Transaction Cost Analysis on Revenues and Profits of Red Chili Farming
This research aimed to analyze the transaction cost structure and the effect of transaction costs on the revenue and profit of red chili farming. The analytical methods used were Transaction Cost Economic (TCE) analysis and multiple regression analysis. This research was conducted in Garut Regency, West Java, on 145 farm households. The research results showed that the highest percentage of transaction cost components was at implementation costs of 25.1 percent, followed by information search costs of 23.1 percent and negotiation costs of 22.3 percent. The number of transaction costs formed in red chili farming was IDR 3,990 727.74 per year. The ratio of transaction costs to total costs was 0.0285. This indicated that farmers had to issue 2.85 percent of the total costs for transaction costs. In addition, the percentages of transaction costs for revenue and profit of red chili farming were 4.65 and 5.27 percent respectively. The results also showed that five variables had significant effects on the benefits of red chili farming. The five variables included the price of chili seeds, manure, insecticides, labor wages, and transaction costs
DYNAMIC SYSTEM MODEL OF RICE SELF SUFFICIENCY TOWARDS FOOD SECURITY
Food security is the condition of fulfilling individual food that is sufficient, safe, equitable and affordable. The main target of fulfilling food sufficiency is dominated by rice self-sufficiency. Rice self-sufficiency is important because it has special reasons in terms of politics and social economy. The sustainability of rice self-sufficiency faces many challenges because domestic rice supply growth is not as fast as rice use. The purpose of this study is to simulate the scenario of achieving self-sufficiency in rice and formulating policy recommendations for developing management to achieve self-sufficiency in rice. Research data includes primary and secondary data. This research uses a dynamic system approach. Simulations carried out from 2018-2045. The simulated policy is intensification, extensification, suppression of postharvest losses and Indonesia a self-sufficiency country as well as an exporter of rice (scenario five), but the policy requires a very large budget. Scenario six, a combination of intensification, suppression of postharvest losses and land conversion becomes an alternative operational policy and is most likely to be applied. Land conversion is the biggest determinant in rice self-sufficiency. Recommendations address for the government include: (1) establish and protect longterm rice fields, (2) identify and map of areas that have the potential for the development of a periodic expansion of food crops; (3) guarantee the availability of agricultural facilities and infrastructure in accordance with the selected policy, both in the form of the application of scenario six and scenario five.

The Strategy for Improvement of "Enting Geti" Quality in Production Process with Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process in Blitar Regency, East Java
SMEs of peanut snack “Enting geti” in Blitar Regency is divided into several clusters based on performance and product quality. The center of Enting geti SMEs is in Rejowinangun village, Blitar Regency, East Java. The main problem in SMEs is the diversity of production process between SMEs and unstandardized formulas such as inconsistencies in quality. This study aimed at determining the best formula of Enting geti based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and determining the quality improvement strategy of production process. This research used 2 methods of the consumer acceptance test (organoleptic test) analyzed with the Effectiveness Index and laboratory test with Multiple Attribute. The improved production process was on caramelization process and reduction of wijen composition. The treatments used were the cooking temperature of 75±2ºC and 85±2ºC. The results based on acceptance test and laboratory test showed that the second treatment (temperature 85±2ºC with 10% wijen reduction) was the best treatment. The priority of determining the strategy with Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process found that the best strategy in the production process variable with an alternative strategy is to establish a partnership that can be done by building cooperation with several fixed suppliers and by improving the flow of information
The Interdependence of Indonesia Coffee Futures and Spot Market and Its Relationship with Offshore Futures Market
In the Indonesia coffee premature market, it is important to confirm whether the futures market has interdependence with the spot market. Moreover, as the world’s largest coffee producers after Brazil, Vietnam, and Colombia, it is also important to examine the interdependence between Indonesia markets with the offshore futures market whose prices are used uses for local price determination. This study examined the granger causality relationship between Indonesia’s futures and spot market, and granger relationship between Indonesia and the offshore futures market using data of daily Arabica and Robusta coffee prices starting from January 2014 to June 2018. The test indicated that the futures market has a stronger ability to predict the spot market; therefore, price discovery in the futures market. Bidirectional causality relationship between Arabica offshore futures and spot market indicates market demand on Arabica coffee. In general, it’s identified unidirectional granger causality relationship between local and offshore futures market with information flows from the local futures market reflects the offshore market high expectation toward crop information during harvesting period both Arabica and Robusta. This is due to the importance of Indonesia’s coffee crop report to world aggregate coffee production
The Export Performance of Indonesia’s Palm Oil in International Market
This study aims to analyze the performance of Indonesian exports to export destination countries in the international market. The subjects of this study are two Indonesian palm oil commodities: crude palm oil or CPO and processed palm oil or OPO (Other Palm Oil). There are four Indonesian palm oil markets in the international market, namely the Asian market, the European market, the African market, the American market, and the Australian market. The data used in this study is a time series from 1991 to 2016 and analyzed using the CMS (Constant Market Share) method. The CMS method explains the export growth performance in several components, which are the standard growth effect, the effect of product composition, the effect of market distribution, and the effect of competitiveness. The results showed that the performance of Indonesian CPO exports in the period 1991-2016 tended to decline compared to the growth of exports of all world products. Indonesian CPO is more competitive in the Asian market than the European market. The dynamics of Indonesian CPO exports in the African, American and Australian markets are quite good, but these three markets have not become the main destinations for Indonesian CPO exports. Indonesia\u27s OPO export performance in the 1991-2016 period tended to increase compared to the growth in exports of all world products. Indonesian OPO in the Asian and African markets is more competitive than the European market. The dynamics of Indonesia\u27s OPO exports on the American market and the Australian market are quite good, but these two markets have not become the main destinations for Indonesia\u27s OPO market. Thus, Indonesia can maximize the performance of OPO exports when there is a rejection of Indonesian OPO in the international market. Keywords: CPO, constant market share (CMS), export, palm oil, performanc

THE EFFECT OF BOND CHARACTERISTICS, FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE AND MACRO VARIABLES ON RETURN OF CORPORATE BOND IN THE AGRIBUSINESS SECTOR
There are several reasons why companies choose to issue bonds rather than borrowing from banks. Interest paid by companies to bond investors is often lower than the interest rate charged by the bank, but still at least bond issuance from the agricultural sub-sector and chooses to lend to the bank. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of bond characteristics, financial performance and macroeconomic return on corporate bonds in the agribusiness sector. This study uses a panel data regression method consisting of 12 bonds with the vulnerable time between 2014-2015 \quarterly. Based on the panel data model shows that the characteristics of bonds (yield to maturity, coupon, rank, and duration), financial performance (CFOS) and macroeconomics (IHSG) have a significant effect on the return of bonds. The Company should consider the amount of bond yield and coupon to be issued and pay attention to financial performance, especially cash flow and capital expenditure (capital expenditure).
