Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia de Produção.O fim do chamado "milagre brasileiro" e o gradual "fechamento da fronteira agrícola", durante a década de 1970, foram os principais responsáveis pela exclusão de muitos pequenos agricultores, originando um êxodo rural sem precedentes. Desde então, muitas iniciativas municipais/estaduais/federais têm sido tomadas no intuito de assentar esse contingente de sem-terra. Nesse sentido, o governador do Paraná, Jaime Lerner (1994), idealizou a formação de um novo sistema que não seria só habitacional e nem mero re-assentamento, denominado Vilas Rurais. Tendo como base o projeto das Vilas Rurais e a reflexão feita a partir de entrevistas e questionamentos realizados com os moradores da Vila Rural Santa Clara, no município de Marechal Cândido Rondon - PR, pretende-se, na presente Dissertação, analisar os significados e os componentes dessa política pública, no sentido de contribuir para seu bom funcionamento e para a elaboração de outras políticas afins
New methods for numerical estimation of convective heat transfer coefficient in circular ducts
No full textEstimating the internal heat transfer coefficient in ducts is becoming increasingly important in many engineering applications. Unlike traditional estimation methods which seek to recover the unknown coefficient by using optimization tools such as iterative methods or linear system solvers, new solution methods based on forward/inverse analytical solutions have gained noticeable interest. Two recently proposed non traditional methods are an explicit Fourier analysis-based (EFA) reconstruction method of Bazán and Bedin and a filtered reciprocity functional (FRF) approach of Mocerino et al. Both methods provide approximate solutions that are expressed as a sum of weighted harmonics where the number of terms used in the reconstruction depends on the noise level in the data and is selected using the Morozov's discrepancy principle (DP). In the present work, these methods are analyzed to identify similarities and differences as well as to introduce improvements. In particular, limitations of the FRF method in determining the truncation parameter are discussed and circumvented. This gives rise to new methods for heat flux estimation that are easy to implement and extremely inexpensive when compared to existing techniques. To illustrate the effectiveness of the new methods we present numerical results on several test problems including an analytical model obtained by synthesizing experimental data reported by Bozzoli et al. and several benchmark problems reported by Mocerino et al

Photometry and astrometry with JWST -- II. NIRCam distortion correction
Get PDFIn preparation to make the most of our own planned James Webb Space Telescope
investigations, we take advantage of publicly available calibration and
early-science observations to independently derive and test a
geometric-distortion solution for NIRCam detectors. Our solution is able to
correct the distortion to better than ~0.2 mas. Current data indicate that the
solution is stable and constant over the investigated filters, temporal
coverage, and even over the available filter combinations. We successfully
tested our geometric-distortion solution in three cases: (i) field-object
decontamination of M 92 field; (ii) estimate of internal proper motions of M
92; and (iii) measurement of the internal proper motions of the Large
Magellanic Cloud system. To our knowledge, the here-derived
geometric-distortion solution for NIRCam is the best available and we publicly
release it, as many other investigations could potentially benefit from it.
Along with our geometric-distortion solution, we also release a Python tool to
convert the raw-pixels coordinates of each detector into distortion-free
positions, and also to put all the ten detectors of NIRCam into a common

El ejercicio performativo de la ciudadanía a partir de la teoría de Judith Butler
Get PDFIn the present paper I approach Judith Butler’s theoretical contributions concerning the concept of citizenship. Butler has not developed a systematic theory of citizenship. Nevertheless, I affirm that this theory can be reconstructed on the basis of her social ontology and her account of performative contradiction. In order to prove this statement, I undertake firstly the above mentioned reconstruction. Secondly I derive from the latter an original way of thinking the exercise of citizenship in terms of performative contradiction. Thirdly I assess the convenience of this point of view in order to understand radical citizen claims at present. As an example, I analyze the Argentinian demand of legalization of abortion. Insofar as this demand includes in some cases medicamentous abortion, it expresses the exercise of a right that women do not yet possess legally.En el presente artículo se abordan los aportes de Judith Butler en torno al concepto de ciudadanía. Si bien Butler no ha desarrollado una teoría sistemática de la ciudadanía se sostiene que su concepción puede ser reconstruida a partir de su propuesta de ontología social y su interpretación de la contradicción performativa. Para probar esta afirmación, en primer lugar, se realiza dicha reconstrucción. En segundo lugar, se deriva de esta reconstrucción un modo original para pensar el ejercicio de la ciudadanía en los términos de la contradicción performativa. En tercer lugar, se evaluará la conveniencia de este punto de vista para comprender las demandas ciudadanas radicales en la actualidad. Como ejemplo se analizará la demanda de la legalización del aborto en Argentina. En la medida en que esta demanda incluye la realización de abortos medicamentosos, expresa el ejercicio de un derecho que las mujeres aún no poseen legalmente
