Compton Scatter Partial Line Imaging For Non-Intrusive Inspection Of Layered Objects
Get PDFImaging in general can be carried out in three fashions, point-by-point, line-by-line, and plane-by-plane. In inspecting layered object, however, line imaging along the thickness of the inspected object is more preferable. Furthermore, if the region-of-interest inside the object is known in advance, partial imaging is beneficial since it does not require scanning of the whole object. This paper combines the two techniques, hence called as partial line imaging, using Compton scattering. The method is useful for instance in detecting sheet explosives concealed inside passenger\u27s baggage as well as inspecting adhesively bonded metals or composites

One of the methods to analyze nuclear radiation is using. Single Channel Analyzer (SCA). The new models of SCA is in the form of interface card which is connected to the computer by plug it in the computer slot. This kind of card has disadvantages. Its portability level is low and the card take electricity power dirrectly through the host computer, so that the power load of the computer is increased.
To eliminate these disadvantages, in this research has been designed a SCA interface which is connected via PC\u27s printer parallel port. Implementation has been done modularly to determine the performance of the design product.
Tests have been done using pulse generator to simulate pulse outcoming from radiation detection and measurement devices. The result show that the linearity of SCA channels is high, with nonlinearity 0.3%, frequency responses up to 1 Mhz and rise time response of input pulses up to 100 microsecond. The SCA can be operated in 2 modes, window/normal mode and integral mode
Point-by-point partial imaging for non destructive evaluation using radiation scattering technique
Get PDFImaging is very common in non-destructive evaluation of an object. Due to the nature of the method used, conventional imaging is usually performed for the whole object (complete imaging). In many cases, partial imaging is more preferable if the region-of-interest is known in advance. This paper presents the technique for point-by-point partial imaging using photon scattering. The result shows that the method is suitable for visual evaluation of the object by producing partial images representing the internal condition of the object.

El diario de José Balza: un texto en movimiento: escritura y traducción

This transversality is investigated based on translation Studies, Decolonial Thought and Genetic Criticism From this epistemic triangulation, we examine the presence, in the diary, of signs linked to music and visual arts so to determine how the intersemiotic translation movement feeds the poetics of its creation. The theoretical approach to intersemiotic translation is developed in the perspective of Mukarovský (1977), Gorlée (1994, 2010), Plaza (2013) and D Angelo (2016), underlining the conceptual ground of Haroldo de Campos s transcreation (2015), Lambert and Robyns s transdiscursivity criterion (2004), Cluver sinterartistic approach (1997, 2006) and Edouard Glissant s poetics of relation (2002, 2008, 2010). Regarding the analysis of digital manuscript, Genetic Criticism is used to describe the creative processes according to Salles concepts (2006, 2009) in order to demonstrate the sensibility of José Balza s semiotics, considering both its existence in the Venezuelan literary system and its location in the in-betweenspaceof Letters in the Americas. The corpus is analyzed according to the fragments of the diary to reveal how the artist-translator is a transcriber of a visual and sound diversity of the world in an exchange of complementarity and otherness with other sensibilities and thoughts that support his translation of aesthetic imaginaries. The thesis also presents a little known facet of the Caribbean author, his exercises of poetry translation, carried out discreetly in the pages of his diary.Esta tese propõe um olhar transversal sobre o diário (inédito) do escritor venezuelano José Balza (1939). Esta transversalidade é estudada com base em Estudos da Tradução, no Pensamento Decolonial e na Crítica Genética. A partir desta triangulação epistêmica, analisa-se no diário a presença dos signos vinculados com a música e as artes visuais para determinar de que forma o movimento da tradução intersemiótica alimenta a poética de sua criação. A abordagem teórica em relação à tradução intersemiótica é desenvolvida nas perspectivas de Mukarovský (1977), Gorlée (1994; 2010), Plaza (2013) e D'Angelo (2016), destacando o embasamento conceitual da transcriação de Haroldo de campos (2015), o critério de transdiscursividade de Lambert e Robyns (2004), a abordagem interartística de Cluver (1997; 2006) e a poética da relação de Eduard Glissant (2002; 2008; 2010). No que tange a análise do manuscrito digital, é utilizado em primeira instância a Crítica Genética para descrever os processos criativos de acordo com as concepções de Salles (2006, 2009) a fim de demonstrar a sensibilidade da semiótica de José Balza, considerando sua existência no sistema literário venezuelano e sua localização no entre-lugar das Letras nas Américas. O corpus é analisado segundo os fragmentos do diário para revelar o quanto o artista-tradutor é um transcriador de uma diversidade visual e sonora do mundo em um intercâmbio de complementaridade e alteridade com outras sensibilidades e pensamentos que apoiam sua tradução de imaginários estéticos. A tese também apresenta uma faceta pouco conhecida do autor caribenho, seus exercícios de tradução de poesia, cultivados silenciosamente nas páginas de seu diário
