Determinan Kejadian Stunting pada Anak Balita Usia 12-36 Bulan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Randuagung Kabupaten Lumajang (Determinants of Stunting among Children Aged 12-36 Months in Community Health Center of Randuagung, Lumajang Distric)
Stunting was linear growth disorder caused by chronic malnutrition nutrient intake andchronic or recurrent infections indicated by the value of the z-score of height for age(TB/U) <-2 SD based on WHO standards. It was also a public health problem becauseassociated with increased risk of morbidity and mortality. Randuagung was the highestprevalent stunted that 34,63% form 25 community health center in Lumajang distric.Based on result of the first study done to 30 children ini community health center ofRanduagung, Lumajang distric, acquired amount of 11 children endured the stunted.This study aimed to analyzed the determinants of stunting among children aged 12-36months in Puskesmas Randuagung, Lumajang. This study was observational analyticwith cross sectional design. The sample size were 86 toddlers were taken by simplerandom sampling. Bivariate analyzed with chi square test and multivariate analyzedwith multiple logistic regression. The results show that 53.5% sample were stunted. Theanalysis show there were relationship between zinc consumption level, infectiousdiseases, and genetically with the incidence of stunting. The level of zinc consumptionand genetic were the risk factor of stunting among children age 12-36 month.Keywords: Stunting, children, risk facto
Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan tentang Skin Personal Hygiene Management terhadap Tindakan Perawatan Diri pada Narapidana Penderita Skabies di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Klas II-A Jember (The Influence of Health Education about Skin Personal Hygiene Management
Scabies is a skin disease that can transmited to another person who live together in some place for a long time and cause pruritus, skin eruption, and scars. Skin Personal Hygiene Management can facilitate the knowledge, skill and ability of the patients to take care and prevent scabies infection. The objetive of the research was to analyze the influence of Health Education about Skin Personal Hygiene Management to the self care actions on prisoners with scabies. The method of the research was quasi experimental study with post test only with control group design. The sample of the research used total sampling with 22 prisoners with scabies respondent divided into 2 groups, experiment group dan control group which 11 respondent each group. Data were analyzed by using Independent T-test with 95% of Cl. The result showed that p value of Independent t-test was 0,000 (p < α; α = 0,05). The conclusion of this research is there was an influence of health education about Skin Personal Hygiene Management to self care actions on prisoners with scabies in Correctional Institution Class II-A Jember. Self care actions on experimental group was categorized 100% good, meanwhile on control group 90,9% categorized quite good. It is suggested that nurses can provide Skin Personal Hygiene Management to increase self care actions which can prevent scabies infection and using Skin Personal Hygiene Management as health education program. Background: Stress is a phenomenon that can occur to all organisms. Pathological stress is called distress. Distress in the long term is called chronic distress. Chronic distress will increase the secretion of cortisol, which is inducting osteoblast apoptotic and reduce osteoblast number. Purpose: Analizing the effect of differentiation chronic distress duration of osteoblast cells number in aveolar bone of Sprague dawley rats changing. Methods: Using Sprague Dawley rats with total sample of 24 animals. The rats were given an electric shock stressor (Electrical Foot Shock) as distress chronic for 7, 14, and 28 days. Stressors were given for 30 minutes at 9 a.m every day during the treatment period. The amount of electrical current is 2-8 mA, 48 V voltages and 0.5 Hz frequency. Osteoblast number were observed histologically using a microscope with 400x magnification. Results: The results showed a significant difference of 0.00 (p <0.05) between variables. Significant differences were found in the SPF 0 with SPF 4. Conclusion: Differences long time proven chronic distress affects the decrease in the number of osteoblasts in alveolar bone Sprague Dawley rats. Nowadays emerge event about global worried will have negative effect from highereconomic development to our environment that causes to develop of industry, one ofthem is Illegal Gold Mines industry. This industry very close with environment problembecause it outcomes is waste that consists of high metal, one of them contains mercury(Hg). The preliminary study was done in village sumberagung, pesanggaran,banyuwangi by first Hg value is 0,038 mg/L