Hubungan Tipe Kepribadian dengan Perilaku Seksual Berisiko Remaja di SMKN “X†Jember (The Correlation of Personality Type with Risk Sexual Behavior of Adolescence at SMKN "X" Jember)
Adolescent is a period of transition from child to adult. Change of adolescent is sign with thesexual organs. Adolescent not only identified the physical changes, but also the psychological.One of that is risk sexual behavior in adolescent, Risk behavior sexual can bring consequencesthat unwanted abortion, pregnancy outside of marriage, of contracting sexually transmitteddiseases (STDs), and HIV / AIDS. One of the factors that influence adolescent sexual behavioris personality which consists of extrovert and introvert. The purpose of this research was todetermine the correlation of personality types with risk adolescent sexual behavior. Thisresearch design was a descriptive analytic study using cross-sectional approach. The samplesare 68 respondents,Sampling technique used multistage random sampling. The instrumentused a questionnaire sheet. Analysis of bivariate data used chi square test showed that thevalue of Ï value = 0.001 (<α=0.05) and odd ratio (OR) = 7,556, so it can be concluded thatthere is a correlation between personality type with risk sexual behavior of adolescence atSMKN "X" Jember. Uji Aktivitas Antimalaria Ekstrak Kering DaunTithonia diversifolia pada Mencit yang Diinfeksi Plasmodium berghei (Antimalarial Activity of Dry Extract of Tithonia diversifolia Leaves on Plasmodium berghei Infected Mice)
Malaria is an infectious disease caused by Plasmodium sp. One of the herbs that are empirically used as an antimalarial is Tithonia diversifolia. Preparation of dried leaf extract of T. diversifolia used oven drying and the addition of cab-o-sil as a dryer. This study aims to determine the antimalarial activity of extracts of dried leaves of T. diversifolia. Antimalarial activity assay method used was a modified peter test. The probit analysis of this study showed that ED50 value on mice given the dry extract of T. diversifolia leaves was 214 mg /kg body weight and categorized as good at classifying antiplasmodium in vivo. Komplikasi pada Pasien Fraktur Klavikula Pasca Penatalaksanaan Operatif di RS Bina Sehat Jember periode 2007-2012
The prevalence of clavicle fracture is 5 % out of all fractrues. The most common cause of clavicle fracture is shoulder trauma due to an accident because of a fall or a traffic accident, but sometime non traumatic factor can cause clavicle fracture. Management of clavicle fracture is operative or non-operative treatment, both has a possible complications. The study aimed to find out the complication of clavicle fracture after operative treatment, compared to its contralateral. This was an analytical survey study, using saturated sampling system. There were 16 samples according to the inclusion criteria. The result revealed that a comparison of the ROM value, muscle strength, shortened-bone, and muscle atrophy were p>0.05 meaning no significant difference between 2 groups. A compariosn of NRS value, touch sensation, and deformity were p<0.05 meaning there is a significant difference between 2 groups. It can be concluded that in post clavicle fracture patient treated with operative therapy there was no complication on shoulder joint ROM, shoulder muscle strength, shortened-bone, and muscle atrophy, but a complication can be found on NRS clinical examination, touch sensation and deformity. Peranan Ekstrak Bangle (Zingiber cassumunar Roxb.) terhadap Produksi Nitric Oxide dan Malondialdehyde pada Mencit yang Diinfeksi Plasmodium berghei
Isolasi rimpang Bangle menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kandungan bioaktif yaitu kurkumin dalam rimpang Bangle. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran ekstrak Bangle terhadap produksi Nitric Oxide dan Malondialdehyde pada mencit yang diinfeksi Plasmodium berghei. Jenis dari penelitian ini adalah quasy experimental, dengan post test only control group design. Sebanyak 30 ekor mencit dibagi ke dalam 5 kelompok, masing-masing terdiri dari 6 mencit. Pemberian ekstak Bangle diberikan selama 14 hari dengan tujuan sebagai imunostimulan. Kontrol negatif diberikan aquadest, kontrol positif diinfeksi dengan Plasmodium berghei. Kelompok perlakuan1(P1) distimulasi Bangle. Kelompok perlakuan2(P2) distimulasi Bangle diterapi Artemisinin sedangkan kelompok perlakuan3(P3) diterapi Artemisinin. Terapi diberikan selama 4 hari apabila Plasmodium telah ditemukan dalam darah. Data hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara produksi NO serum P1 dan P2 dengan kontrol positif. Sedangkan produksi MDA serum tidak menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang bermakna antarkelompok, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak Bangle mampu meningkatkan produksi NO serum namun tidak berperan terhadap produksi MDA serum. Efektivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Daun Sirih Merah (Piper Crocatum) dan Sirih Hijau (Piper Betle L.) sebagai Bahan Alternatif Irigasi Saluran Akar (The Efectiveness of Red Piper Betle (Piper Crocatum) Leaf and Green Piper Betle (Piper Bettle L) Leaf Extract
