Malaria is an infectious disease caused by the Plasmodium through the bite of Anopheles sp. After the tsunami in 2004, Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh suffered various environmental changes. Environmental is one of supporting factors for high number of malaria incidences. Indicators of the increasing incidence of malaria is the increase in the value of AMI (Annual Malaria Incidence). In 2004, the value of AMI in Aceh Besar district reached 11.74 0/00 and increased to 26.34 0/00 in 2015. Vector control is one of malaria control programs. To support the program , it had been conducted a survey of Anopheles (by collecting larvae) as the potential vector. This was was a descriptive study which was conducted in 16 sampling points in Aceh Besar district, from February to October 2007. The results showed mean value of vector breeding pH was 7.8. The aquatic vegetation in larval breeding habitat were Spirogyra sp, Limnocharis flava, Ipomoea aquatica, Ipomoea pes-caprae), and Oriza sativa. Species of Anopheles sp found were Anopheles sundaicus, Anopheles vagus, Anopheles barbirostris, Anopheles kochi, Anopheles maculatus, and Anopheles tesselatus

Study of condition of elephant care using 18 variable that refers to the five principles of animal welfare shoppers. This data is used in applicable data primary and secondary data. Primary data collected through triangulation: participatory observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The data obtained is then compiled using the Likert scale took place applies appropriate answer (score 3), lack of appropriate (score 2), and is not appropriate (score 1). Data analysis techniques using Model Miles and Huberman. The condition of the caregiving Sumatran Elephant (Elephas maximus sumatranus) in PKG Saree, Aceh Besar including appropriate categories (43-54) with the level of prosperity in an environment of domestication with a score is 4

Perception of local community in surrounding of human-elephant conflict area to elephant conservation and their habitat in sub-district of Lembah Seulawah, Aceh Besar

Sumatran Elephant (Elephas maximus sumatranus) is one of Indonesia's biodiversity. This animal classified in endangered species. Habitat loss, degradation, habitat fragmentation and exploitation of resources due to human activities lead to the unavailability of habitat for wildlife. Fragmentation of wildlife habitat frequently cause loss of natural habitat. The purpose of this research are (1) to describe the Sumatran Elephant habitat disturbance, (2) to determine the extent of damage caused by the Sumatran Elephant and (3) to determine the local community perception sorrounding of human-elephant conflict area on the conservation of elephants and their habitats in Lembah Seulawah, Aceh Besar. Collecting data used descriptive research with quantitative approach and proportional sampling tehnique. The study was conducted in Lembah Seulawah, Aceh Besar in May 2016. The data collected using field survey, questionnaire and deep interview. Research data showed in descriptive and percentage. Analysis of the level of damage to the quality scale, and analysis of local community of perceptions using chi-square. The results of the study are (1) Disturbance plantation community in Lembah Seulawah between 0.5% - 2%, (2) Damage to habitat in Gampong Panca and Gampong Teuladan medium category, while Gampong Lamkubu is in lightweight category and (3) the public perception was good (X2count X2table, 35.54 16.9) and support to cponserve of sumatran elephant and their habitat

This research is a classroom action research, consist of stages: Planning, Implementation, Observation and Reflection. The topics are: Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the first cycle, Living Thing and Non Living Thing Component in the second cycle, and the Electric Energy Crisis in the third cycle. Instruments used are questions and observation sheets critical thinking and observation sheets of implementation of PBL model with mind map. The results showed the implementation of syntax PBL models with mind map has been good, and the average test results show an increase and most of students achieve very good in critical thinking. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of PBL models with mind map managed to improve students' critical thinking

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to determine the effect of the implementation of Discovery Learning models towards learning outcome of XI-IPA1 students, on the respiratory system subject matter at SMA Unggul Sigli. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consist of four phases: planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects were XI IPA 1 students school year 2014/2015, which is amounted to 25 people, consisting of 10 male students and 20 female students. Data analysis was performed with a descriptive quantitative technique. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes in the respiratory system materials. Improving student learning outcomes from a base score for cycle 1 and cycle II is also changing. Average activity of in the first cycle is equal to 22.67%, then increased to 75.32% in the second cycle. Classical learning achievement has exceeded 85% in the second cycle. This condition shows the results of student learning has high categor

This study was aimed to determine the effect of the methanol extract against bacteria Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and to measure its inhibition capacity. Phytochemical test and extraction were conducted at the Research Laboratory of Chemistry Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA). Antibacterial test was done at the Laboratory of Microbiology Department of Biological Science, University of Syiah Kuala. The samples used leaves of H. rosa-sinensis collected from Gampong Sektor Timur, Darussalam. This study used completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatements and three replications namely; negative control using the solvent, extract test with concentrations 0.2 g / mL, 0.3 g / mL, 0.4 g / mL, and positive control using 30 g linezolid. Phytochemical test showed that the fresh samples contain alkaloids, terpenoids, steroids, and flavonoids, while the methanol extract contains alkaloids and flavonoids. Antibacterial test showed that the methanol extract have inhibited MRSA bacterial growth, with the average of inhibition zone was 15.90 mm at the concentration of 0.4 g / mL
