Disagreement plots and the intraclass correlation in agreement studies
Although disagreement and the intraclass correlation have been covered previously, several variants of both have been proposed. This chapter introduces readers to several variants of the disagreement plot and the classification of the intraclass correlation coefficient and the concept of repeatability in agreement studies
Makiko Doi Video Interview
Makiko Doi talks about her life growing up and coming to America from Japan at the age of 20 in 1951. She worked in the library as she got her undergraduate degree at University of the Pacific in California. She met her husband there and then went to San Jose State for library school. She later had a long career at central wokring in the periodicles department.

koamabayili/VECTRON-author-checklist: VECTRON author checklist
We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
Author Co-Citation Analysis (ACA): a powerful tool for representing implicit knowledge of scholar knowledge workers
In the last decade, knowledge has emerged as one of the most important and valuable organizational assets. Gradually this importance caused to emergence of new discipline entitled ―knowledge management‖. However one of the major challenges of knowledge management is conversion implicit or tacit knowledge to explicit knowledge. Thus Making knowledge visible so that it can be better accessed, discussed, valued or generally managed is a long-standing objective in knowledge management. Accordingly in this paper author co- citation analysis (ACA) will be proposed as an efficient technique of knowledge visualization in academia (Scholar knowledge workers)
Digital Object Identifier (DOI) – a must know for every author of scholarly publications.
In the academia it is “publish or perish”. At some stage, the number of international publications also counts. It may however sound ridiculous that referencing may hinder an author from being able to publish in some international journals. This is because such international journals request for the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) of references cited by authors. Regrettably, most authors have never heard about DOI before, let alone being familiar with it. DOI is a standard numbering system like ISBN/ISSN. It is a unique code preferred by publishers in the identification and exchange of the content of a digital object such as journal articles, web documents, or other intellectual property. This article is an eye opener to the features and benefits of DOI, anatomy of a DOI name, citing DOI in references and locating DOI of references.Key words: Digital object identifier (DOI), authors, referencing

Improved Prediction of the Indian Ocean Dipole Mode by Use of Subsurface Ocean Observations
The numerical seasonal prediction system using the Scale Interaction Experiment-Frontier version 1 (SINTEX-F) ocean-atmosphere coupled model has so far demonstrated a good performance for prediction of the Indian Ocean dipole mode (IOD) despite the fact that the system adopts a relatively simple initialization scheme based on nudging only the sea surface temperature (SST). However, it is to be expected that the system is not sufficient to capture in detail the subsurface oceanic precondition. Therefore, the authors have introduced a new three-dimensional variational ocean data assimilation (3DVAR) method that takes three-dimensional observed ocean temperature and salinity into account. Since the new system has successfully improved IOD predictions, the present study is showing that the ocean observational efforts in the tropical Indian Ocean are decisive for improvement of the IOD predictions and may have a large impact on important socioeconomic activities, particularly in the Indian Ocean rim countries