Background: Root canal irrigation is one, of important in endodonti treatment because if ignored can lead to failure. 3% Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is one of irrigation solution is often used. To reduce the effects of toxicity of root canal irrigation, it can be used for alternative materials canal irrigation are safe to use. One is piper betle plant. Based on previous research phytochemical test, the piper betle leaf has anti-bacterial effect. Purpose: This study aimed to determine the antibacterial effect, difference antibacterial effect and effectiveness of red piper betle leaf extract and green piper betle leaf compared with 3% H2O2 solution to Streptococcus viridans. Methods: This study is an experimental laboratory with research design post only control design. This study uses pitting. Each petridish divided into 6 holes, spilled A 3% H2O2, B sterile distilled water, C 50% red piper betle leaf extract, D 50% green piper betle leaf extract, E 100% leaf extract a red piper betle and F 100% green piper betle leaf extract. All incubated for 24 hours at 37 ° C and the inhibition zone diameter measured. Results: The results showed significant difference between the extracts of green and red piper betle. Statistical test with Mann Whitney test showed a significant difference between each group except 3% H2O2 and 50% green piper betle extract. Conclusions and Recommendations: Conclusions from this research are green piper betle leaf extract and red piper betle leaf extract can inhibit the growth of bacteria S. viridans. There were significant differences antibacterial effect between green piper betle leaf extract and red piper betle leaf extract with 3% H2O2 to S. Viridans. 100% Green piper betle leaf extract effective as an antibacterial against S. viridans. Need more research on the use of green piper betle leaf extract and red piper betle leaf extract as an alternative material of root canal irrigation. Teenagers’ knowledge and attitude in preventing smoking becomes the factor of teenager to smoke. One of the ways to improve teenagers’ knowledge and attitude is doing education about health which is delivered using Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) method. Kind of experiment used is quasy experimental with non equivalent control group plan.Sampling method using multistage random sampling with the total respondent is 48 which consist of 24 control group and 24 intervention group. The result of analyzing data using Wilcoxon test is P value knowledge = 0,013 and P value attitude = 0,005 whereas the comparison between control group and intervention group using Mann Whitney test is P value knowledge and attitude is 0,000 and observing the degree of guiltiness (α = 0,05) so P value < 0,05. The analysis result is knowledge variable 22 respondents (91,7%) have high knowledge, 2 respondents (8,3%) average knowledge and none of the respondents which have low knowledge after being done intervention. In attitude variable, 12 respondents (50%) have good attitude, 12 respondents (50%) have average attitude and none of the respondents which have bad attitude after being done intervention. The conclusion is there are meaningful effects of STAD to the knowledge and attitude of preventing smoking to the teenagers of MA Nurul Qarnain and knowledge and attitude have diferented betwen experiment group and control group. Abstrac Neutrophils are the first non-specific immune cells that successfully overcome the presence of antigens, starting with attachment and then terminate the antigen by phagocyte process. Mangosteen peel extract (Garcinia mangostana L.) possesses a compound that contains pharmacological activity. The purposes of this study were to determine the benefits of manufactured mangosteen peel extract toward increased neutrophil microbicidal activity and the most effective concentration in increasing neutrophil microbicidal activity exposed to S. mutans. Microbicidal activity of neutrophil cells was tested by firstly taking blood isolate neutrophils from peripheral veins of healthy people, secondly incubated with mangosteen peel extract, thirdly exposed to S. mutans, fourthly subcultured on a BHI-A medium, then incubated for 24 hours, and finally calculated the number of colonies