    Proses menciptakan manusia yang berkualitas tentu tidak lepas dari dunia pendidikan. Karena, pendidikan merupakan salah satu wadah untuk melahirkan generasi yang berkualitas dan mandiri. Sehubungan dengan itu pendidikan merupakan suatu proses kesemestaan pribadi manusia yang komperhensif, kontinyu menuju ke kedewasaan sikap, mental dan kompeten itelektual. Sejalan dengan itu Pendidikan nasional Indonesia bertujuan untuk (1). Mengupayakan perluasan dan pemerataan kesempatan memperolah pendidikan yang bermutu bagi seluruh rayat Indonesia, (2) membantu dan memfasilitasi pengembangan potensi anak bangsa secara utuh sejak usia dini sampai akhir hayat dalam rangka mewujudkan masyarakat belajar, (3) meningkatkan kesiapan masukan dan kualitas proses pendidikan untuk mengoptimalkan pembentukan kepribadian yang bermoral, Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif, karena memusatkan perhatian pada fenomena yang terjadi pada saat ini, dengan berusaha agar membuat deskripsi fonomena yang diselidiki dengan cara mengidentifikasi dan mengklasifikasi fakta atau karakteristik fonomena tersebut secara factual dan cermat. Deskripsi disini berarti melukiskan variable, tanpa menjelaskan hubungan variable yang satu dengan variable yang lainnya (Rahcmat dalam Hadjar, 1996;274). Tujuan utama penelitian deskriptif kualitatif  ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengklasifikasikan Fonomena yang jelas dan akurat tentrang material atau fenomena yang sedang diselidiki. Deskripsi tersebut dapat dilakukan oleh penelitian ini dengan memilah-milah kejadian sehingga dapat digunakan untuk penelitian lebih lanjut (Carpenter, dalam Hadjar, 1996;274)..Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan, yang telah diuraikan dalam bab terdahulu, dalam penelitian ini penulis dapat menyampaikan kesimpulan sebagai berikut  : a. Siswa mengalami kesukaran menggunakan kata baku dalam kalimat, paragraf maupun wacana.  Kesukaran tersebut disebabkan adanya unsur interferensi kosakata tidak baku dari bahasa yang digunakan, b. Hambatan-hambatan yang bersifat kebahasaan di kalangan siswa dalam usaha memahami suatu wacana yang mereka miliki berupa keterbatasan kata baku yang mereka miliki, c. Akibat pemahaman siswa kelas II SMA Negeri 1 Gane Timur terhadap kata baku masih rendah, maka guru-guru mengalami kesulitan ketika mengajarkan materi tentang wacana, d. Minat bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar dikalangan siswa kelas II SMA Negeri 1 Gane Timur kurang dihiraukan. Dengan demikian kebiasaan berbahasa dengan dialek local selalu mendominasi dalam komunikasi baik sesame teman maupun orang lain pada suasana formal maupun tidak forma

    Improving Short Story Reading Text Listening Skills by using the Cooperative Script Learning Model for Class XI Students of SMK Negeri 1 East Halmahera

    The skill of listening to short stories for class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 East Halmahera is still low. This is because students are less interested in learning to listen to short stories and do not understand the intrinsic elements of short stories in depth so that students have difficulty determining the intrinsic elements of short stories. The use of learning models and learning media is less interesting and boring to make students bored. In addition, the teacher has not been intensively guiding students in learning to listen to short stories. The formulation of the research problem is: (1) how is the quality of the learning process of short story listening skills through the Cooperative Script learning model in class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 East Halmahera; (2) how to improve the short story listening skills of class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 East Halmahera after listening to listening through the Cooperative Script learning model; and (3) what are the changes in the learning behavior of class XISMK Negeri 1 East Halmahera in learning short story listening skills through the Cooperative Script learning model. The objectives of this classroom action research were: (1) to describe the quality of the process of learning short story listening skills through the Cooperative Script learning model for class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 East Halmahera; (2) describe the improvement of short story listening skills for class XI SMK Negeri 1 East Halmahera after listening to learning through the Cooperative Script learning model; and (3) describe changes in the learning behavior of class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 East Halmahera in learning listening skills through the Cooperative Script learning model. This study uses a class action research design. This classroom action research was carried out in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this study was the skill of listening to short stories for class XI at SMK Negeri 1 Halmahera Timur

    Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan tentang nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam Analisis Nilai Budaya pada Tarian Lalayon oleh Masyarakat Sagea Weda Utara. Sumber data ini berasal dari peneliti dan akan dihasilkan data primer. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah studi pustaka, observasi, partisipasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai budaya Sumber cerita rakyat, atau ungkapan-ungkapan serta syair-syair tradisional berasal dari orang-orang tua yang sebagian besar telah meninggal, belum tentu mereka mewariskannya kepada anak-cucu. Kenyataan di lapangan membuktikan bahwa ada cerita yang versinya berbeda-beda dalam satu desa.namun perbedaan itu hanya model ceritanya akan tetapi maknanya sama dan dengan perbedaan itu memberikan satu nilai positif untuk tetap menjaga dan memelihara nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam syair-syair yang tersaji. Pada prinsipnya bahwa tarian lalayon dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan ingatan yang masih tertanam dan terus dikembangkan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Hal tersebut dapat diketahui dengan berbagai macam penelitian, baik wawancara maupun data yang bersumber dari referensi yang terpercaya dan fakta. Kekokohan dan keutuhan tarian akan terus terjaga dengan mempertahankannya di setiap Regenerasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tarian tersebut sangat berdampak positif terhadap nilai-nilai budaya, sosial, bahkan lingkungan yang mencerminkan warisan para leluhur atau pendahulu di daerah setempat. Simpulan penelitian ini dapat memberikan ilmu pengetahuan dan informasi untuk tetap menjaga nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam tarian lalayon sebagai salah satu budaya di Maluku Utara dan Indonesia pada umumnya

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui karakteristik masyarakatnya dan perkembangan desa terutama dalam hal pemanfaatan budaya Cokaiba serta menjaga kelestariannya dari pengaruh zaman sehingga budaya coka iba bisa di modifikasi, dengan baik. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan Deskriptif, yaitu dengan cara mengambil data-data pengamatan langsung terhadap lingkungan masyarakat ketika Hajatan Cokaiba itu dilakukan masyarakat, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik Analisi dengan cara data yang diperoleh kemudian diklasifikasikan berdasarkan aspek-aspek yang diteliti sesuai dengan kebutuhan penelitian kemudian menganalisis data penelitian sesuai dengan keadaan yang sebenarnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa di tengah-tengah pengaruh mederenitas dan perkembanagn zaman seperti sekarang ini, Cokaiba, merupakan adat dan kebudayaan, masyarakat Patani yang di laksanakan ketika kelahiran Nabi Muhammad SAW, Lalu sampai saat ini masi tetap ada, pada malam Maulid Nabi itu. sehingga harus dapat mempertahankan nilai yang terkandung didalamnya, karena warisan leluhur ini memiliki makna filosofi yang mendalam sehingga menjadi kekuatan sosial dan eksistensi, roh dari peradaaban masyarakat Patani, budaya unik ini dibawakan oleh sawdagar Arab yang menyiarkan agam Islam di Zazirah, Al-Moluk Ternate dan Tidore, secara pendekatan Historiografis patani berdekat lagsung dengan Tidore sahingga istilah Cokaiba pun berasal dari bahasa Tidore yang artinya bermuka setan. Lalu kemudian budaya ini memiliki makna nilai budaya seni, yang mendalam, di tengah-tengah masyarakat itu, namun seiring dengan perkembangan zaman budaya ini mulai pupus nilainya.The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of the community and the development of the village, especially in terms of utilizing the Cokaiba culture and preserving it from the influence of the times so that the culture of compassion can be modified properly. The method in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach, namely by taking direct observation data on the community environment when the Cokaiba celebration is carried out by the community, interviews, and documentation. Analysis technique by means of the data obtained is then classified based on the aspects studied according to the needs of the research then analyzes the research data according to the actual situation. The results of this study indicate that in the midst of the influence of modernity and the development of times like today, Cokaiba, is a custom and culture, the Patani community which was carried out at the birth of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. so that it must be able to maintain the value contained therein, because this ancestral heritage has a deep philosophical meaning so that it becomes a social force and existence, the spirit of the civilization of the Patani people, this unique culture was brought by the Arab sawdagar who broadcast Islam in the Zazirah, Al-Moluk Ternate and Tidore, in the historiographical approach, patani is closely related to Tidore, so that the term Cokaiba also comes from the Tidore language which means devil-faced. Then then this culture has a profound meaning of artistic cultural value in the midst of that society, but along with the development of this cultural age its value begins to disappear

