Bentuk Reciprocity Dalam Produksi Berita Kriminal (Kajian Kriminologi Budaya Terhadap Redaksi Pos Kota)
In the process of news production, there’s a reciprocity aspect between journalists andnews resource that determine how the news will be reproduced and represented. Culturalcriminology criticizes the construction form of a news, the focus raised in this paper is thereciprocity aspect that mutually benefits both parties between the criminal journalist andthe police institution. The police will always provide information, facilitate access, andnews material to criminal journalists, the police are the ones who dominate the informationand sources of crime news. Conversely, criminal journalists tend to framing with a positiveimage (good police) against the main source, the police institution. This paper analyzes thereciprocity aspect of mass media editorial of Pos Kota online. The result of the analysis showsthat reporting of criminal journalist of Pos Kota online tends to reproduce and representpositive image of police institution (good police) repeatedly and with certain pattern to keeppositive image remain present positively. Therefore, the reciprocity relationship betweenjournalist and its news source has an effect on how a mass media doing framing
UPAYA PENCEGAHAN KEJAHATAN TERPADU TERHADAP PELANGGARAN DAERAH PENANGKAPAN IKAN
This article discusses about the community involvement in the efforts to prevent fishingground violations and conflict prevention efforts as a form of integrated crime preventionin Indonesia. Fishing ground violation, as an act of illegal fishing, occurs due to high fishdemand that is accompanied by limited resources of state institutions to oversight andthe presence of corrupt officers in prosecution stage. Conflicts among fishermen emergedas the consequences. There is a research in criminology studies in Indonesia previouslydiscussed about community involvement in the prevention of destructive fishing. While thispaper discusses it in the context of fishing ground violation. Community involvement in thesurveillance of Indonesian fishery activities is implemented through the establishment of aPublic Oversight System that has been regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of MarineAffairs and Fisheries. The goal is to overcome the lack of official agencies in conductingsurveillance in the field. This paper seeks to explain the motivation of community involvementusing the theory of social exchange. Providing recommendations on the passage of communityinvolvement in the prevention of violations of fishing grounds will also be discussed in this paper
Implementasi Kemitraan dalam Pemolisian Komunitas untuk Pencegahan Praktik Destructive Fishing (Studi Kasus Perairan Laut Maluku Utara)
This study focuses on the issue of partnership implementation on community policing which is faced by Directorate Marine Police of Maluku Utara (Ditpolairda Maluku Utara) with community and other agencies in order to prevent destructive fishing. The discussion of this issue is analyzed by social exchange theory and integrated crime prevention. The author uses qualitative approach with descriptive purpose. The result shows that partnership encounters several problems which are associated with self-interest issue and the lack of personnel, facilities, and infrastructure. Therefore, every agent in partnership should be integrated to form an effective and efficient destructive fishing prevention
PERBUDAKAN TERHADAP ANAK BUAH KAPAL PENANGKAP IKAN ASING DI INDONESIA
This article focusses on slavery and its association with human smuggling, humantrafficking, and IUU fishing that happens in Benjina, Indonesia. The author found that theproblem started from high fishing potential resulting in high demand for fish. However, thehigh demand for fish is not followed by the supply of fish and the weak supervision in thefield of fisheries contributes to the IUU fishing practices. Such practices also lead to theemergence of demand for low-cost labor to help meet the high demand for fish. The workersis particularly vulnerable to slavery, human trafficking, and human smuggling because ofeconomic demands and lack of education. Slavery, human trafficking, and human smugglingare also associated with transnational organized crime and act that violates human rights.The author in this article uses library research as a writing method. The writing shows thatthe practice of slavery, human trafficking, and human smuggling caused the crew of foreignfishing vessels to be victims of those crime, conducted by the normal, rational, and profitoriented, and the violations of human rights are perpetuated by low-cost labor demand

“Be careful you know, it’s not safe out there lately”. Such sentences are often heard lately in urban societies. In big cities in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Medan and Surabaya more and more crimes occurred every day not only in terms of quantity but also offenders’ characteristics (male and female, adults and children), methods, and motivations. Particular legal sentences demonstrate that there is fear of crime in society. Such fear makes people experience victimization not only for their sacrifice but also the opportunity cost of other things. That is people need more efforts and cost to “buy” some sort of secure feeling. Starting from building the high-iron-fence outside the house, using secured window for the house, up to using the security services (bodyguard). People have become unsafe to do their activities outside the house, especially at night. Ironically, while people are locked in their house, the criminals are free to ramble. Why does it happen? Fish consumption has become the primary choice by the people; therefore, the demand for fish has increased. Potential fish resources thus become a main source for fishing industry. The category of fishing activities became various in order to provide the demand, including illegal fishing. One of the illegal fishing methods in this study is a trawl. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the activities of illegal fishing in the waters of Bangka Belitung island. The research uses qualitative approach with descriptive type. Representasi Transgender dan Transeksual dalam Pemberitaan di Media Massa: Sebuah Tinjauan Analisis Wacana Kritis
This undergraduate thesis discusses the representation of transgender and transsexual over the mass media headline which is Pos Kota, both printed and online version of the news from 2012 to 2013. local News articles of Pos Kota mass media through the years of 2012 and 2013 are the research subjects. This research uses qualitative method, which is discourse analysis, to analyze the news representation. Such method, refer to Michel Foucault as this undergraduate thesis also uses Michel Foucault theory about power and sexuality. The research found that transgender and transsexual news comprise transphobia in its content, containing prejudice and stereotype, as well as showing hate crime towards transgender and transsexual. That could have happened by the cause of the power that classify person particularly based on their sex orientation so the transgender and transsexual who is different than those two sex (men and women) considered as a diseased individual, for not adjusting themselves to their natural sex orientation

Pembalakan Liar (Studi Tentang Pola Jaringan Pembalakan Liar di Taman Nasional Bukit Barisan Selatan (TNBBS) Kabupaten Lampung Barat)
Generally, the definition of illegal logging is all activity of logging, purchasing, or log trading without legal permission. Practically, illegal logging is conducted by logging in the area where it basically is prohibited to do such activity, but it becomes legal and perceives as collusion under the permission of local Official Illegal logging is illicitly committed by a criminal network the method used in this research is qualitative. Unstructured interviews and literature studies are used to complete the data. The result of this research shows that despite of the regulation pertaining to illegal logging activity, practically, the illegal activity still occurs in Indonesia with a certain pattern to avoid law administration. It is perceptible to conclude that illegal logging activity in Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park or Taman Nasional Bukit Barisan (TNBBS) is the embody of organized crime involving clandestine network that causes complicated law enforcement for such crime to prevail
