    this study aims to find employee job satisfaction determination comprising maintenance factors and motivational factors. The use of these variables can solve problems that occur on Finance Company in Medan, namely the problem to the satisfaction of work in carrying out the work required by the company. Sample selection is done by non probability sampling and methods of data analysis in this study using logistic regression analysis. The use of these variables can solve problems that occur on Finance Company in Medan, which is a problem for job satisfaction in carrying out the work required by the company. Sample selection is done by non-probability sampling using the method of data analysis in this study is used logistic regression analysis. The results of this study showed that the maintenance factor is partially significant effect on employee job satisfaction while motivational  factors partially not significant effect on employee satisfaction. However, simultaneous maintenance factors and motivational factors have a significant effect on employee job satisfaction.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     In an organization, human resources are very important as the main activator of all activity done to achieve profit or to maintain the viability of the organization. Whether or not an organization is successful in maintaining its existence starts from the attempt to manage its human resources, especially in increasing their work effectiveness and efficiency to maximum. The maximum performance of the employees can be obtained if the company is able to direct and develop the potential owned that the employees can optimally work in achieving organizational goals. The purpose of this quantitative descriptive explanatory survey study was to find out and analyze the influence of work discipline, education and training on the performance of the employees of PT. PLN (Persero) Sumatera I Network Development Main Unit. The population of this study was 196 employees and 132 of them were selected to be the respondents for this study. The data for this study were obtained through documentation study, questionnaire distribution and interviews. The data obtained were analyzed through multiple linear regression tests using SPSS program. The result of this study showed that, simultaneously and partially, work discipline, education and training had a positive and significant influence on the performance of employees and education and training were the dominant variables which had influence on the performance of employees. R Square obtained from this study was 71.1% meaning that work discipline, education and training can only explain as much as 71.1% of the variable of employees’ performance. The remaining 28.9% was explained by the other variables.Sumber daya manusia dalam organisasi sangat penting karena sebagai penggerak utama dari seluruh kegiatan atau aktivitas dalam mencapai tujuan yaitu untuk memperoleh keuntungan maupun untuk mempertahankan kelangsungan hidup organisasi. Berhasil tidaknya suatu organisasi dalam mempertahankan eksistensi organisasi dimulai dari usaha mengelola sumber daya manusia, khususnya dalam meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi kerja secara maksimal. Kinerja yang maksimal dari pegawai dapat diperoleh jika perusahaan mampu mengarahkan dan mengembangkan potensi yang dimiliki sehingga pegawai dapat bekerja secara optimal dalam mencapai tujuan organisasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh disiplin kerja, pendidikan dan pelatihan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Pembangunan Jaringan Sumatera I. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan survey, jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, dan sifat penelitian ini adalah deskriptif eksplanatory. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, daftar pertanyaan dan studi dokumentasi. Populasi pada penelitian ini berjumlah 196 orang. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 132 orang responden. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear berganda dengan menggunakan software SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa disiplin kerja, pendidikan dan pelatihan secara serempak dan parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai, variabel pendidikan dan pelatihan yang dominan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai. Nilai Koefisien Determinasi (R Square) diperoleh dari penelitian ini sebesar 71,1%.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh kinerja lingkungan dan pengungkapan corporate social responsibility terhadap nilai perusahaan dengan Good Corporate Governance sebagai variabel moderating. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di BEI dan mengikuti PROPER tahun 2013-2016 sebesar 149 perusahaan. Dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan purposive samping, maka diperoleh jumlah sampel sebesar 33 perusahaan. Alat analisisnya adalah Moderating Regression Analysis, dimana sebelumnya dilakukan uji asumsi klasik. Berdasarkan pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja lingkungan dan pengungkapan corporate social responsibility berpengaruh positif terhadap nilai perusahaan. Good corporate governance tidak mampu memoderasi hubungan kinerja lingkungan terhadap nilai perusahaan.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