by using colony counter. Results of the data were analyzed by using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Levene, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney. The results showed each treatment group had significant difference with value of 0,001 (p<0,05). The treatment group incubated with the mangosteen peel extract had less number of colonies compared to the group which was not given mangosteen peel extract. In conclusion, the mangosteen peel extract could increase neutrophils microbicidal activity that was exposed to S. mutans.. Perpanjangan Waktu Perdarahan pada Pemberian Perasan Bawang Merah (Allium ascalonicum) (The Effect of Red Onion Juice (Allium ascalonicum) to Prolongation of Bleeding Time)
Bleeding is one of many deathscauses. In the dentistry, bleeding can be encountered such as post-surgery. Excessive bleeding may be caused by the consumption of drugs or certain foods. Red onion (Allium ascalonicum) is one of vegetables that isconsumed by people. It wasestimated to be able to affect bleeding because containedquercetinwhich effected on adhesion, aggregation, and platelet secretion. This study aimedto determine whether redonion juice couldcause prolongation of bleeding time in wistar rats. This study wasan experimental research laboratory. The researchsampleswere 28 wistar rats,divided into 4 groups. Samples were adapted for 1 week, then they were given the treatment each group, the group I was given distilled water, group II was given red onion juice 0,562 mg/g BB, group III was given red onion juice 1,125 mg/g BB, and the fourth group was given 2,25 mg/g BBred onion juice orally. Then we cut edge 1 cm long rat tail and every 30 seconds the blood that dripped out on absorbent paper until the bleeding stops, so we got the bleeding time in each sample. The results showed that there were significant differences between the four groups of samples. The conclusion of this study wasredonion juice couldcause prolongation of bleeding time in wistar rats, with the greatest prolongation of bleeding time at dosage of 2,25 mg/g BB, then the dosage of 1,125 mg/g BB, and the smallest at 0,562 mg/g BB of dosage. Family planning program is an effort to solve the demoghraphy issue in Indonesia.Metode Operasi Wanita (MOW) is a contraception method that can be exact choice for family who want to stop having children and end the pregnancy. Husband’s social support is needed for MOW as a contraception method of family planning program,especially for unmet need Of eligible couples. In 2012, Puger sub district had the highest of eligible couples of unmet need in Jember regency.The objective of this research is to explain husband’s social support for wive to use contraception of MOW. This research applied qualitative-method.The data was collected by in-depth interviews.The informants were defined by purposive sampling. Based on the results of indepth interview, it was known that most of husband didn’t give social support in three aspects. It was caused most of them had a poor knowledge about MOW and high cost that have to be paid as administrative and accomodative cost for MOW services. There were some factors caused unmet needs in Puger Sub district : (1) they are officer of family planning program and society still had limited knowledge about MOW; (2) husbands forbade their wives to use MOW; (3) it’s caused cost must be paid. Uji Aktivitas Anti Hiperurisemia Ekstrak n-Heksana, Etil Asetat, dan Etanol 70% Biji Jinten Hitam (Nigella sativa) terhadap Mencit Hiperurisemia (Anti Hyperuricemic activity of n-Hexane, Ethyl acetate, and Ethanol 70% of Black Cumin Seed (Nigella sativa)
The aim of this study was to determine the in vivo anti-hyperuricemic effect of black cumin extract. Black cumin was extracted with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol 70% continously. Fifteen mice were divided into five groups K-, K+, P1, P2, and P3. Group K- as negative control (chicken liver juice 0,2 % b/v) and group K+ as positive control (allopurinol 10 mg/kg b.w.). Group P1, P2, and P3 received n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol 70% black cumin extract. The extracts were given to mice in 200 mg/kg b.w dose for 4 days. The blood samples were taken an hour after potassium oxonate injection (300 mg/kg b.w) to inhibit uricase enzym. The data was collected and analyzed using one way ANOVA and LSD test. The result showed that activity of ethyl acetate extract of black cumin has no significant difference of possitive control. Based on phytochemistry screening it has terpenoid, saponin, and alkaoid. Terpenoid has anti-hyperuricemic effect but its mechanism still unknown. Â Keywords: hyperuricemic, Nigella sativa, terpenoid
