Efektivitas Ekstrak Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica Linn.) sebagai Nefroprotektor pada Tikus Wistar yang Diinduksi Parasetamol Dosis Toksik
Get PDFThe ethanolic extract of Mimosa pudica Linn. was evaluated for its nefroprotective and antioxidant activity against paracetamol induced kidney toxicity in wistar rats. Liver damage was induced by administration of 1.350 mg paracetamol/kg body weight. The ethanolic extract of Mimosa pudica Linn. (400mg/kg, 600mg/kg, and 800 mg/kg) was administered orally to the rats for 6 days. Curcuma® was given as positive control. All of the test drugs were administered orally by suspending in 1% of Na CMC solution. The nefroprotective activity was assessed using the levels of BUN and creatinine serum. The result revealed that all doses of the extracts showed effective activity in inhibiting the increase of BUN and creatinine serum and the doses of 800 mg/kg showed the biggest percent value (9,4% of BUN level and 12,19% of creatinine level). The positive control group could prevent the increase of BUN and creatinine serum better when compared with the group of Mimosa pudica Linn.The result of the present study indicated that the ethanolic extract of Mimosa pudica Linn. significantly prevent the increase of the level BUN and creatinine serum in wistar rats induced with paracetamol toxic dose.Keywords: Antioxidant, nefrotoxic, Mimosa pudica, paracetamol, BUN, creatinine. Their sexual lifestyle who often have multiple sexual partners, serving many customers, and do not use condoms when serving customers make the risk of transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is very large. This study aims to analyze sexual lifestyle “campus chicken†and its impact on the risk of transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The research design is a qualitative study. Sampling techniques used snowball sampling, obtained four informants. Collecting data used by in-depth interview. Triangulation method was interview to friends dan taxi driver who became an intermediary “campus chickenâ€. Analyzing method using thematic analysis. Base on the result of research, most of the informant to be “campus chicken†because economic factors. All informants have been pregnant and had an abortion. Majority of informants do an abortions in the massage healer. All informants serve clients 3 times in a week. All the informant always do vaginal sex and do not have special sexual technique, choose a rich client, and always have a sex in hotel. Most of the informants did not practice safe sex, they are not consistent in the use of condoms. The risk of transmission of STIs is very large, all the informants had experienced symptoms of STIs. Majority of informants are drinking antibiotics and herbal medicine to treat the symptoms of STIs.Keywords: “Campus Chickenâ€, Sexual Lifestyle, STIs