over environment quality reciprocal. Thealternative of waste processing was by using Eichornia crassipes. The purpose of thisresearch to know the differences of liquid waste Hg value before and after usingEichornia crassipes. This reserach experimental with True Eksperimental Design. Thisresearch have control group with treatment as reserach independent variable. Controlgroup is a group without using Eichornia crassipes, first group (X1) is a group that usingEichornia crassipes with weight 300 gr/L, second group (X2) is a group that usingEichornia crassipes with weight 400 gr/L, third group (X3) is a group that using Eichorniacrassipes with weight 500 gr/L. Praktik Pola Asuh dan Status Gizi Anak Balita Usia 6-24 Bulan pada Masyarakat Suku Using Desa Kemiren Kecamatan Glagah, Kabupaten Banyuwangi (The Practice of Parenting Style and Nutritional Status of 6-24 Month-Old Toddlers on Using Community in Kemiren Village, District of Glagah, Banyuwangi Regency)
Child’s nutritional status was influenced by several factors, including the parenting.Based on the results of weighing operations in February 2014, Kemiren village was inthe fourth highest position of ten villages in Glagah Subdistric for thin and verry thinprevalence. Weighing operations on August 2014 showed that Kemiren was in thesecond highest position of ten villages in, which was 2,94%. Based on teh preliminarystudy, according to midwives and community leaders in Kemiren village, toddlers stillobtained improper parenting, that was, giving food other than breast milk before the ageof 6 months and unvaried food. In addition to nutritional problems, the other underlyingthing was the cultural factors in Kemiren village, one of which was the dietaryrestrictions. There was a presumption among parents that infants should not be givenlady finger bananas because they would experience difficulty in speaking. This studyaimed to identify parenting practice and nutritional status of toddlers aged 6-24 monthsin the community of Using ethnic in Kemiren village.This was a descriptive study usingcross sectional approach. The samples were total population in total of 35 toddlers aged6-24 months. Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Tauge Kacang Hijau (Vigna Radiata (L.)) terhadap Ketebalan Tunika Intima-Media Aorta Abdominalis pada Tikus Wistar Jantan yang diberi Stres Fisik (The Effect of Mung Bean (Vigna radiata (L.)) Sprout Extract on Tunica Intima-Me
Mung bean (Vigna radiata (L.)) sprout contains antioxidants especially vitamin E that can prevent oxidative stress and maintain cell membranes from lipid peroxidation, so the development of atherosclerosis can be inhibited. This study investigated the effect of mung bean sprout on the aorta abdominalis tunica intima-media thickness of male wistar rats induced by physical stress. It was a true experimental study with Post-test Only Control Group Design. Twenty five male wistar rats aged 2-3 months, divided into 5 groups: K1, K2, P1, P2 and P3. K1 was a normal group without treatment. The other groups were given physical stress such as swimming test for ten days. P1, P2, and P3 group were treated by 25, 50, and 100 mg/200g/day of mung bean sprout extract simultaneously. At the end of treatment, the aorta abdominalis were taken and prepared for histopathology examination. The result showed the average of tunica intima-media thickness in K1 30,25±1,65 µm; K2 32,45±5,02 µm; P1 31,65±2,63 μm; P2 30,35±4,73 μm and P3 30,45±3,21 μm. Data analysis using One Way ANOVA showed a significancy of p=0,839. In conclusion, there was no effect of the mung bean sprout extract on tunica intima-media thickness of male wistar rats induced by physical stress.  Keywords: Mung bean, physical stress, tunica intima-medi
Uji Sitotoksisitas dan Proliferasi Senyawa 1-(4- Trifluorometilbenzoiloksimetil)-5-Fluorourasil terhadap Sel Kanker Payudara MCF-7 (Cytotoxicity and Proliferation Assay of 1-(4- Trifluoromethylbenzoyloxymethyl)-5-Fluorouracil) On MCF-7 Breast Cancer Cell
1-(4-trifluoromethylbenzoyloxymethyl)-5-fluorouracil (TFU) is a derivative compound of anticancer agent, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). TFU has been synthesized by Ernawati to increase the anticancer activity of 5-FU. However, the cytotoxic and antiproliferative effect of TFU had not been carried out. This study aimed to evaluate the cytotoxic and antiproliferative activity of TFU compared to 5-FU on MCF-7 breast cancer cell line using MTT method. The citotoxicity study was done for 24 hours. The antiproliferative study was done for 24, 48, and 72 hours. The cytotoxic effect was determined based on IC50 value while the antiproliferative effect was determine based on the doubling time value. The results showed that TFU had better cytotoxicity on MCF-7 with IC50 value 401.03 ± 0.370 µM compared to 5-FU with IC50 value 4216.32 ± 800.28 µM. The doubling time value of TFU at concentration of ½ IC50, IC50, and 1½ IC50 were 359.66; 364.39; and 448.40 hours respectively, while 5-FU were 184.45; 214.00; and 220.63 hours. The doubling time value indicated that TFU compound was able to prolong the doubling time of MCF-7 cell line compared to 5-FU. Effect of Disinfection with Spraying Technique 35 % Betel Pepper leaf boiling water and 0,5 % Sodium Hypochlorite on Dimensional Stability of Casts Made from Alginate
