    Dr Farman Fatehpuri (1936 - 2013) is one of the few personalities of our times who have literally enriched our literature with their thoughts and vision. Dr Farman started off with poetry but by the passage of time, he landed his foot in the fields of literary criticism and research. He has left deep foot marks in the areas of poetry, research, criticism, Ghalibiyat, Iqbaliyat, editing, letter writing, commentaries, grammar and composition. I had an experience of exchanging letters with Dr Farman Fatehpuri for fourteen years or so. My current article provides a study of these letters. The first letter was penned on 9th September, 1994 and the last on 12th July 2007. I have preserved these sixteen letters since then. These letters are a reflection of kindness and affection of a renowned author, scholar and teacher with his long distant student.

    Dr. Aslam Ansari was a multi-dimensional literary personality. Along with poetry in Urdu, Persian, English and Saraiki, he has also done insightful work of research and criticism. He has a very high standing among the experts of Iqbal. He has also been closely related to fiction.“Gulbang-e-Arzoo” is a collection of Persian poetry by Dr. Aslam Ansari. It includes five of his fascinating and thought-provoking Masnavis, as well as a valuable Dewan. The great Persian poet Nizami wrote five Masnavis and introduced the tradition of "Khamsa" in literature and many great poets followed him and strengthened this tradition. Dr. Aslam Ansari was the bearer of this tradition in our era. Dr. Aslam Ansari's Persian poetry, like his Urdu poetry, is a masterpiece of thought and art and a treasure of knowledge and wisdom. He has written poetry in many genres, but his nature is particularly fond of Masnavi and Ghazal. After Allama Iqbal, there is no Persian poet like him in Pakistan. He has translated a large part of Allama Iqbal's Urdu works into Persian with great excellence. In this article, an introductory study of his Persian poetry collection "Gulbang-i Arzoo" is presented and his artistic skills are studied

    An epistle is a cardinal source of research. Not only it reveals the personality, disposition, likes and dislikes, customs, habits and attitudes of the addresser and addressee but also throws light on their times and backdrop. This is the reason that the letters of literati are considered a research heritage and the students, scholars and researcher are benefitted from them in their scholarly pursuits. Keeping this aspect in view, in this article, a few unpublished letters of prominent poet and short story writer Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi are being presented. These letters were addressed to famous writer and poet Amin Rahat Chughtai. Many literary and scholarly topics are discussed in these letters and we come to know about the personal and literary relationship of two distinguished writers. The writer has included brief biographical sketch of Amin Rahat Chughtai and added footnotes for a better understanding of the letters

    In respect of literature, Punjab has been a fecund soil. It has played a dynamic role in disseminating Persian literature as it has done in all other languages which has enabled Persian literature to stand on par with Iranian literature. In comparison to Iraqi and Khurasani schools of thought the improvement of Hindi school of thought set in. Punjab plays a vital role in Persian literature. It gave out a spark which enlightened the whole of India with the scope of Persian literature. It is due to Punjab that the value and esteem of Persian literature in India because in the soil of Punjab grew up the towering writers like Naktai Lahori, Abul Farj Rooni Masood Saad Salman from whom the well-known writers like Anwar Zaheer Faryabi got the influence. The favorable clime of Punjab was conducive to the foundations of Persian in such a way that it sprouted and flourished to attain its new heights which was grafted into other languages. However, the actual impression is of Persian which shows its influence on Ghazal and other genres. And its originators are also the literary men in Punjab. The germination of Persian literature in this soil is the telling evidence of its fecundity. Not only did Punjab know the literary importance of Persian but it also made it billow into greatness and acquainted it with new tastes. It amalgamated the culture of Punjab with the civilization of India with such beauty as the turquoise in a ring doubles its grace. In respect of being the fundamental unit Hindustan Punjab is arguably the first center of Persian. In this study, analyzing the contribution of Punjab to Persian literature and Punjab as the first center of Persian literature in India are put forward. &nbsp;</p

    An individual is identified as a unit of society. This individual cannot be separated from the political and social factors affecting the society in any way. Compared to this individual, a writer or a creator whose creative roots are more deeply rooted in social beliefs and ideas, it is impossible for him to be ignorant or indifferent to the factors influencing social values. Literary movements are the means of expression of aesthetic tendencies which play their role in the creation of literature and the promotion of ideas by representing different regions and values. Every literary movement has been involved in the creation of literature with the literary ideas of its era. Writers associated with these movements presented the aims and objectives of the movement in the form of different genres of literature in their works. After the establishment of Pakistan, in view of the political, social and geographical conditions, the writers of Pakistan put forward the idea of ​​Pakistan and Pakistaniness and made these themes part of the creations in the creation of literature, which were considered helpful in the promotion of Pakistaniness. The literary expression of the idea of ​​Pakistani literature or the purpose of propagating Pakistaniness can be seen in poetry and prose genres.
