Get PDFThe aim of this research was to improve early reading skills by applying Big Book as a learning media on the first grade student of SDN Laweyan No. 54 Surakarta in academic year of 2018/2019. The research design was classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles. The subject of the research were teacher and first grade students of SDN Laweyan No. 54 Surakarta in academic year of 2018/2019 which amounted 25 students. Data collection techniques used interview, observation, documentation, and test. The data was analyzed with interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman. The data validity was investigated through content validity, source triangulation, also technical triangulation. The result of the research showed that the implementation of Big Book as a learning media could improve the early reading skills on the first grade student of SDN Laweyan No. 54 Surakarta in academic year of 2018/2019. The improvement can be known from the amount of student who passed the minimum completeness criteria (≥75). The percentage of classical completeness in the pre-cycle was 44%, increased to 64% in the first cycle, then in the second cycle it raised to 84%.Keyword: Early Reading Skills, Big Book as A Learning Medi

Get PDFThe purpose of this research was to improve mathematical word problems solving skills through the use of REACT strategy in IV grade students at SDN Soropadan No. 108 Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consisted of 2 cycles and each cycle was held in two confluences. The subjects of this research were teacher and students in IV grade, which amounted to 37 students. Observation, interview, test, and documentation were used as the data collecting techniques. The data validity techniques were content validity and technical triangulation. The data analysis techniques were descriptive comparative, critical analysis, and interactive analysis model Miles & Huberman. The result of this research showed that the average score of mathematical word problems solving skills on pre-action was 36,04 with 2,7% of classical completeness. The average score of first cycle was 68,69 with 51,35% of classical completeness. The average score of second cycle was 85,54 with 83,78% of classical competeness. It concluded that the REACT strategy can improve mathematical word problems solving skills in IV grade students at SDN Soropadan No. 108 Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year.Keyword: mathematical word problems solving skills, REACT strategy

Get PDFAbstract. This research aimed to explain the creative-thinking skills of fourth-grade students to solving the angle measurement material by applying the open ended learning model. This research is Classroom Action Research with two cycles. The research subjects were 27 fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Tunggulsari I No. 72 in the 2018/2019 academic year. The data were collected with interviews, observations, essay test, and documentation using data analysis of source triangulation and technique triangulation. They were analysed using statistic descriptive and interactive analysis. The initial conditions of creative thinking skills of fourth-grade students showed 0% classically. The first cycle began with the first learning classified as high based on the percentage in the creative category of 7% in classical, the second learning was 26% in classical, and the third learning was 44% in classical. The research continued with the second cycle with the first learning showed 59% in classical, the second learning was 74% in classical, and the third learning was 85% in classical. Get PDFThe purpose of this research is improve representation skills in the stories matter by applying Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model. The subjects were 25 a taken from all the students in IVC class at SD Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta in the 2018/ 2019. This research is classroom reseach with three cycles. Data collection technique are using test, observation and documentation with data analysis of technique triangulation, source triangulation and content validity. The initial condition of representation skills in IVC class students showed 4% classically. The first cycle began with the first learning resulting in percentage of 21.7% in classical the second learning was 40.90 % in classical. The study continued with the second cycle with the percentage of achievement at the first learning amounting 61.90 % in classical, the second was 77.30%. The sudy continued with third cycles with the first learning persentage of 84.00% and the second was 87.00%

Get PDFThe aim of this research was to increase the environmental attitude in science subject through implementation the used of Problem Based Learning in fourth grades of state primary school Musuk 1 Boyolali at 2018/2019 academic year. The research focus are teacher and student, totally 30 students. The kind of this research is a classroom action research was conducted in three cycles. The data was collected using techniques of debriefing, observation, questionnaire, also documentation. Data’s been validated with triangulation. Data analysis used in this study was technical analysis of Miles and Hubberman’s interactive analysis. The research showed an increased in environmental attitude. In pre-cycle, resulting in a percentage of 20% reaches the passing grade. The first cycle resulting in a percentage of 33% reaches the passing grade in classical terms, the second cycle resulting a percentage of 60% reaches the passing grade and the third cycle resulting in a percentage of 83% reaches the passing grade in classical terms. Based on these result, it could be concluded that the used of Problem Based Learning models increased environmental in fourth grades of state primary school Musuk 1 Boyolali at 2018/2019 academic year

