    Kabupaten Langkat memiliki benda cagar budaya sebagai atraksi wisata budaya yang terletak di kota Tanjung Pura. Benda cagar budaya tersebut merupakan peninggalan Kesultanan Langkat yang dapat dilihat di kawasan Masjid Azizi. Pembuatan kertas karya ini untuk memperkenalkan benda cagar budaya yang berada di kawasan Masjid Azizi dan menjadikannya sebagai atraksi wisata budaya. Pembuatan kertas karya ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif.     Draft Specific Scoring and Teacher Corrective Feedback: Hearing Learners’ Voice

    One may not comment on the effectiveness of teacher corrective feedback (CF) before first ensuring learners’ attendance. The majority of the studies carried out on teacher CF have mistakenly presupposed learners’ attendance to and noticing of teacher feedback without any attempt to check or ensure them. The present study was an attempt to examine the effect of CF on learners’ writing ability when it is accompanied by Draft Specific Scoring, a technique designed to maximize learners’ motivation to attend to teacher feedback while minimizing the negative effect grading might have on learners’ attention (Azizi, 2013; Nemati & Azizi, 2013). In so doing, 57 intermediate students of English Language Literature at University of Tehran, in the form of two groups with one receiving CF and the other one receiving CF plus Draft-Specific Scoring (DSS), were studied. The results of the Split-plot ANOVA between the two groups’ pretest and posttest indicated that the treatment group could significantly outperform the control group in overall writing proficiency as well as the four components assessed in IELTS writing task 2. In addition, learners’ motivation, attendance, and attitudes were explored into using a questionnaire and a written interview. The participants experiencing DSS reported a high level of motivation and attendance. They also held a very positive attitude toward the technique they had undergone. The results indicate that it is possible to make teacher corrective feedback work if the intervening variables, more particularly motivation, are taken care of

    Ni3S4/NiS/rGO as a promising electrocatalyst for methanol and ethanol electro-oxidation

    We present a one-step hydrothermal synthesis of hybrids consisting of nickel sulfides in the form of Ni3S4-NiS (NN) and Ni3S4–NiS-rGO (NNR), i.e. with the addition of reduced graphene oxide (rGO), for application as catalysts. After accurate physical characterization and confirmation of the successful synthesis, we evaluate the ability of these catalysts in the processes of methanol and ethanol oxidation. The precise electrochemical analyses show relatively good potential and excellent cyclic stability in methanol oxidation reaction and ethanol oxidation reaction processes. The comparison of the two catalysts shows the superiority of NNR over NN confirming that rGO introduces a higher specific surface area and a higher electrical conductivity in the NNR structure. In the process of MOR, NNR has an oxidation peak at a current density of 55 mA cm–2 and a peak potential of 0.54 V. In EOR, this peak is located at a current density of 11 mA cm–2 and at a peak potential of 0.59 V. NNR has 97% and 94% stability in MOR and EOR after 1000 consecutive cycles, respectively which are acceptable values

    In the academic environment, learning Islamic Studies gives rise to various polemics and debates. This research will discuss the thoughts of contemporary Muslim figure about Islamic Studies, Majid Daneshgar in his book "Studying the Qur\u27an in the Muslim Academy." By using descriptive-analytical research methods, the author attempts to explain descriptively what is behind Majid Daneshgar\u27s thoughts on Islamic studies, then the author critically analyzes whether his thoughts are in accordance with the culture of Muslim academic Islamic studies in Indonesia? This research consists of primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from the opinions expressed by Daneshgar in his book "Studying the Qur\u27an in the Muslim Academy," while secondary data was obtained by looking at literature that discussed Majid Daneshgar\u27s thoughts and Islamic Studies. From this research, the author concludes that the tradition of Islamic studies in the academic environment (especially in Indonesia) is not entirely Islamic Apologetics as stated by Majid Daneshgar

    MnCo2O4/NiCo2O4/rGO as a Catalyst Based on Binary Transition Metal Oxide for the Methanol Oxidation Reaction

    The demands for alternative energy have led researchers to find effective electrocatalysts in fuel cells and increase the efficiency of existing materials. This study presents new nanocatalysts based on two binary transition metal oxides (BTMOs) and their hybrid with reduced graphene oxide for methanol oxidation. Characterization of the introduced three-component composite, including cobalt manganese oxide (MnCo2O4), nickel cobalt oxide (NiCo2O4), and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) in the form of MnCo2O4/NiCo2O4/rGO (MNR), was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analyses. The alcohol oxidation capability of MnCo2O4/NiCo2O4 (MN) and MNR was evaluated in the methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) process. The crucial role of rGO in improving the electrocatalytic properties of catalysts stems from its large active surface area and high electrical conductivity. The alcohol oxidation tests of MN and MNR showed an adequate ability to oxidize methanol. The better performance of MNR was due to the synergistic effect of MnCo2O4/NiCo2O4 and rGO. MN and MNR nanocatalysts, with a maximum current density of 14.58 and 24.76 mA/cm2 and overvoltage of 0.6 and 0.58 V, as well as cyclic stability of 98.3% and 99.7% (at optimal methanol concentration/scan rate of 20 mV/S), respectively, can be promising and inexpensive options in the field of efficient nanocatalysts for use in methanol fuel cell anodes

    Motivating the Unmotivated: Making Teacher Corrective Feedback Work

    It is often wrongly assumed that the provision of teacher corrective feedback naturally entails learners' attendance to and application of it, but learners have repeatedly been reported not to pay attention to teacher feedback due to lack of motivation and the distracting effect of the grades they receive. The present study was an attempt to tackle this problem. To do so, the technique named Draft-Specific Scoring (Nemati & Azizi, 2013) was implemented. In DSS, learners receive both teacher feedback and grades on their first drafts; however, they are given up to two opportunities to apply teacher feedback and revise their drafts accordingly. The scores they receive may improve as a result of the quality of revisions they make. Students’ final scores will be the mean score of the grades they receive on the final drafts of each assignment. 57 Iranian intermediate students attending the ‘Advanced Writing’ course at University of Teheran, with an age range of 21 to 27 took part in this study. The gain score analysis and the SPANOVA used showed the superiority of DSS over more traditional methods in improving learners’ overall writing proficiency as well as fluency and accuracy of their written texts. Moreover, no adverse effect was observed for the treatment group regarding the grammatical complexity of their texts. This indicates that in order to make teacher feedback work, there are a number of intervening variables one needs to consider, the most important of which being learners’ motivation to attend to teacher feedback

    Michael Hanekeʼs 2005 film Caché (Hidden) reversed a racialised gaze: the whiteFrench bourgeoisie are watched by an unknown source. The protagonist Georgespresumes, although never proves, that this source is Majid, a character with,presumably, Algerian descent. The author traces what amounts to a racistpresumption by Georges back to his childhood in order to show that Frenchcolonisation created circuits of psychological violence from which Algerians haveno escape, even in contemporary France. Caché therefore makes visible themechanisms which continue to oppress as well as to enact (post)-colonialviolence – psychological and physical – upon Algerians in France. Furthermore,scholars of Caché have criticised the disproportionately low representation ofMajid but largely refrained from analysis of Majidʼs scenes. This article seeks toexpand that scholarship and analyse the access which we are granted into Majidʼsworld. The author highlights that the psychological violence which Majid enduresstems principally from an historical surveillance of Algerians in French society. Sheultimately argues that, while the French are made visible in this film, Majid, and byextension, Algerian immigrants, are made even more so; in other words, Hanekereveals a ‘regard cach./hidden gazeʼ on what is in contemporary France a hypervisibleAlgerian population
