    Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is a syndrome that occurs because of blockage of the coronary artery causing clinical symptoms due to unfulfilled oxygen supply. Atherosclerosis is suspected as the main cause of ACS. Inflammation is one pathophysiology of atherosclerosis characterized by leukocytosis. NSTEMI is one spectrum of ACS that diagnosed by anamnesis, ECG, and cardiac marker such as troponin. SGOT is also released into the circulation when there is myocardial damage. Studies has reported that SGOT increased from the normal range during a myocardial infarction. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between levels of SGOT and leukocytes in patients with NSTEMI. The sample included 10 patients with NSTEMI in July-December 2016 from ICCU RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. The data was collected from medical record. The result showed that the average of SGOT increased from the normal range, while the average levels of leukocytes were in normal range. Pearson correlation test showed that there was no significant relationship between the two variables with p=0.083>0.05. In conclusion, there was no relationship between the levels of SGOT and leukocytes in patients with NSTEMI at ICCU RSD dr. Soebandi Jember.   Keywords: NSTEMI, SGOT, Leukocyte &nbsp

     Habit is a repetitive act that is done spontaneously and commonly occurs in childhood. A habit in the oral cavity that can cause malocclusion is called a bad habit. Bad habits can affect the dentofacial functions such as the process of chewing, talking, tooth occlusion, periodontal tissue, and esthetic. If bad habits continue after six years old, they can cause malocclusion. The etiology of malocclusions can be classified into general and local factors. Bad habit is one of the general factors that play a role in the occurrence of malocclusion. Kinds of bad habits are sucking the thumb/finger, pushing the tongue, biting the lips and nails, wrong swallowing habits, breathing through the mouth, and bruxism. The study investigate the prevalence of bad habit and bad habit that mostly happened as etiology of Angle’s Class I malocclusion in patient of Orthodontic Clinic RSGM Jember University. This descriptional study with total sampling technique was conducted by identifying dental records and study models of Angle’s Class I malocclusion that caused by bad habit. Obtained data were tabulated and analysed so that conclusion could be made.  Prevalence of Angle’s Class I malocclusion caused by bad habits was 9.4% with the largest distribution in thumb/finger sucking (38,7%), in the age group 9-10 years (50%), and in the male gender (53,6%).     Misuse of antibiotics has been discovered in shrimp exported from Indonesia, one of them is chloramphenicol, therefore it is necessary to develop methods for chloramphenicol detection. In this study, the chemical sensor for chloramphenicol detection has been developed. The sensor developed by immobilized bovine serum albumin (BSA) onto cellulose acetate membrane. The sensor has linear range of 6-16 μg/ml chloramphenicol with r 0.999 and limit of detection (LOD)-limit of quantification (LOQ) value of 0.74-2.21 μg/ml. The RSD value of repeatability and intermediet precision were 2.41% and 2.31%, where the recovery was 100.29%. Three of the five samples of tiger shrimp on the market containing chloramphenicol at level of 1.03; 2.48; and 3 μg/ml.     Pengembangan Strip Tes Berbasis Pararosanilina untuk Deteksi Formalin pada Sampel Tahu

        Test strip based on pararosaniline has been developed for formaldehyde detection in tofu samples. The test strip as a formaldehyde sensors has been fabricated by immobilizing pararosaniline on whatman filter paper. The test strip was characterized for liniearity, detection limit, quantitation limit, selectivity, accuracy and precision. It has response time at 4 minutes and good liniearity was achieved in the concentration range of 2-80 ppm with correlation coefficient of (r) 0.999. The detection limit and quantitation limit were 0.048 ppm and 0.161 ppm, respectively. The RSD of reproducibility was found 8.04%, where recovery was 80-110%. The life time of the test strip was 14 days when it was stored at 40C. The test strip has been successfully applied to detect formaldehyde in tofu samples.     Elderly is a condition where someone experience a lot of changes, for instance psychological change.Loneliness is a elderly psychological disorder elderly that can be overcome with spirituality. This studyaimed to analyze the correlation between spirituality and loneliness in elderly in the Pelayanan SosialTresna Werdha (PSTW) Jember. This research applied an observasional analytic design with crosssectional approach. 91 respondents are gained by employing simple random sampling using SpiritualWell-Being Scale (SWBS)(r=0,895) and UCLA Loneliness Scale (r=0,94). Data were analyzed byusing Spearmen correlation test with significance level of 0.05. The result of the spirituality variablereserach shows 71,00 median and ± 45-86, meanwhile on loneliness variable 38,00 median and ± 20-69. There was a significant negative correlation between spirituality ang loneliness (p value: 0.000 ; r:-0,718). Spirituality become one of coping strategy to overcome elderly’s loneliness. Spiritualitybecome power to elderly in facing problem and increasing life quality so can decrease their loneliness.The study shows that the importance of increasing the spirituality to decrease loneliness level onelderly who live at Panti Werdha.Keywords: elderly, spirituality, lonelines

