The release of metal ions can affect the quality of orthodontic wire.Objective: To analyze the effect of immersion thermal NiTi archwire in the bottled tea drinks to the archwire force deflection.Material andMethods: The sample size were 12 round thermal NiTi orthodontic archwires (3M; 0,016 inch) which divided into three groups: a control group (artificial saliva), a group of bottled tea drinks and bottled tea drinks of fruit flavors. The samples were immersed in an incubator for 10.5 hours at 37 ° C. The deflection test used Three-Point Bending method with a Universal Testing Machine in each group.Results and Conclusion: The results of One Way ANOVA test obtained value of 0.768 (p>0.05) which indicates that no significant difference in each group. Penentuan Adulterasi Daging Babi pada Sampel Burger Sapi Menggunakan Metode NIR dan Kemometrik (Determination of Pork Adulteration in Beef Burger Samples Using NIR and Chemometrics Method)
Get PDFBurger is one of the favorite processed meat products. The adulteration of pork in halal-labeled beef burger becoming problem for the Muslim community. Therefore, it is necessary to develop some rapid and reliable methods for detection of pork in beef burger samples. NIR method combined with chemometrics were choosen because those methods are rapid, easy and reliable. The purpose of this study was to determine of pork adulteration in beef burger samples using NIR method combined with multivariate statistical methods such as Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Soft Independent of Class Analogies (SIMCA), and Support Vector Machines (SVM). The NIR method and the best classification models of chemometric were applied in the beef burger samples. The result of NIR and Chemometrics is compared to the pork strip test. The results shows that the NIR-chemometrics method in good agreement with pork strip test toward pork adulteration in the beef burger samples tested.

Get PDFMesoyi oil distilled from the bark of Cryptocarya massoy have been used for traditional treatment of various ethnicities. However, its safety use has not been widely studied. This study aimed to investigate the cytotoxicity of mesoyi oil on vero cells in vitro. The Inhibitory concentration 50% (IC50) of mesoyi oil is evaluated using MTT assay. The results indicated that the mesoyi oil exhibited cytotoxic effects on vero cells with IC50 value of 97.4 μg//mL. This call for further studies to evaluate the cytotoxic activity in vivo. There are many factors(age, years in nursing, previous experience with disaster situation, worked in a post disaster shelter,self regulation and health care climate) influence nurse to take well preparedness. The objective ofthe research is to analyze the factors influence preparedness. The descriptive analitic with crosssectional approach. The sample of the research are 16 nurses. The data taken using questionnairefrom Emergency Preparedness Information Questionnaire that have been modiefied. The analyze ofdata using spearman rho test and logistic regression (with α = 0,05). The result of bivariat analyzethere are significant relations between age, years in nursing, previous experience with disastersituation, worked in a post disaster shelter, self regulation, health care climate with preparedness (p< α = 0,05). From multivariat analyze we know that years in nursing is variable dominan factor thatinfluence nurse preparedness (p = 0,020 < α = 0,05). Determining the identity can be done through changes dimensions. Changes dimensions can be look of reduced weight and discoloration on the restorationat high temperatures. Composite resin restorations is one materials that is mostly used because it has mechanical characteristic, aesthetic and physical well compared to other restorative materials.Objective: To identify the changes ofdimensions such as the weight reduction and the changes ofcolor between nanofiller composite resin with microhybrid composite resin which is heated at high temperatures. Method and Material: The material used is nanofiller composite resin andmicrohybrid composite resin. The stageof thetreatment is done by heating the composite resin at three temperatures: 319oC, 412oC, 800oC then look at the changes ofcolor and the weight reduction.Results and Conclusion: The results of two way ANOVA test and Post Hoc LSD test showed a significant differences with p <0.05. Get PDFDiabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia caused by disruption of glucose metabolism in the body. Non-insulin dependent DM or type 2 DM can progress into macrovascular complication such as hypertension. The aim of this study was to examine treatment profile of patients with type 2 DM and hypertension. This consecutive cross sectional research used the data taken from medical records of ambulatory patients visiting dr. H. Koesnadi Bondowoso during January to December 2014. A number of 205 patients were included in the study consisting of 125 (60.1%) females and 80 (39.0%) males. Most patients (180 patients, 78.2%) were aged 50-69 years. One hundred and eighty-seven patients received antidiabetic and antihypertensive therapy, 4 patients were without antidiabetic therapy and 14 patients without antihypertensive therapy. Inappropiate combination of medications occured among 71 patients. Moreover,12 patients were found under dosed.

Get PDF Stress is a natural reaction that allows the human compelled to face the difficulties. Stimuli that causes stress can be physical and psychological. Physical stressors can occur continuously or sustained, which causes pathological processes in the body. This pathological process may be occur in liver and heart. One of parameter to assess characteristics of tissue can use Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT). The aim of this study was to prove differences level of SGOT in male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) that exposed and control group were not exposed by pain stressor electrical foot shock for 28 days. Blood sampling was carried out on day 28 in intracardiac then tested the levels of SGOT. Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant change (p≤0,05) between control and treatment group. Liver damage from stressors may be not cause necrosis of liver cells. SGOT was not a single biomarker that was specific and sensitive for the diagnosis of liver disease because SGOT was also found in the heart.  Keywords: electrical foot shock, SGOT, stres

Get PDFPhysical stress is a condition that caused by severe physical activities which can increase free radicals production causing oxidative stress. Oxidative stress causing the organs failure include the kidney. It damage glomerulus causing decrease in GFR and tubular cell damage causing cumulation of creatinine and raise creatinine serum. This study investigated the difference of serum creatinine of male Rattus norvegicus with physical stress and without physical stress. Ten male Rattus norvegicus aged 2-3 months were divided into two groups : control and treatment group. Control group without physical stress but treatment group was given physical stress 30 minutes of swimming stress in the morning everyday for 10 days. The creatinine serum measured by Jaffe reaction. The normal range of serum creatinine for Rattus norvegicus was 0,578-1,128 mg/dl. The result of serum creatinine for control group was 0,52 mg/dl and treatment group was 0,62 mg/dl,both still in normal range. The analysis using Mann Whitney showed the significance of 0,23 (p>0,05). We can conclude that there was no difference of serum creatinine of male Rattus norvegicus with physical stress and without physical stress. The informants were obtained 6 persons, there were a key informant(coordinator of Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team in Jember Regency), 3main informants (Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team Team ofSumberjambe Subdistrict and Head of Social Prosperousness in SumberjambeSubdistrict), and 2 additional informants (Sumberjambe Subdistrict people). Data weregathered by in-depth interview, triangulation, and documentation. Get PDFAppendectomy is a procedure that can cause pain. The clients with post appendictomy operation need the maximal treatment to return the body function quckly. One of non pharmacological therapy that can be used to decrease the pain is early mobilization. Early mobilization is useful to distract clients from the pain. The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of early mobilization on the change of pain level in clients with post appendectomy operation at Mawar Surgical Room of Baladhika Husada Hospital Jember Regency. Independent variable of this research was early mobilization and dependent variable was the change of pain level. This research used pre experimental: one group pretest posttest design. The sampling collection technique used was consecutive sampling involving 8 individuals. Data analysis used t-dependent testing with the significance level of 95% (α=0,05). Data analysis regarding dependent t-test showed that there was a significant difference between pretest and posttest after early mobilization (p=0,000). The conclusion of this research suggested that there is an effect of early mobilization on the change of pain level. The early mobilization is expected to be applied as one of methods in providing nursing care to clients with post appendectomy operation.  Keywords: early mobilization, appendectomy, pai
