Abdus Salam : the dream of symmetry
Particle Physics in the XX century and the scientific path of Abdus Salam. In Jhang, a small town in the Punjab, one night a man dreamt that his child was climbing high up on a tree, so high that soon he seemed to disappear into the blue sky. The name of the child was Abdus Salam, that means ’Servant of Peace’, who was going to win in 1979 the Nobel Prize in Physics for his groundbreaking advances in our understanding of the laws of Nature. But not only was he a great scientist, he was also a visionary and humanitarian. With a burning concern, fired by is unhappiness at having to leave his own country for pursuing higher research, Abdus Salam always tried to find ways to make science the common and shared heritage of all mankind.
From a remote village in Pakistan to the prestigious colleges of Cambridge, from the exciting atmosphere of London to the charming seaside of Trieste, where Abdus Salam founded the International Centre for Theoretical Physics. This is the engaging story of his life and, at the same time, the fascinating account of one of the most creative and exciting periods of discovery in the history of physics: the dream of a unified theory of elementary particles and fundamental forces in Nature

Abdus Salam: the dream of symmetry
From a remote village in Pakistan to the prestigious colleges of Cambridge, from the vibrant atmosphere of London to Trieste. The film tells the gripping story of the life of Abdus Salam, great scientist of the twentieth century and Nobel Prize for Physics in 1979, creator of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste. Through the direct testimonies of the great protagonists of the international science, such as the Nobel Prize for Physics David Gross, Gerard 't Hooft, Steven Weinberg, the film retraces the most significant moments of one of the most creative and exciting periods in the history of physics: the dream of a unified theory of elementary particles and fundamental forces of Nature
Abdus Salam, the electroweak forces, ICTP and beyond
A few episodes about Abdus Salam as physicist and friend will be my contribution to the Memorial Meeting for the 90th birthday of a physicist whose life has been devoted to the progress of science the world over
Ideals and realities: selected essays of Abdus Salam
The latest edition of "Ideals and Realities" includes some of the most recent talks given by Professor Abdus Salam. They replace a few essays which were published in the second edition. An attempt has also been made to update some of the figures rendered absolete with the passage of time

PESAN MORAL ISLAMISASI ILMU PENGETAHUAN DAN TEKNOLOGI DALAM PANDANGAN ABDUS SALAM DAN AHMAD BAIQUNI
This study aims to describe the discourse of Islamization of science and technology which was initiated by Abdus Salam and Ahmad Baiquni. This research is qualitative by using exploratory method and content analysis. The results of the research found that the discourse of Islamization initiated by Abdus Salam is trying to develop and conquer technology with the basic principle of monotheism, that all knowledge originates from one substance. Meanwhile, according to Ahmad Baiquni, the Islamization of science is an attempt to refer back to the Qur'an as the source of everything, such as a source for science and technology. The moral message that can be gleaned from the discourse on the Islamization of science developed by Abdus Salam is that the source of knowledge is the One and Only One, namely Allah SWT. The more we dive into the knowledge, the deeper our belief in the Creator should be. Meanwhile, from the discourse of Islamization of knowledge and technology, Ahmad Baiquni can realize that in order to know and develop science and technology, the thing that humans can do is approach the Koran. Because the Koran is the source of knowledge it self
