    KEPUASAN MAHASISWA TERHADAP SISTEM PELAYANAN AKADEMIK

    Academic services is essential to improve the quality of higher education. The quality of the services can be determined from the students’ point of view. This research was conducted in the Department of Special Education, Faculty of Education, Sate University of Jakarta, from August to November 2012. The purposes of the study are to determine and describe student satisfaction on the academic services. The study included three aspects of services, i.e: (1) services related to teaching and supervising the students, (2) services related to academic administration, and (3) services related to supporting facilities The samples were 70 students chosen by random sampling from the population of second and third year students in the department. The results of the study show that students’ satisfaction on the services related to teaching and supervising is ranged from satisfied to very satisfied. Students’ satisfaction on the services of academic administration is also ranged from satisfied to very satisfied. Students’ satisfaction on supporting facilities isranged from quite satisfied to satisfied. Among the three aspects of service, supporting facilities has the lowest score. The study then generally implies that the Department of Education for Special Need, needs to improve some aspects of services especially suporting facilities

    The research is aimed to identify the needs for teacher’s personal mastery at SMA Negeri 111 Jakarta, from tracing the gap, the gap factor, to select a range of interventions that made it possible to develop personal mastery. Needs assessment adapted Mager and Pipe model (1970) and Rosset’s performance analysis model (2009). The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 111 Jakarta from April through Mei 202, using sampling purposive. All active teachers, the Principal, and representatives of SMA Negeri 111 Jakarta second-grade students were sample. Data was gathered by using questionnaires and interviews. Questionnaires were analyzed by descriptive statistical methods, while the interviews through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The result revealed that there were gaps on the dimension of self-awareness, perceptual acuity, emotional mastery, flexibility and adaptability, autonomy, and creative resourcefulness

    This research aims to map the students’ personality profile in the guidance and Counseling Department, School of Education, State University of Jakarta. The research, conducted as from July through September 2008, belongs to descriptive research with quantitative approach. The total population covered 107 regular students registered at the Department in 2008. The samples were appointed by using proporsional random sampling technique. The data were collected applying Mini Markers anquete and anylized statistically. The results indicate, based on Big Five Personality theory the prominant personality character is agreeableness and the lowest is carefulness

    The purpose of this study is to identify the problems faced by the supervisors in supervising the students to write their thesises. The study conducted in the State University of Jakarta in August 2012 with the population of all thesis supervisors. The samples were appointed incidental sampling technique and the data were collected by using questionnaire to be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings show, (1) the supervisors mostly find problems in assisting the students in writing Chapter I and developing research instrument, (2) computer application can be utilized to assist the students to develop the research instruments but the program is to be designed. This study provides some suggestions to the students, thesis supervisors, and the Department to overcome the identified problems

    Community Reading Centers (CRC) play an important role in developing the community to become a reading and learning society. The Indonesian Government, therefore, encourages the development of CRCs by providing financial assistance or grant to selected CRCs. The problem rised in this research is how the grant influences TBM’s development. This research aims at describing the development of CRCs which had received the grant. The research was done in four districts in Banten Provinces as from June through November 2011 coffering seven CRCs. Applying qualitative paradigm, the research collected data using observation, interview, and study document techniques. The data were analyze qualitatively to draw conclusions and suggestions. The research findings show that the development of CRCs received the grant is not as expected. Based on the findings the research suggest the concerned institutions to intensify monitoring and supervision on the CRCs

    FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KETERLAKSANAAN EVALUASI PROGRAM BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING

    The study aimed at revealing the factors affecting the implementation of the evaluation of guidance and counselling program in Junior Secondary Schools in East Jakarta. Employing descriptive method, the study was performed in March through September 2012. Using convenience sampling, the study identified 18 schools as samples. The study discovered two main factors causing guidance and counselling teachers not performing the guidance and counselling program: (a) inability to perform the evaluation and (b) the high load of the teachers’ tasks. The low factors include the result of guidance and counselling is difficult to measure, (b) incomplete data of guidance and counselling, (c) insufficient budget, (d) inability to set up relevant evaluation criteria, (e) unwillingness to reveal the existence of teacher-counsello, (f) the lack of gudance and counselling teachers, and (g) insufficient support from the svhool principa. The study suggests (a) to review the work load of the guidance and councelling teachers, (b) to develop the cooperation among related intitutions to imptove the competence of gudance and councelling teachers in the evaluation of guidance and counselling program

    School Principal is the most responsible person develping the effectiveness of all school personnel’s performance. Besides, he/she is also expected to be an effective leader who can distribute his authority appropriately, to coordinate the school activities efficently, and to be a motivator who can enable others to improve their performance continously. This research therefore intended to identify the (a) the role of school climate in improving the teachers’ performance, (b) the role of the perception of school principal’s leadership in improving the teachers’ performance, and (c) the role of school climate and the perception of school principal’s leadership simultaniously in improving the teachers’ performance. The research was conducted in the State Madrasah Aliyah 9 in Pondok Bambu, Jakarta as from March through July 2012. The result of the research shows that in the State Madrasah Aliyah 9 in Pondok Bambu, Jakarta, (a) there is a positive effect of school climate for teachers’s performance improvement in the sense that if the school climate improves, the teachers’ performance will also improve or on the contrary; (b) there is a significant effect of the perception of school principal’s leadership to teachers’s performance; and (c) there is a significant effect of school climate and the perception of school principal’s leadership simultaniously to the teachers’ performance improvement

    This research aimed at discovering the staff’s lecturing styles at The Early Childhood Education Program, The School of Education, The State University of Jakarta based on four types: formal authority, personal model or demonstrator, fasilitator, dan delegator. The research conducted in September2011 through January 2012, employed descriptive qualitative method with the researcher acting as the instrument. Data were collected by observation, interview, and document study techniques to be validated in triangulation and member check. Data analysis used the procedures of data reduction, data display, and verification/conclusion. The findings indicate that the staff tend to practise facilitator lecturing style oriented on the students and the staff initate various activities involving the students to improve and develop their competence. Based on the research findings, the staff are recommended to improve their professional competence properly

    Sexual violence against the children often occurs as they have not got sex education. Therefore, sex education should be provided to the early-age children and a research is conducted to find out the result. This research aims at knowing the children’s ability to protect themselves from sexual violance. The research conducted at Ar-Rachman Kindergarten, South Jakarta in November 2011 employed quantitative quasi-experiment. The analysis indicates significant difference in the score between pre-test and post-test of the experiment group. Based on the finding, the research concludes that there is a significant difference in self protection ability for the student having achieved sex education program compared to those who have not. The research recommend sex education should be provided for early-aged children to minimize sexual violence

The try out of the product was done by expert review, face-to-face and filed trials.