    Caffeine is one of alkaloids that have the potential to skin cancer treatment. Caffeine is hydrophilic with log-P value of 0.07 that makes difficult to penetrate to the stratum corneum. Nanoemulsion is one of system which made to increase drug penetration. One of the important component in the nanoemulsion is a surfactant that acts as a unifier between the oil and water phases to form one phase that isotropic and thermodynamically stable. The presence of lipophilic component in the surfactant can affect the skin barrier disturb, thus increasing penetration. The aims of this study was to find the best composition of the PEG-400 and lecithin as surfactant combination to obtain a nanoemulsion that is safe, stable, and increasing penetration of caffeine. The experiment was conducted using a factorial design method which observed responses of flux value and viscosity deviation. The viscosity deviation and flux were analyzed using Design Expert 10.0 trial to determine the optimal formula of caffeine nanoemulsion. The results obtained optimal formula of nanoemulsion that has composition of PEG-400 as 32% and lecithin as 7% . Prediction of viscosity deviation and flux value of optimal formula was 0,034 cP and 0.514 µg cm-2min-1.   Keywords: caffeine, nanoemulsion, PEG-400, lecithin &nbsp

    Sepsis is a medical condition that is difficult to be identified and diagnosed. Sepsis often occurs to hospitalized patients in the hospital. Treatment with antibiotics is one of the factors supporting the success of sepsis treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the most effective empirical antibiotics based on the cost effectiveness of adult and geriatric sepsis patients in RSD dr. Soebandi Jember during 2014-2015. This observational study was conducted by retrospective data collection. Data was collected from hospitalized sepsis patients medical records and received empirical antibiotics therapy at least three days. The parameters used in this study were costs which included the cost of accommodation, examination support, services, medicines, and medical devices, while the effectiveness used the length of stay, length of antibiotic related and the patients life expectancy. The results of incremental cost effectiveness ratio (ICER) showed that meropenem antibiotic had a lower cost Rp 378,808.07 compared to ceftazidime and cefotaxime. It can be concluded that meropenem antibiotic was more cost effective than ceftazidime and cefotaxime antibiotics.   Keywords: cost effectiveness, pharmacoeconomic, antibiotic, sepsis &nbsp

    Background: Tooth eruption is a continuos processes where the teeth grow, develop, and erupt. These processes were affected by many factors, such as nutritional status which can be examined by anthropometry assessment. Many studies have been conducted to understand the relationship between nutritional status and tooth eruption, how ever study associated with the relation of nutritional status and the eruption of first permanent molars in Jember district area has never been done before. Purpose: To determine the influence of nutritional status towards the number of the first permanent molar tooth eruption among 1st grade students in Jember district area. Methods: This is analytic observational study with a cross sectional approach. We used stratified random sampling technique and 238 1st grade students were participate as volunteers. The nutritional status was assessed by Adolphe Quetelet (BMI) formula corrected for age. Intraoral examination was conducted to count the number of the first permanent molar tooth eruption. The data was analyzed using chi-square. Result: There is significant difference between the first permanent molar tooth eruption and nutritional status among 1st grade students in Jember district area (p = 0,000).     Background: Dental plaque is one factor that causing the occurrence of dentalcaries and periodontal disease. Bacteria that has role in the process offorming and increasing the accumulation of dental plaque is Streptococcusmutans. S. mutans digest sucrose and synthesis glukan in order to helpother bacterial adhesions to form plaques biofilm. An effective way to controlplaque accumulation is needed. One of the ways is using mouth rinse.The mouth rinse in the market could give some side effect in long term.Raisin is a food that made from dried grape result which consists of antimicrobialsubstance such as flavonoid, tannin and triterpenoid. Objective: Determinedthe large of antibacterial activity and effective concentration ofraisins infused that still have antibacterial activity against S. mutans. Methods:This study was laboratories experimental with post test only control groupdesign research. The method was using well diffusion method. Antibacterialactivity was showed by the inhibition zone around the well. Total of researchsamples were 25 samples which divided into 5 groups that were 25%, 50%,100% concentration of raisins infused, chlorhexidine 0,2% and sterileaquadest. Result and Conclusion: The magnitude of antibacterial activityraisins infused against S. mutans was achieved by consentration of 100%,50%, 25% respectively and the effective concentration of the raisins infusedwhich had antibacterial activity was 100%

    Uji Daya Hambat Ekstrak Metanol Daun Ungu (Graptophillum pictum (L.) Griff) terhadap Pertumbuhan Bakteri Saluran Akar Gigi (Inhibition Test of Purple Leaf (Graptophillum pictum (L.) Griff) Methanol Extract toward Root Canal Bacteria's Growth)

    Background: Root canal bacteria in necrotizing pulp are dominated by polymicrobial bacterial colonization. Bacteria control were performed by using antribacterial irrigation. Purple leaf methanol extract contains triterpenoids, alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, and tanins which are to own antibacterial capability. Objective: To determine a wide range of consentrations, the minimal concentration of purple leaf methanol extract which able to inhibit the growth of root canal bacteria, and how much is the concentration of the purple leaf methanol extract which is equivalent to 2.6% sodium hypochlorite. Methods: The method was used well diffusion. Antibacterial test was indicated by the existance of the inhibition zone around the well hole. Total samples used were 56 samples for  each 7 group treatment, which are concentration 100%, 50%, 25%, 12,5%, 6,25% of purple leaf methanol extract, 2.6% of sodium hypochlorite, and sterile water. The results of the study was then tested by the statistical parametric one way ANOVA and LSD. Results and Conclusion: The concentration of purple leaf methanol extract which ables to inhibit the growth of root canal bacteria is 12,5%, 25%, 50%, and 100% also the minimum concentration is 12,5%, and the concentration of purple leaf methanol extract which is equivalent to 2.6% of sodium hypochlorite is concentration of 25%.Keywords: Antibacterial, Root Canal Bacteria, Purple Leaf Methanol Extract, Graptophillum pictum (L.)
