The concept of equivalence in a socially constructed language in a primary school class.
We analyze two episodes of a teaching experiment involving children of primary school. The children, handling a procedural language they previously constructed, single out equivalence rules. So they construct the concept of equivalence intuiting a semantic equivalence in the language. We adopt a qualitative approach mainly based on observational and ethnographic methods. We present a data analysis regarding how the children, in interaction, co-construct the solutions to the tasks, according to the activity theory and the epistemological triangle

Grażyna Pytlak „Dla karteczki w kieszeni”. Relacja gorzowskiej dziennikarki prasy drugiego obiegu
In her relation Grażyna Pytlak recounts how she got engaged in opposition activities. Already in 1976 she started cooperation with the Workers’ Defence Committee, the result of which was, among others, the distribution of illegal books and press in Gorzów. Moreover, Grażyna Pytlak took part in the meetings of Academic Chaplaincy organized by Rev. Witold Andrzejewski. Simultaneously with the creation of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union ‘Solidarity’ she started working in union press, including most importantly ‘Solidarność Gorzowska’, where she fulfilled a function of editor-in-chief. On December 13, 1981 she was interned. After being released in March 1982, not paying attention to her poor health, she renewed contacts with underground structures of ‘Solidarity’. She continued to write for the underground press. Her texts were published, among others, in the periodical of the Regional Executive Commission entitled ‘Feniks’. However, she was not limiting herself to opposition circles in Gorzów. She was in contact with Jerzy Giedroyc’ Literary Institute ‘Kultura’ in Maisons-Laffitte. She was also meeting people connected to ‘Tygodnik Powszechny’. Her opposition activities came at a price of ruined health as well as numerous frisks. Although she often wondered if it is worth putting herself and her loved ones at risk, she never hesitated. She has become for many the symbol of the underground press in Gorzów as well as the whole Gorzów opposition.</jats:p
First graders' geometrical speech. The slanting giraffe's neck
This paper analyses pupils’ locutions for detecting in their speech the implicit recognition of geometrical relations between segments (‘parallelism’ and ‘perpendicularity’). By means of a social-constructive approach, we leave the pupils free to decide how to describe artefacts through their spontaneous language
How to compare surfaces?
The paper presents the analysis of an experimental activity, based on the inquiry model, realised with 9-10 years old pupils. The experiment consists of three main phases: 1) submission of a worksheet, 2) individual interviews, 3) communication in class. The worksheet introduces the problem of the equivalence of figures with respect to their surfaces, in a context of ‘fences and sheep’. The pupil is asked to verify and to check his answers in a personal interview. The final discussion in the classroom plays a fundamental role in the experiment. The research reports a qualitative analysis of the results, with particular attention given to difficulties and misconceptions that emerged on the topic
V pokrajnite na literaturnoto pole : komentar v''rhu "Bibliografiâta na prevodi na b''lgarskata literatura v Polša prez 2014 g."
The paper is a comment on the Bibliography of literary translations form Bulgarian to Polish in 2014. Author of this article focuses on two translations that may me consider as completed - book with short stories "Lomski razkazi" (Lom stories) by Emil Andreev and selection "Antologia literatury bułgarskiej w przekładzie Hanny Karpińskiej" (Anthology of Bulgarian Literature in translation of Hanna Karpinska). The analysis uses the concept of field and actors/institutions in the literary field by the French sociologist, Pierre Bourdieu. The analysis tries to reveal mechanisms beyond the translation process - decision on what is translated (author and piece), cooperation with publishers, but also official cultural policy of Bulgaria. It also shows differences between book and magazine publications in the context of literary filed (in. al. reading audience, literary prizes)
Analyzing the proving activity of a group of three students
We present an analysis and outline an evaluation of the proving activity of a group of three university level students when solving a geometrical problem whose solution required the formulation of a conjecture and its justification within a specific theoretical system. To carry out the analysis, we used the model presented by Boero, Douek, Morselli and Pedemonte (2010) that centers on the arguments and rational behavior. Our analysis indicates that the student‘s proving activity is close to the one we used as a reference
Phantom Pains: The Image of Bulgarian Transition in Elena Aleksieva’s Dramas
Phantom Pains: The Image of Bulgarian Transition in Elena Aleksieva’s Dramas
The article analyzes Elena Aleksieva’s dramas in the books Ангелски огън [Angel fire, 2014] and Жертви на любовта [Victims of love, 2015] in the context of the social changes in Bulgaria after 1989. Although this Bulgarian author does not write about the transition itself, the picture of the time created by her plays is very clear and representative. In the article, I focus on elements that serve to create this picture, such as freedom, women and their role in the new society, social stratification and art (particularly theatre).
Bóle fantomowe. Obraz bułgarskiej tranzycji w dramatach Eleny Aleksijewej
The article analyzes the metaphor of the Black Sea in three contemporary Bulgarian movies – Hunting down small predators (dir. Tsvetodar Markov, 2010), Sneakers (dir. Ivan Vladimirov, Valeri Jordanov, 2011) and The Sinking of Sozopol (dir. Kostadin Bonev, 2014). The author of the thesis aims to answer the question about the origin of the symbolic meaning of the space and its connection with experiencing of freedom. The analysis focuses on two aspects of freedom – symbolic and generational. The article analyzes the metaphor of the Black Sea in three contemporary Bulgarian movies – Hunting down small predators (dir. Polish Women Translators Outside the Canon. On a Forgotten Translation of Dostoyevsky’s The Devils
In 1928, two translations of Dostoevsky’s The Devils were published: one by Tadeusz Zagórski, another by an unknown woman signed as J.B. This article analyses both translations to understand why Zagórski’s version has become canonical. It seems that the main reasons for the privileged status of Zagórski’s translation are, on the one hand, its publisher’s strong position, and on the other – the visual aspect of the J.B. version. The J.B. edition was illustrated: the drawings depict the female characters of the novel. The illustrated plates present also excerpts selected from the novel, which are frequently amorous in tone. Most probably because of its distinctly feminine look, the J.B. translation of The Devils was superseded by Zagórski’s version