The purpose of this research is to improve reading comprehension skills in fictional texts through the use of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model at fourth grade students at SDN Jenengan 3 Boyolali in academic year 2018/2019. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was done in two cycle. In each cycle consists of the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The subjects of this research was researchers, fourth grade teachers and fourth grade students with 28 students. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The technique used to check the validity is triangulation technique. The data analysis technique used in this research is a comparative descriptive technique and interactive analysis techniques. Data analysis includes: data reduction, explanation, data (data display) and conclusion. The results of this research show the average class also increased, at the pre-action stage 45.71 with classical completeness of 28.57% then in the first cycle it increased to 65.65 with classical completeness of 42.85% and in the second cycle it increased to 79.46 with classical completeness of 89.28%. Based of the result, the conclusion Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model can improve the reading comprehension skill of fourth grade student at SDN Jenengan 3 Boyolali in academic year 2018/2019. No full textThis research was a classroom action research which aimed to improve fluency thinking skills in Social Sciences lessons through used Quick on The Draw learning model for 4th grade of elementary school student at Surakarta on 2018/2019 academic year. The subjects of this research were class teacher and 28 students from 4th grade of elementary school student. The procedure of this research consisted of 3 cycles, each of that cycles had 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection of this research was done by interviewing, observing, fluency thinking skills tests, and document studies technique. Data validity used is content validity and triangulation technique. This research used interactive analysis (Miles and Huberman models) for data analysis. The results of the research after the action increased from initial condition was 65.68 (39%) to 78.46 (61%) in the first cycle, 87.21 (75%) in the second cycle, and 92.36 (86%) in the third cycle. Based on the results of this research, it was concluded that the fluency thinking skills of 4th grade elementary school students in social science leasson increased after the Quick on The Draw learning model was implemented. Penggunaan metode pembelajaran card sort untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi pada peserta didik kelas v sekolah dasar
Get PDFAbstract. The purpose of this research is to improve the student poetry writing skills through the use of Card Sort method. This is an action classroom research that carried out for three cycles. Every cycle consist of two meeting and four steps there are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Technique that used for collect data are observation, interview, test, and documentation. The data validity test technique uses content validity and triangulation. The data analysis technique uses interactive model learning. The result of this research showed that the initial pre-action test score were 62,88 with classical completeness of 23%, increased in the first cycle by 71,8 with classical completeness of 38,46%, then in second cycle it increased to 74,7 with classical completeness of 53,9%, then in third cycle it increased to 76,8 with classical completeness of 80,75%. Referring to the results of this research it can be conclude that the use of Card Sort method can improve the student writing skills in fifth grades students of SDN 2 Ngadirojo Lor Wonogiri academic year 2018/2019. Get PDFAbstract: The research purposed to increase the students ability especially in understanding of using spelling and punctuation on students class III SD Negeri Tegalsari No 60 Surakarta by complete sentence method and to describe the learning process with the method was proven able to increase the students ability of using spelling and punctuation in writing simple essay on students class II SD Negeri Tegalsari No 60 Surakarta Student Year 2018/2019. The subject of this research was students class III SD Negeri Tegalsari No 60 Surakarta. They were amounts 23 students. The form of this research was Classroom Action Research within somecycles. The data was collected by test and observation. The test was used to measure the ability of using spelling and punctuation and the observation was used to measure teacher perform and student activity. The data was also analysed by using interactive data analysis. The result showed that complete sentence mehtod was proven able to improve the ability of using spelling and punctuatuion in writing simple essay on students class III SD Negeri Tegalsari No 60 Surakarta. It was proven by the grade average in the first cycle and second cycle always improved. The first cylce was only 13 (56,51%) from 23 students who passed the minimum ≥ 66. The highest grade was 88, the lowest grade was 40, and the grade average was≥66 in the first cycle. In the second cyle, the grade increased. Amounts 16 students (78,267%) could pass the test and get grade ≥66.
