    Disability is a condition that the patient loss of opportunities to take a part in normal life due to physical, mental and social barrier. Disability is commonly caused by low back pain. Physical workload is the one of risk factors of low back pain. The purpose of study was to measure the influence of physical workload and disability caused by low back pain at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. This research was analytic observational study with cross sectional approach. Physical workload was measured by Self Measured Quistionere Physical Demand and disability was measured by Oswestry Disability Index. Physical workload was divided into manual handling and work postures. As many as 32 samples were collected during May-June 2016. The data were analyzed by Spearman correlations test and showed there were no significantly influence between manual handling (α=0,769), work postures (α=0.763) and disability. Spearman correlation test also showed there were no relationship between manual handling (r=0,055), work postures (r=-0,054) and disability. Thus it, can be concluded that there were no influence between physical workload and disability caused by low back pain in RSD dr. Soebandi Jember.     Malaria is one of endemic disease in Indonesia that caused many deaths. Immune system plays important rules in preventing malaria severity. Bangle has been proven as an immunostimulant and could reduce parasitaemia in malaria infection. This study aimed to determine the activity of n-hexane fraction of bangle methanolic extract as complementary therapy of malaria. This study used 28 mice, divided into one positive control group, one negative control group, and five treatment groups. Bangle stimulation before induction was given to five treatment groups with dose: 0,005625mg/grbw, 0,01125mg/grbw, 0,0225mg/grbw, 0,045mg/grbw, and 0,09mg/grbw for 14 days. Plasmodium berghei induction was given to all groups, and then treatment groups were given ACT and bangle fraction, and positive control group was given ACT without fraction for three days. Parasitaemia was observed everyday, then plasmodium growth inhibition percentation was counted. Bangle fraction stimulation gave lower parasitaemia at the begining and Pearson correlation test showed strong positive correlation between dose of bangle fraction and plasmodium growth inhibition percentation (p<0,01). We can conclude that n-hexane fraction of bangle methanolic extract was active as complementary therapy of malaria (IC50=0,013 mg/grbb).   Keywords: malaria, bangle, n-hexane, complementary therapy &nbsp

    The risk of mastitis is one of the problems that occurred during the breastfeeding process whichaffect the success of breast-milk. One of the factors that can increase the risk of mastitis isbreastfeeding techniques. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship betweenbreastfeeding techniques and risk of mastitis in Kemuning village Arjasa districts, Jember. Thisresearch used an analytic survey design with cross sectional method. The subjects of this studywere breastfeeding’s mother who have infants age 0-6 months in Kemuning village. The samplingtechnique was a total sampling consist of 57 respondents. The instrument used observation sheet ofbreastfeeding techniques and questionnaires of mastitis risk. Result showed 36 respondents(63,2%) have feeding techniques in enough categories and 26 respondents (45,6%) have middlerisk of mastitis. The analysis based on statistical chi square by using CI=95% showed p value =0,005 (p value<α=0,05). It means that there was correlation between breastfeeding techniques andthe risk of mastitis. A better breastfeeding techniques will decrease the risk of mastitis. Healthworked need to improve the implementation of programs to provide information to mothers aboutbreastfeeding technique and the risk of mastitis.Keywords: Breastfeeding techniques, the risk of mastiti

    Hubungan antara Kekerasan Seksual dengan Fungsi Seksual Perempuan Di Kabupaten Jember (Association Between Sexual Violence with Female Sexual Function in Jember Regency)

    Sexual violence affects women's sexual health. Sexual violence not only affects the reproductive organs physically, but also have an impact on psychological or mental condition of the victim. The goal of research to analyze the association between sexual violence with female sexual function in Jember regency through approach cross sectional research subjects are married women aged 25-40 years and living with a partner were 107 people with a sampling technique pusing method multistage random sampling. Data obtained are presented in tables and analyzed using chi-square test and logistic regression test with significance level of 95% (α = 0,05). The results showed that most women experience sexual coercion, so most women experience problems with sexual function. Women with age ≥ 30 years, low education level, did not work, low income, marital 0-9 years old, and has 2 children are more likely to experience sexual violence. Women with age ≥ 30 years, low education level, did not work, low income, marital 10-20 years old, and has 2 children are more likely to experience sexual dysfunction. The experience of sexual violence and the level of education is the most dominant factor for women to experience sexual dysfunction. It was necessary socialization and understanding of violence against women and female sexual function to improve the reproductive health of women.     Pengembangan Chip Kertas untuk Deteksi Chronic Kidney Disease secara Dini (Development of Paper Based Chip for The Early Detection of Chronic Kidney Disease)

    Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition of kidney which cannot perform its function normally, and expected to increase every year. Paper based chip was used in this case made by immobilized picric acid for creatinine detection, tetrabromophenol blue for protein detection, and bromothymol blue and methyl red for pH detection, on “whatman†filter paper which had been patterned using rubber based ink. The chip was applied for urine of patient, that has analitycal characteristics included response time approximately for 4 hours, linierity of creatinin achieved in concentration range of 0.1 -100 µg/ml and protein of 1 – 200 µg/ml, LOD (limit of detection) and LOQ (limit of quantification) of creatinin 0.088 µg/ml and 0.293 µg/ml, and protein 0.462 µg/ml and 1.540 µg/ml respectively. Interference study showed that urea, salt and sugar, interferen around 0.271-1.966% for creatinin and protein of 0.429 – 1.786%, respectively. The chip could be used up to 3 weeks if it stored in a dry place on room temperature and can be used to analyze condition of CKD over health condition. Keyword: CKD creatinin, protein, pH, and sensor Â

