Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Namun seiring dengan perkembangan jaman teknologi tersebut telah menyebar di berbagai belahan dunia yang bertujuan untuk mempermudah transformasi data dan informasi supaya dinikmati dengan cepat. Alhasil muncul lah teknologi masterpiece dambaan semua golongan, yaitu internet. Nama yang tidak asing lagi di telinga kebanyakan orang. Dengan internet, apapun bisa dilakukan. Sebuah teknologi yang memberikan keleluasan bagi para penggunanya, tanpa batas teritorial, dimana pun, kapan pun bisa mengakses teknologi tersebut. Kenyataanya, teknologi tersebut bisa dimanfaatkan untuk apa saja. Ada dampak positif dan negatif yang ditimbulkan dari teknologi internet. Salah satunya adalah pemanfaatan internet dalam rangka penyelenggaraan PEMILU di Indonesia. Hal tersebut bisa dilihat dari PEMILU 2009 ini, dimana penggunaan internet bisa dimanfaatkan untuk berkampanye secara online. Caleg yang mengerti IT bisa memanfaatkan internet untuk menyapa konstituen mereka serasa di dunia nyata. Barangkali itulah salah satu contoh dimana internet bisa digunakan untuk melakukan kampanye dalam proses PEMILU yang berlangsung. Barangkali itulah adanya proses pengaruh internet terhadap masyarakat yang semakin lama mulai merasakan kelebihan salah satu masterpiece teknologi informasi tersebut
Muhammadiyah's Quest for Knowledge: Strengthening Education Through Faith in Indonesia
No full textThis paper explores Muhammadiyah's commitment to education in Indonesia, focusing on how the organization strengthens educational practices through the integration of Islamic values. Despite global emphasis on inclusive education, there is limited understanding of how religiously affiliated schools, particularly in Islamic contexts, balance doctrinal teachings with the need for inclusivity. This study examines Muhammadiyah's approach to integrating faith with education, highlighting how its schools accommodate diverse student needs while maintaining a strong foundation in Islamic principles. Through qualitative research, including interviews with educators and administrators and analysis of school policies, the paper reveals the strategies Muhammadiyah schools employ to promote an inclusive environment. The findings demonstrate that, while challenges exist in aligning religious teachings with inclusive education, Muhammadiyah has made notable progress in providing access to quality education for all students, regardless of their backgrounds. This study offers valuable insights into how faith-based educational institutions can balance religious values with inclusivity, contributing to the broader discourse on education in religious contexts

Terlebih dengan kehadiran internet, berbagai keunggulannya semakin menambah keunggulan dalam dinamika kehidupan modern. Ratusan juta manusia di seluruh dunia mengakses internet setiap harinya, dan jumlahnya terus bertambah dari waktu ke waktu. Hal ini berdampak pada penggunaan internet untuk kegiatan dakwah.Secara umum dakwah dilaksanakan secara konvensional. Namun, seiring perkembangan teknologi informasi, bermunculan dakwah yang menggunakan internet, yang biasa disebut dengan cyber dakwah. Terkait dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini berupaya untuk melihat keterkaitan keduanya dalam konstruksi keberagamaan, yang karenanya media internet memberikan kemudahan dalam penyebaran informasi kepada masyarakat. Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dengan menggunakan metode field work yang dipadukan dengan studi kepustakaan.Diharapkan penelitian ini akan membuka ruang diskusi baru mengenai studi keislaman kontemporer yang lebih integratif dengan isu-isu kekinian. Selain itu, untuk memperkaya cakrawala terhadap diskursus perkembangan media yang menjadi bagian dari wacana keislaman global dan masyarakat modern. Abtsract: Information and communication technology that has developed at this time has created changes in many things. Especially with the presence of the internet, various advantages have added to the dynamics of modern life. Hundreds of millions of people around the world access the internet every day, and the number continues to increase from time to time. This has an impact on the use of the internet for da'wah activities.In general, preaching is carried out conventionally. However, along with the development of information technology, da'wah has sprung up using the internet, commonly referred to as cyber da'wah. Related to this, this study seeks to see the relationship between the two in religious construction, which is why internet media makes it easy to disseminate information to the public. The type of this study is qualitative, using the field work method combined with library studies.It is hoped that this research will open up new discussion space regarding contemporary Islamic studies that are more integrative with current issues. Popular Piety and the Muslim Middle Class Bourgeoisie in Indonesia
Full text linkThis paper discusses the passion of Islamization of the New Order, at the same time the mainstream of this power is based on economic development that provides opportunities for the growth of the Muslim middle class. Patronage model used by the New Order gives an indication that the power built by this regime wants to instill a strong influence in society. At the same time, the New Order is depoliticizing the political attitudes of Muslims. This has implications for the marginalization of the interests of Muslims on the national stage. In this study will also be affirmed the influence of the New Order's power on the presence of the Muslim middle class. On the one hand their birth was the result of the economic development that the New Order echoed. On a different aspect, the presence of the middle class gives strong legitimacy that they are part of the dominating class structure in a country. Also will be reviewed about middle-class interference with the trend of Islamic populism that actually occurred in the era of the 80s, but re-spread after post-reform. Popular Islamic culture becomes a trend that spread through various media such as, internet, magazines, newspapers and so forth. This has received considerable response from middle-class Muslims and led to commodification. Religion facilitates to interact with modernity. Materialistic and hedonistic interests intersect with obedience in the practice of religion. On the one hand, the mode of consumption of the Muslim middle class changes with the adaptation of piety values in the public sphere
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

No full textEducation is a right for everyone, which can enhance human dignity, therefore Islam advocate it. Accordingly, the actions and activities should be oriented towards the goals set. Thus the true education should be oriented towards the objectives to be achieved, one of which is the education of Islam in public colleges. Islamic education is one of the compulsory subjects and the basis for the development of personality of students. The most important personality of a student is when he was in the act and behaves always underlies the elements of the knowledge of faith, piety and noble character who has known the basis for all kinds of knowledge, skill or expertise. Related to this there are activities organized by the students, known as Propagation Institute Campus, as a vehicle that becomes a resource for students to implement his knowledge of Islam, the institution of propaganda campus can be a vehicle collaborator for Islamic religious education formally in the classroom, which is expected to providing awareness internalization of religious values to students simultaneously. This study uses a critical review of the campus propaganda agencies in order to internalize the values of religion, while the analysis is descriptive-narrative. Therefore, this study is literacy derived from primary documents and secondary, so it is qualitative. Thus this study can serve as a reference for academics / practitioners in order to see the extent to which Islamic religious education can provide internalization of religious values to students
