregadas para extração e refino do óleo também foram discutidos. Subproduto do beneficiamento do arroz com amplas possibilidades de uso, o farelo evidencia grande potencial econômico. O consumo humano de farelo e óleo de arroz no Brasil ainda é reduzido, no entanto, a tendência do mercado mundial e as pesquisas apontam para promissoras aplicações desse produto.The rice bran composition, stability, applications and health benefits were discussed in this review. Aspects of biophenols composition of rice bran oil and new technologies used during extraction and refining of the oil also were approached. The rice bran is a rice by-product and it evidences high using possibilities and also great economical potential. Still is reduced the human consumption of bran and rice bran oil in Brazil, however, the trend of the world market and the research shows promising applications of this product

No full textCarlos C. Campbell (1892-1978) was a founding member of the Great Smoky Mountains Conservation Association. Formed in 1923, the association promoted the establishment of a national park in the Great Smoky Mountains. The archival material in this series is part of the records of the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club, formed after a group of outdoor enthusiasts hiked up to Mount LeConte in October 1924. Campbell was also a member of the club and is author of “Birth of a National Park,” published in 1960

No full textPH Coll 1156.5Bulosan, Carlos (1911?-1956): Prolific writer and poet, best remembered as the author of AMERICA IS IN THE HEART, a landmark semi-autobiographical story about the Filipino immigrant experience. Bulosan gained recognition in mainstream American society with the 1944 publication of LAUGHTER OF MY FATHER, which was excerpted in the New Yorker, Harper’s Bazaar, and Town and Country. He immigrated to America from the Philippines in 1930, endured horrendous conditions as a laborer, became active in the labor movement, and was blacklisted along with other labor radicals during the 1950s.