    Understanding privacy leakage concerns in Facebook: A longitudinal case study

    This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and was awarded by Brunel UniversityThis thesis focuses on examining users’ perceptions of privacy leakage in Facebook – the world’s largest and most popular social network site (SNS). The global popularity of this SNS offers a hugely tempting resource for organisations engaged in online business. The personal data willingly shared between online friends’ networks intuitively appears to be a natural extension of current advertising strategies such as word-of-mouth and viral marketing. Therefore organisations are increasingly adopting innovative ways to exploit the detail-rich personal data of SNS users for business marketing. However, commercial use of such personal information has provoked outrage amongst Facebook users and has radically highlighted the issue of privacy leakage. To date, little is known about how SNS users perceive such leakage of privacy. So a greater understanding of the form and nature of SNS users’ concerns about privacy leakage would contribute to the current literature as well as help to formulate best practice guidelines for organisations. Given the fluid, context-dependent and temporal nature of privacy, a longitudinal case study representing the launch of Facebook’s social Ads programme was conducted to investigate the phenomenon of privacy leakage within its real-life setting. A qualitative user blogs commentary was collected between November 2007 and December 2010 during the two-stage launch of the social Ads programme. Grounded theory data analysis procedures were used to analyse users’ blog postings. The resulting taxonomy shows that business integrity, user control, transparency, data protection breaches, automatic information broadcast and information leak are the core privacy leakage concerns of Facebook users. Privacy leakage concerns suggest three limits, or levels: organisational, user and legal, which provide the basis to understanding the nature and scope of the exploitation of SNS users’ data for commercial purposes. The case study reported herein is novel, as existing empirical research has not identified and analysed privacy leakage concerns of Facebook users

    ABSTRACT This study is entitled "The Method of Learning Morals According to K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and Its Relevance to Moral Learning in Islam Review of Indonesian Language Discourse". The purpose of this study is to find out and understand the concept of morals and the method of learning morals taught by K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, and to explain the relevance between the concept and method to moral learning in Islam. The method used in this study is library research, by collecting data from primary and secondary sources, including books and articles about K.H. Ahmad Dahlan. The results of the study show that K.H. Ahmad Dahlan emphasized the importance of adhering to the Qur'an and Sunnah in everyday life, and used the habituation method in teaching morals to his students. The concept of morals and the method of learning morals according to K.H. Ahmad Dahlan are relevant to the principles of morals in Islam, which shows the harmony between his teachings and broader Islamic values. This research is expected to contribute to the understanding of morals and moral learning methods in the context of Islamic education, as well as adding to the intellectual treasury of K.H. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan (library research), dengan mengumpulkan data dari sumber primer dan sekunder, termasuk buku-buku dan artikel tentang K.H. Ahmad Dahlan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa K.H. Ahmad Dahlan menekankan pentingnya berpedoman pada Al-Qur'an dan Sunnah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, serta menggunakan metode pembiasaan dalam mengajarkan akhlak kepada murid-muridnya. Konsep akhlak dan metode pembelajaran akhlak menurut K.H. Ahmad Dahlan relevan dengan prinsip-prinsip akhlak dalam Islam, yang menunjukkan keselarasan antara ajaran beliau dan nilai-nilai Islam yang lebih luas. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman tentang akhlak dan metode pembelajaran akhlak dalam konteks pendidikan Islam, serta menambah khazanah intelektual mengenai pemikiran K.H.     Liberal theory and Islam: (re)imagining the interaction of religion, law, state and society in Muslim contexts

    Within the global phenomenon of the (re)emergence of religion into issues of public debate, one of the most salient issues confronting contemporary Muslim societies is how to relate the legal and political heritage that developed in pre-modern Islamic polities to the political order of the modern states in which Muslims now live. This study seeks to develop a framework for addressing this issue by drawing upon two sources. The first is an interpretative understanding of the history of Muslim contexts emphasising, in particular, the diversity of views about what Islam mandates that have always been a part of Muslim experience and the distinction between political and religio-legal authority that developed in practice in these environments. The second source is a variety of contemporary liberal theory which this study develops and calls ‘justice as discourse’. The central argument is that liberal theory, and justice as discourse in particular, though it may have emerged in a different social and cultural milieu, can be normatively useful in Muslim contexts for relating, religion, law, state and society. It is argued first, that Muslim contexts are facing issues similar to those out of which liberal theory emerged. Additionally, it is argued that both Muslim contexts and liberal theory are dynamic and continually developing and that this shared dynamism means that there may be space for convergence of the two. Just as Muslim contexts have developed historically (and continue to develop today) the same is the case with the requisites of liberal theory and this may allow for liberal choices to be made in a manner that is not a renunciation of Muslim heritage

    The Business of Piracy in Somalia

    This article argues that it will be difficult, if not impossible, to control Somali piracy for four reasons. First, Somali piracy is a land-based problem and naval control mechanisms are not changing the incentives for pirates. Second, improving Somalia's anarchic political situation will not necessarily stop piracy. Our analysis demonstrates that piracy is a business which improves with a more stable operating environment. Third, piracy is organized criminal activity, and like other organized crime groups will be difficult to control, especially if it becomes embedded in state structures. Finally, we argue that few of the relevant players have any real incentives to alter their behaviour.Piracy, Somalia, Law Enforcement, Organised Crime, EU Atalanta