Alginate is an impression matter that often used on dentistry. Some studies showed that aginate caused cross infection. it needs a disinfection product to avoid that cross infection. the disinfection matter which often used are betel pepper leaf boiling water and the sodium hypochlorite, but alginate have imbibition characteristic and fenol that contain in betel pepper leaf boiling water suggested dimensional changes on alginate. The technique of this research with sprayed technique. The aim of this research’s to find dimentional stability on casts made from alginateafter disinfection procedure with sprayed technique used 35 % betel pepper leaf boiling water and 0,5 % sodium hypochlorite. This research is an experimental laboratories using post test only control group design. The samples are an upper jaw replica. The samples are 28 samples and divided into 4 groups. A group is directly filling and the others are sprayed with aquadest sterile, 35 % betel pepper leaf boiling water and 0,5 % sodium hypochlorite and saved in vacuum box for 10 minutes. Samples measured by term mizzen with 0,05 accuracy.The conclusion of this research is there was dimentional changes on casts made from alginate after disinfection procedure with sprayed technique used 35 % betel pepper leaf boiling water and 0,5 % sodium hypochlorite.  Keywords: Alginate, betel pepper leaf, cross infection, dimensional stability, sodium hypochlorite
Deteksi Daging Babi pada Sampel Bakso Menggunakan Metode Near Infra Red (NIR) dan Kemometrik sebagai Verifikasi Kehalalan (Detection of Pork in Beef Meatball Sample using Near Infra Red and Chemometrics as Halal Verification)
Meatball (bakso) is one of the favorite foods in Indonesia. The adulteration of pork in beef meatball occurs frequently. This study was aimed to develop a fast and non destructive technique for the detection and classiï¬cation of pork in beef meatball using Near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, combined with chemometrics, e.g. partial least square (PLS) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). The spectral bands associated with pork protein (PP), beef protein (BP), and their mixtures in meatball formulation were scanned, interpreted, and identiï¬ed by relating them to those spectroscopically representative to pure PF and BF. Study was done in four phases successively; (1) preparation of trained sample; (2) analysis of meatball powder by NIR Spectrophotometer. NIR spectrum were used to form three data sets, i.e. (a) spectrum in full region, (b) spectrum with first derivative, and (c) spectrum with second derivative; then (3) classification model of chemometrics to PLS and LDA was formed using the Unscrambler X 10.2 Software. (4) the NIR method and the best model of chemometric were applied in meatball samples for the prediction in compared with Xematest Pork result. Then prediction from Xematest Pork compared with The result from NIR-Chemometric. Xematest Pork is simillar with the result of NIR-Chemometric.

Uji Klinis Penggunaan Pasta Gigi Herbal Terhadap Penurunan Indeks Plak Rongga Mulut (Clinical Trial of Herbal Toothpaste to Reduce Plaque Index in Oral Cavity )
Toothpaste with a toothbrush are control hygiene and health of the oral cavity by means of cleaning plaque and food residues. Maintenance of teeth and cleaning the mouth is one of the efforts to improve health, but there are many people did not know is there a difference in cleaning the plaque herbals toothpastes. Objective: To compare plaque index pre and post given herbal toothpaste, and compare plaque index among herbal toothpaste. Methods: Research clinical trials that followed by 15 subject of study was more than 12 years old or arrangement of teeth complete permanent eruptive. Fifteen the subject divided into three groups using pre post test control group design and cross over design, the subject of brushing teeth with three different toothpaste. Result: Paired t-test result showed (p<0,05) there was significant reduction of plaque index between pre and post intervension herbal toothpaste and control toothpaste. One Way Annova test showed (p>0,05) there was no significant differences between those toothpaste to reduce plaque index. Conclusion: All of herbal toothpaste significant reduction of plaque index between pre and post intervension. There was no significant differences between those herbal toothpaste to reduce plaque index. Keywords: plaque index, herbal toothpast