    Introduction:Teeth are hard tissue that serve as the process of mastication in humans. In the event of tooth damages, they can not perform their functions optimally. Dental hard tissue damages include caries, attrition, abrasion, erosion and fracture.The damage of tooth hard tissues can change the anatomical shape of the tooth which make them fail to function properly. Restoring the damaged anatomical shape can be achieved by restoration or fillings.Objective: To know the indication of restoration treatments in patients who attended RSGM University of Jember in 2015.Methods:This research was a descriptive study with Cross Sectional Study approach. The study was conducted at RSGM University of Jember. The number of respondents were 100 which was obtained by using the Slovin formula.Result and Conclusion: The prevalence of restoration treatments indication in patient who attended RSGM University of Jember in 2015 was 89% . It was distributed based on sex was 52,8% for women and 47,2% for men, based on age groups, 21-26 year-old-group had the highest prevalence, while 33-44 year-old-group had the lowest prevalence.  Keywords: restoration treatments, prevalenc

    Caffeine is one of alkaloids that have the potential to skin cancer treatment. Caffeine is hydrophilic with log-P value of 0.07 that makes difficult to penetrate to the stratum corneum. Nanoemulsion is one of system which made to increase drug penetration. Oneof the important component in the nanoemulsion is a surfactant that acts as a unifier between the oil and water phases to form one phase that isotropic and thermodynamically stable. The presence of lipophilic component in the surfactant can affect the skin barrierdisturb, thus increasing penetration. The aims of this study was to find the best composition of the PEG-400 and lecithin as surfactant combination to obtain a nanoemulsion that is safe, stable, and increasing penetration of caffeine. The experiment was conducted using a factorial design method which observed responses of flux value and viscosity deviation. The viscosity deviation and flux were analyzed using Design Expert 10.0 trial to determine the optimal formula of caffeine nanoemulsion. The results obtained optimal formula of nanoemulsion that has composition of PEG-400 as 32% and lecithin as 7% . Prediction of viscosity deviation and flux value of optimal formula was 0,034 cP and 0.514 μg cm-2min-1.Keywords: caffeine, nanoemulsion, PEG-400, lecithin&nbsp

    Background: Deflection of orthodontic wire can be changed by oral condition, for exampleacidic condition caused by carbonated drink consumption. Objective: to analyze the differencein deflection of Nickel-Titanium archwire and NiTi epoxy resin coated immersed by artificialsaliva and carbonated drink. Materials and Methods: This research used four sample groups:NiTi non coated archwire immersed by saliva, NiTi non coated archwire immersed by salivamixed carbonated drink, NiTi coated archwire immersed by saliva, and NiTi coated archwireimmersed by saliva mixed carbonated drink. The samples were immersed for 3.5 hours at 37° Cin incubator. The deflection was measured with Three Point Bending method using UniversalTesting Machine. Result and Conclusion: One Way Anova test result showed significantlydifference between coated and non coated group that immersed by saliva with the groupimmersed by saliva mixed carbonated drink.     Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease which causes various complications that require patients to use polypharmacy. The use of polypharmacy has been reported to be one of the causes of drug related problems (DRPs). DRPs are unexpected events related to the treatment undergone by the patient. This study aimed to avoid DRPs so that patients could receive the best treatment. This research used total sampling method and conducted retrospectively using medical records of patients with type 2 diabetes which were hospitalized in RSD dr. Soebandi Jember in 2015. As many as 15 patients (25%) of 60 patients experiencing DRPs were included in the six criteria of DRPs. This criteria included unnecessary drug therapy found in 1 patient (6,67%), need for additional drug therapy found in 1 patient (6.67%), ineffective drug found in 4 patients (26,67%) and drug interactions found in 10 patients (66.67%).     Background: Increasing number of health care providers triggered fierce competition among health care providers which cause any health care facilities should be put orientation on quality improvement and patient satisfaction. Dimensions can be used to measure the quality of health care is speed time service. Objective: To determine the relationship between the speed time service to patient satisfaction. Method: The study was observational analytic research with cross sectional survey design. The study was conducted by measuring the speed time service from registration until treatment completed using a stopwatch and measure the level of satisfaction by doing interviews with the guidelines Likert scale. Results were then tested Kolmogorov-Smirnov continued Spearman correlation test. Results and conclusions:The highest frequency for time registration is 49 % faster , 81 % speed waiting time is very fast , the speed at OD ( Oral Diagnosis ) 68 % very quickly and speed treatment time was 42 % . The level of patient satisfaction found 71 % of respondents were satisfied . Spearman correlation test results showed that there is a relationship between the speed time service to the patients satisfaction in RSGM Universitas Jember . Keywords: Patient satisfaction, RSGM Universitas Jember, speed time service
